That's happened. If by Paycoin 2.0 you mean Paycoin without the premine and the prime controllers and with another name, there are dozens of coins like that on any exchange.

I probably would have lost a lot of money if not for this thread. I just trust people by nature. The posters here, especially Paul Revere and suchmoon, helped a lot of people. Who knows how many people were considering giving their money to GAW until this thread provided a reality check?

I mean, I actually thought this was all mostly incompetence until the big email dump that slapped me in the face and showed me exactly what kind of scam this was. This thread does God's work.

I don't completely agree with this. There are a couple of things I buy occasionally with BTC, and I mostly keep some BTC around to have cash on hand for those purchases. I don't have some huge stake; I have enough for some basic utility without running to coinbase every time I want to buy something. Sure, most of BTC's value right now comes from speculation, but that's not necessarily unsustainable. The overwhelming majority of gold's value has always come from speculation, and that persists because the basic utility of it being pretty (and now of its use in electronics) acts as a floor.

Garza understood that a coin's use as a store of value must have some basic utility behind it as a foundation. He made some attempts at creating that utility; they just all failed as badly as his attempt to make a stable coin. There's no debit card, his half-assed attempt at building utility around a discount program failed mostly from failing to read TOS, and the discount site he created wasn't automated and required him to manually fill every order (as well as not having any sustainable model). He got the basic point that his coin needed to be used to succeed; he just never successfully executed any of his schemes to get his coin used.

I actually think his idea of leveraging a discount program and a transparent UI to give his coin utility was inspired. He just botched its execution.

This data is all from cryptsy, right? Cryptsy, owner of a prime controller, has an incentive to make it look like there's more buying and more buy orders than actually exist. These could easily be fictional transactions.

I was mostly being facetious. I actually think it's pretty amazing how much you can pull for zero dimes.

Shit, I'm at $9.90 on my pacer account. Anything under $10 in a quarter is free, but once you hit $10, you have to pay. I'm probably going to check on this case again before Oct 1 which means I'm going to end up paying the government for public court records, which just seems wrong.

I think the point of this is that since it's now a court order, failing to comply would be contempt of court, and C. Garza could actually go to jail. They're betting that a night or two in jail might inspire him to talk.

I'm not a lawyer, but that's my guess.

All props to maildir for continually paying attention and grabbing a case number less than 24 hours after it appeared online. It's the first interesting thing that's happened on this in weeks, and it shows us that the SEC still has an active investigation that they're still putting resources toward.

That's one of my favorites. It's an example of how powerful his cult of personality was. It was one of a slew of videos made by HTers to stroke Garza's ego. It's just the silliest/catchiest. (I also like the Kool-Aid Man one.)
