What is GAW?
GAW is
-a site that sells miners (well, two, actually) -zencloud, which is a marketplace for virtual goods and an interface for managing them -hashtalk forums that are used to promote other companies and goods (e.g. Paybase) affiliated with the people behind GAW
Zencloud's death has been promised for a while. Now HashTalk's shutting down. I don't imagine gawminers.com is far behind.
He's winding down the business.

I don't see what's wrong with any of this.
So, kegstand is using Garza's account to ship goods to customers. From a user's perspective, who cares? They might get in trouble for it. They might not. It doesn't really change the user experience.
So, Garza is affiliated with coinstand. Many people have multiple companies that do different, but related, things. I don't see how this is a problem.
So, only the biggest brownnosers and coin promoters get invites. Would you prefer that Garza just cut them $1,000 checks? Garza had made no secret that the $20 exchange rate will not hold, that it's only temporary.
After all that's happened in the past, it doesn't seem like he's doing anything wrong here.

Understand it is a manual purchase where they ask at check out is this a gift so no invoice or paper work with prices are included: "this is a gift from Homero Garza"
Yeah, that's my guess, too. This isn't an affiliate thing. This is a thing where they collect the XPY, then Garza makes a gift purchase that's sent to the purchaser. The only difference is that I would guess it's an automatic process. I think the plan is to open it up to the world (obviously not at $20 per, lol - more like 20 cents). He'll probably make his money off a favorable exchange rate.

I mean if I was trying to prove how legit this is I would have left no stone unturned. I would have shown the shipping label, with my own address and name blacked out that would be reasonable. I would have pulled out the unit and powered it up show it working and I would have used the unit to load up the gift site and claim the gift nothing like that was done some sketch pad shows us a box on the ground. Big deal.
I don't think there's much of a question it's legit. However, as Gava said, it's yet more evidence that Garza is behind coinstand. He's been known to pay people to mod his forums; this is just an indirect way of paying people to promote his coin. I have no problem with this stage, really. He's being very upfront about how this works. A chosen few get, basically, $950 of free gear for testing the site and promoting the coin. When the site goes live, the $20 thing will not be there anymore. He's not lying about any of this, which is a bit surprising, given how nonchalant he was about promising merchant partnerships, a coin support fund, and a $20 floor before. This stage seems pretty above board.

What he should really do is give suchmoon a beta invite. The guy's pretty transparent, so he'll post about the invite, whatever purchases he makes, and whatever shipments he receives. As Crestington said, the real money is here, and as inBitweTrust said, HT users are tapped. Even if suchmoon frames it in the most skeptical terms possible, it's bound to be more effective than giving MrCoins an invite.

Sometimes I wonder about the strategy.
So he picks out six of his biggest promoters and basically gives them $950 each so they'll go online and legitimize Coinstand. He's expecting that the $20 valuation for the six beta users will pump up the price enough that he can sell XPY into it and get more than $6,000 back out. Only, I don't know if that was possible. It wasn't pumped for very long, and he had to sell enough to make up $6,000 plus however much it cost to have the site built.
Even if coinstand is a total scam, he still had to pay for the site being built, and I don't know if he would have been able to sell enough coins at the short-lived inflated price to cover that.

He said invites will be going out today. It's not like him to back himself into such a short deadline.
Something smells really funny about all of this.
Well is actually a great plan, will start sending out invites, people will get excitied start buying more paycoins, they would just use the ones they allready have but they cant get them out of zencloud or paybaase, but they dont want to miss out so will start buying more on the exchanges. This will pump the price even higher. Then when you log in the site wont be functional yet, the only thing that will function is a new wallet you can deposit your newly purchased coins in to prepare for when the product sales go live. THey will start putting great product listings in there showing how great a deal you will get, so people will keep putting their coins in there dreaming of how awesome $50 Macs will be and how they can buy one for the whole family. XPY will go up even further. THen the site will get "hacked" and all deposited funds will get locked. or FUDsters will ruin the merchant agreements for them or the Government will not allow them to turn on sales. or maybe they will come up with some other excuse that is so absurd that I can not even predict it. This is pretty reasonable speculation.

What I am seeing here is that you are allowing BTC loans with XPY at current value as collateral, and then paying back the loan (after default) with XPY at the new current rate (always lower). That = ability to short XPY. That sir, is completely insane.
I'd take advantage of this, but it's not worth the risk that these BTCLend people will just cut and run after a "hack" or whatever before they actually issue the loan. Yeah, this guy is talking in circles and makes no sense.

This may sound like a stupid question as I know very little about day trading but how can you place any trust in charts where a very large amount of sells can drop the price and then a tiny fraction of buys can raise the price back to what it was before?? That seems bizarre to me and almost misleading. Do stock market charts work like this as well?
Yes, which is why you have to be careful looking at charts from the Pink Sheets or Grey Sheets where there could be extremely low volume.
