Ethereum just made a mess of it self by considering bitcoincash blockchain for transaction issue.. i doubt how long this will long and i wonder if it will retain its second spot in the market.
What is that? I am not much up to date about the technology change for Ethereum. Do you have a article or something so that I can have a look to understand the work currently going on with Ethereum or has already done?

Cheers :-)
6862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 18, 2019, 03:07:58 PM

@Royse777 - Don't you worry mate, I'm sure you will recover that 0.05BTC you have lost in tennis.  Grin

I am not gambling these days (from last a week) and decided not to gamble anymore. But in my gambling career I never chased. I know if I go for chasing then I will lose more. I have seen a lot of people around me losing their hard earning money.

Taking about tennis, I missed this Wimbledon to see because of this World Cup cricket. Looking forward to the next major tournament.

What do you guys think about Federer, he already have 20 GS. Do you think he will manage to get one more or few?

Lol, do you know how much users Google's services still have? Their entire business strategy is based on selling people's data and nobody cares.
You'd be wrong to assume that crypto users care more. Everyone is more than willing to send personal information (including IDs) for KYC etc.

Only a very small minority of people actually care about their privacy.

Everything has its cost. We see all those multi million dollar company are letting us to use their service for free but without any catch? We are their product. Without us there will be no Facebook, no Google, no Yahoo. But the only way for them to hang us with them is to provide us the service. And they are doing the exact thing that they were suppose to.

Problem is - we are so dependent with those service that knowing our privacy is being compromise, we are still using their service.
For example: To make this post I am using Google chrome firefox (Not using google chrome though). I am logged in with my gmail account which means google is tracking all my moves. Constantly they are storing my information in their database so they know me very well. I know all these things but why I still let them to do that? Because of the comfortless of using their system. They are customizing their serving for me which makes my life easier.

I see an ad on the Tele where one guy is saying why don't I see that you see in my phone. The other guy proudly saying because google knows what I want. I am in the same situation but not proud because I know I have no option but use their service knowing that my privacy is in stake however we try our best.

6866  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Move/Sweep Bitcoins from wallet to wallet on: July 17, 2019, 05:32:14 PM
~snip~

Just checked the other computer -

the receiving address starts with a 1 in the default/watching wallet and after checking the addresses
tab in the new wallet it also starts with a 1 and is identical leaving me to believe that it was indeed
and Electrum seed I used.

The problem I have now is how to view my payments and total in the main pane with the new transactional
wallet.

Rab.

Now we know that it's a legacy address. I am assuming you are not seeing the same address those are in the watch wallet? If not then you have entered wrong see I am afraid.

Check if you are

# missing any word from the seed
# any wrong word in the seed

If none from the above then the seed you are entering is not the seed of that watch wallet.

I have been able to resolve the problem with help
from you all.

I wouldn't have thought to check the addresses to make sure I was
using the correct app.

All is well now thanks again.

Rab.
Oh great! Are you seeing the balance now in the restored wallet?
6867  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How LBC blocked my 5000$ without any reasons on: July 17, 2019, 05:22:36 PM
That's a very good question. The issue should be spotted at the time of verification. By the way, I just want to be clear here: You are the real owner of the ID?
Sure, i can make any selfie with my ID and me. I've sent them my transaction history from huobi exchange where i bought bitcoins and then sent it to LBC.
If you really want to post a selfie with your ID and other sensitive information then I would suggest to post them in the Investigation board.

Okay you can not post them in the investigation board. You will need to be at least a member but I can help you if you want. If you PM me the information then I can post the information in the Investigation board.

But before that I will suggest to create the scam accusation topic in the scam accusations board. In the topic body give the link of the investigation topic as well once it will be created. Posting the sensitive information in the Investigation board protect your privacy from Google and other search engine. They can not crawl those data and expose your personal information.

Feel free to PM me if you need help. I am online for the next one hour or so.

PS: When you take the selfie, make sure you hand write your BticoinTalk username and the username in localbitcoins in a paper to prove that the photo indeed had taken for this purpose.
6868  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Move/Sweep Bitcoins from wallet to wallet on: July 17, 2019, 05:14:18 PM

Yes, usually it doesn’t matter. But some wallets use a different derivation path, which means that you need to specify it while restore the wallet to get the same wallet. That’s actually also what changes between a Bech32, Nested Segwit and Legacy wallet (each has an different derivation path) and you can actually create multiple wallets from the same seed.
Yes, I am aware of this. And I think with the OP it's the case. Also in Electrum if one use extended seed and then if they forget about it but use only the regular seed then they will see a wallet but that's not the same wallet they had originally.

To help OPs case we really need to know the above information those were asked already and with that OP needs to make sure that he has not used extended seed as well.
6869  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Move/Sweep Bitcoins from wallet to wallet on: July 17, 2019, 05:05:06 PM
Was this seed originally created on Electrum?
The client software those support seed - were they have to be the same software? I always thought it does not matter. Once someone has a seed then they can use this seed to restore using any client software that support restoring using seed.

The client software needs to be same when it comes to wallet.dat file I believe. Like the wallet.dat file of a bitcoin core is not gonna open using Electrum client.

If everyone likes one spot then there is no issue, conflict of interest comes when the other person like Tennis and another one likes to watch cricket  Cheesy, it will be one heck of a situation, i have recorded the entire match as i was certain that England is going to win by a narrow margin but never expect the match to be this close and declare the winner because ICC said so  Cheesy i made a bet on Federer v Djokovic and hence it was nerve wrecking for me when Djokovic lost the second set 6 to 1 i was thinking that Djokovic fucked me over once again as i lost a lot of bet during 2017 Smiley.
Man! Talking about betting it reminds me the nightmare memory of this cricket world cup. I have lost over 0.1BTC. In the England vs Sri Lanka match alone I have lost 0.05BTC :-(

Back in the tennis match, I was expecting Federer to win the match but I know that it will not be easy for both of them whoever wins it and indeed it was not an easy one. In fact it seems one of the match that will be remembered for very very long time.
6871  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Move/Sweep Bitcoins from wallet to wallet on: July 17, 2019, 04:52:09 PM
There are nothing like sweep I think. Pretty sure you have messed up with the seed of the wallet that is why you are not seeing any balance in the restored wallet.

You said you created a new wallet with that seed.
I created a new wallet with that seed in the hope that the bitcoins would appear from
the watching default wallet in to the new wallet with seed.  This didn't happen.

With the same seed you actually do not create a new wallet, you restore the wallet with a given seed. May be some of the question was asked by the user above will help us to guide you.
6872  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How LBC blocked my 5000$ without any reasons on: July 17, 2019, 04:41:52 PM
How the hell that hermanproudfoot account and Peppapig is the same? Just looking on the profile of those 2 where on is being created 2 weeks ago and that Peppapig was created 3 years ago.LBC support response isnt really that convincing on my part which they havent clarified and using up privacy as an alibi.A very hard situation and also local authorities cant help out on this one.
It's the ID that was given was same for both account.

I have a question: why did the verification system successfully accept the same ID two times?  How does localbitcoins protect user data from being re-verified by other people?

That's a very good question. The issue should be spotted at the time of verification. By the way, I just want to be clear here: You are the real owner of the ID?

Thank you for answer! At first, I thought of posting my post in the scam accusations board, but then I realized that it did not correspond to the topic of the section. The exchange detained my funds and does not want to give them away, they offer impossible solutions to the situation and I do not know how to resolve this issue.

Assuming you are the real owner of the ID and in that case you should create this topic in the scam accusations board to get the targeted people for your case.

Have all the information including the transaction ID that was sent to localbitcoins account also try signing the address to prove your ownership of the from address of the transaction.

If you provide solid evidences then you will get good attention and hopefully this will awake the localbitcoins team to resolve your case in a priority base. We have seen so many examples that were solved when the awareness were raised in here.

Good luck bud.
6873  Economy / Reputation / Re: kenzawak hacked (again) on: July 17, 2019, 04:33:44 PM

Would it be wrong to leave a negative trust feedback afterwards, now that negative trust doesn't mean that someone is a scammer?

Well although leaving a red trust does not effect like it used to be but if kenzawak get the account back and can prove that he indeed got it back then I do not think it will be appropriate to leave a negative trust since it's with him the original owner.

May be a neutral can serve as a reminder that the account was hacked twice but now it's with the original owner.

Partially my fault, partially kenzawak's fault (after all, they got hacked twice in a short period of time). I'd probably ask for half from him, he'd state that he's not here to trade and deny all responsibility despite being on DT1 with positive trust feedback. We'd carry on with life afterwards.
Still it's very unfair for both the lender and the original account owner who did not actually request the loan. What if the original owner does not have the money because the given some was very large amount.

The only way I think is very safe for both party is the requester signs a message with their BTC address every time they request a loan.
6874  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Live now supports Bech32 addresses! on: July 17, 2019, 04:02:27 PM
Something may be bugged with ledger live and native segwit addresses (may be a bug, this is a new feature)
I am pretty sure it's a bug.

Since every thing is very clearly showing on the blockchain, I would say there are nothing to worry for Backslash77. The balance are in his wallet. According to the transaction on the blockchain 1 BTC was sent to the address 3KodMvBcdXdUfNMV5v8Fe1rvrzRibPzoZw and the rest were gone to the changed address which is bc1qssyu9sxgczgvtdxt3jctf7kxf4gh50qx2zxp0d  is this case.

~snip~

You don't have to expose your private key. Electrum allows you to create a new wallet using a hardware device. If you don't connect the device then Electrum will act as a watch-only wallet.
I never felt to try my Ledger Nano S with Electrum. If I ever do then may be I will write a short post about it.

Edit:
~snip~

According to this page, you have to create a new account. I can't give you any further details since I don't own any Ledger device anymore.

I have Ledger Nano S. I will try later today and will post an update on this topic. Hopefully it will help us to understand.

I can confirm that one needs to update their Ledge Live to have this feature for your Ledger wallet.

@Backslash77
Can you try to Clear cache of you Ledger Live?

Go to the settings icon on the top right corner, next to synchronize.

Click and then go to help tab and finally find the Clear blue button to clear the cache.

Not sure if that will help but worth trying.

But anyway, you don't even need ledger live, as you can generate native segwit addresses using Electrum+ledger nano. Much better control over your funds also.

Some people don't want to use Electrum for some reason. This thread is targeted at people familiar only with Ledger Live.
I heard that there is a risk involved of exposing the private key. Never tried it though.
6876  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Something I noticed when sending USD from Coinbase to my bank account on: July 17, 2019, 03:23:26 PM
Today I sent a small amount of USD from my Coinbase account, to my bank account. It says I will not receive those funds for 3 full days. Any other bank in the world would make that transaction almost immediately. Why does Coinbase take their sweet time? That is cruddy. Coinbase treats fiat like it is crypto. I am glad I do not have funds in Coinbase anymore, well, in a few days I won't.
It's their procedure. Like it or not, you have to accept it.

Anyway, I still wonder that Coinbase has customers even after they admitted that they sold their customer data. The crypto was meant to protect ones privacy.
6877  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Live now supports Bech32 addresses! on: July 17, 2019, 03:17:08 PM
Ledger has just released a new update in which support for native SegWit addresses has been introduced.

Thank you. I was missing that for my Ledger wallet. They supported legacy, wrapped segWit address before.

Anyway, updating the ledger live will be enough or we need to do anything else to generate the native SegWit?

Edit:
What I realize that just updating the live will work fine.

To start using native SegWit in Ledger Live, please create a new account and transfer your Bitcoin to it.

6878  Economy / Reputation / Re: game-protect abusing the trust feedback. on: July 17, 2019, 02:35:31 PM
LOL seems like game-protect is taking a vacation or something. He was last online on 14th and it's been almost 3 days.

This game protect bingo seems a perfect fit for him :-P

Does this guy or the team or whatever have any real client? If there are any then those must be some bunches of crazy people as shit :-)
6879  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Crypto Green FX - use fake client feedback on: July 17, 2019, 02:28:48 PM
It's a common practice for the scammers to use fake pictures, now using fake feedback seems another common practice. I have seen many people post in the service section for paid review. This is purely unethical.

Good thing that you bought the site in attention.
6880  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How LBC blocked my 5000$ without any reasons on: July 17, 2019, 01:53:19 PM
You are in a very tough situation. If you are the real owner of the ID then the other guy must managed your ID illegally and was using it for his localbitcoins account.

Now, I do not see how this case will be resolved.

Asking help from the local authority for what?  Identity theft?

If you file the case then how they are going to get the other guy?
Will localbitcoins disclose their information if the local authority ask?
How would they (localbitcoins) know that the request for disclosing information came from the local authority?

If you failed to provide further information then what happens with the fund that was locked? Will localbitcoins keep them? Can they really legally keep the coins?

Have they locked the other account too?

I think this is what could be a possible solution.
Send the coin back to the address it came from. Lock the other account too and if there are any balance to the other account then also send those balance where they came from once that other guy will ask for his funds.

By the way, I suggest you to move this topic to the scam accusations board and also follow the proper format so that you get attention from the DT members. Here is the format to follow:

Scam Report Format
