How do I turn on HW1 support?
you need to install from sources; HW1 is not supported in the current executables.
Any reasons to why these aren't standard or are they not 100% ready?
I'm also interested in the answer to this.

it is because the developer who is doing the builds did not receive his HW1 yet

That does not explain the lack of Trezor support also in this current build.

And can someone give step by step instructions on compiling it with both HW1 and Trezor modules?

2 strange things in this release:
1. The default transaction fee was changed from 20000 satoshi (0.0002) to 50000 satoshi (0.0005 BTC) per kb
2. The default unit was changed from BTC to mBTC.

Yes, I noticed the change in default fee. It's a bit high to default at 0.0005btc. You can change the default fee in "Tools/Preference" anyway.

This is because the previous version was rounding the number of kilobytes in the transaction.
The new version uses the number of bytes to compute the fee, which is often smaller.

I have found that using a fee less than .0001 per kb results in the tx taking up to ten blocks or more to be mined. Better off paying .0001 per kb and getting the tx mined in one or two blocks.
1384  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [NOW AVAILABLE] BTChip / Ledger HW1 : Bitcoin Hardware Wallet in a USB smartcard on: March 05, 2015, 03:08:21 AM
Are these things still being shipped? I put an order through on hardwarewallet.com and it never accepted my payment =( ... I sent the BTC and it confirmed and I confirmed the addresses were the same. I never received an email or anything. I emailed hardwarewallet bout it ...
Anyone got ideas?

How long ago did you buy? When I bought mine there is no confirmation or contact after paying. They just mail it out and you receive it by regular airmail or registered airmail depending on the country you live in.
1385  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 2.0 release on: March 02, 2015, 03:39:38 PM
The download page says no Trezor support in this initial release. When will it be available and why was it necessary to leave it out?

Like all of the other scammer's Chris is a cunt as well just not as useful

He's a pathetic, sadistic cunt for dragging out his not paying for so long instead of just closing up like he should have done.
1388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: LTCGear.com SCAM - Enough is enough, lets get some info together on: February 26, 2015, 01:56:26 PM
sadly yes, we can do nothing about this, this is what encourage chris to keep on putting on promises there, well we will see how this end, this weekend gonna be interesting again if he dont show up

But it is

Quote
two days of management week are required to be used several days earlier

Makes perfect sense.

 Shocked
1389  Other / MultiBit / Re: I sent btc from MultiBit, but it's not seeing on blockhain on: February 26, 2015, 10:22:31 AM
Just checked that tx on block chain.info and it has 8 confirmations (as I type).

Yes, but he sent it over 18 hours ago so it took 17 or more hours to get included in a block. After two hours it wasn't even seen by any peers yet. I think he may have been having some intermittent network issues on his end?

After all, Bitcoin, BTC is going to be replaced by XBT.

What is for DigiByte (hopefully in the bright future) --> XDGB, XDB, XDIG ? or Is it necessary at all ?

The "X" is required to be traded on commodities and futures exchanges. Not necessary until the market wants to speculate with big bucks in DGB.

New ETA.  The week frame has now turned into 2 weeks.  No waves of functioning wallets.  He's just f**king with us now.

He's been fucking with everyone for over two months now. Took you this long to figure it out?
1392  Other / MultiBit / Re: I sent btc from MultiBit, but it's not seeing on blockhain on: February 25, 2015, 08:12:29 PM
Has it been seen by any peers yet?
No.

Has it been seen by any peers yet?
I've sent it almost 2 hours ago.

That transaction was for test purpose but I think there is a serious problem in Multibit.

Your firewall could be blocking mulitbit from using the internet. Check the firewall and look for entry for multibit. Make sure multibit can use the internet.
1393  Other / MultiBit / Re: I sent btc from MultiBit, but it's not seeing on blockhain on: February 25, 2015, 06:36:24 PM
Hey

I sent btc from my multibit account, but it is not seeing on blockchain, also not reached to receiver address. But it's show in my transaction history in MultiBit, with TX id.

Here is details:

Receiver: 1E5q2gKsy1iRLqRCg8PuMX555LV5icWRmE
Amout : 0.0004
Fee: 0.0001
Tx: 0e363017db7f5489e5d13c565bd8a7565918b34275251858d2b316dbc9a558d5

Has it been seen by any peers yet? How long ago did you send it?
1394  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Newbie question re transfering bitcoins on: February 25, 2015, 02:41:46 PM
Hello Onkel Paul, Thanks for your reply. OK, I bit the bullet and set the Bitcoin wallet transaction fee to 0.01 and the SEND amount to 0.04. I then hit send and a few seconds later the 0.04 bitcoins showed up in my Electrum wallet.

Electrum says the transaction is "Pending" so I guess that means the transaction is getting confirmed by various miners? Is that true? Is my understanding correct?

Update: The transaction now has one confirmation so it looks like everything went OK. About how many confirmations will it get? Thanks,

Advait

It is possible that your old bitcoin client might be not working correctly right now because there have been some changes in the blockchain which it probably can't handle properly.
But a new version of the bitcoin-qt client should be just as able to work with your wallet as the old one.

In any case, you should make sure that your old wallet.dat is copied to a safe place, i.e. a place where it can neither become lost nor be stolen.
Wallet.dat contains the private key for the address in which your 0.05 bitcoins are held, so you need that file to spent those bitcoins or part of them.
After saving the file, you should install the newest bitcoin-qt. It should find your wallet.dat and is hopefully able to read it.
Now comes the hard part: If you did not use bitcoin for 4 years, your bitcoin client will need quite some time to catch up on the blockchain (I presume you have enough free disk space for the blockchain database).
You might be better off with a fresh download of the blockchain (it's available as a torrent, you should look at the official bitcoin websites for a pointer so you don't fall for some bad stuff).
You can only spend coins from the wallet when the client has been synchronized, because it needs to know whether the amount has been spent before.

Overall, it might be a time-saver to export your private keys from the old wallet.dat and import them into electrum, then you would see the balance immediately and did not have to wait for the download. However, I don't know anything about how you'd do that with electrum, I just suppose that it's possible. Of course, doing that means that you would not experience how sending and receiving bitcoins works in practice, so the other option might be preferrable even if it is painful :-)

Onkel Paul

That fee was too high. Should have been .0001.
1395  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Newbie question re transfering bitcoins on: February 25, 2015, 01:38:02 PM
OK, I followed the steps, entered in 0.001 bitcoin to send, then clicked Send and got an error message saying "Error in Amount". Any way to fix this? I'm scared to transfer the full amount for fear of losing the 0.05 bitcoins.

Thanks,

Advait

There should not be an error in the amount. You should have 0.001 in the amount box and it will put 0.0001 in the fee box. Is you old wallet fully synced to the blockchain? If not fully synced it won't let you send anything until it completes syncing.
1396  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Newbie question re transfering bitcoins on: February 25, 2015, 12:32:33 PM
Hi All,

Back in 2011 I got 0.05 bitcoin for installing the Bitcoin wallet (version 0.3.20.1 BETA) on my Win 7 laptop. I recently installed Electrum on my laptop. So I want to now learn how to play around with bitcoin.

I want to transfer say 0.001 bitcoin from my old Bitcoin wallet to my fancy new Electrum wallet. It looks like all I need to do is the following steps:

* Make sure my laptop is connected to the internet.
* Click on SEND on my old Bitcoin wallet.
* Copy and paste one of the Receiving addresses listed in my Electrum wallet.
* Enter in Amount, From and Message fields.
* Click Send
--- Then the 0.001 bitcoin goes out to the internet and comes back to my Electrum wallet and appears in the Balance column of the correct Receiving address.

Is it really that easy? Or am I missing something?

How long should it take before it appears in my Electrum wallet? Does the transfer happen only after my transfer request is confirmed in the blockchain?

Thanks for helping a newbie,

Advait

Yes that is all you need to do.

I wonder if these modifications mean multiplication?  The site has been down long enough now and usually in the past when these do occur.

Muliplication? Are you out of your mind? Who cares if he does multiplication? Nobody is ever getting paid again anyway. Jeez!  Tongue

I'm also getting a bit worried, but I am still hoping that Chris is only trying to do his best to fix things up.

Still worried? The point to stop worrying was about a month back. Anger should have ended two weeks ago also. Acceptance has come and gone for most people. If you get anything now it is like putting on an old coat and finding money in the pocket. Getting paid anything should be a shock and a surprise.
1400  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 2.0 beta version on: February 23, 2015, 05:18:10 PM
Thanks to all beta testers! Electrum 2.0 will be released this week. Expect us.

Will it support Trezor? Beta 2.0b3 seems to have Trezor hardware wallet support removed.
