12584  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon? on: July 29, 2015, 01:48:06 PM
I don't think Bitcoin will ever replace the dollar or euro. One of the facts is that it's price is very volatile. But I do think that it will become mainstream one day.  Roll Eyes
12585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethercoin | Redeemable 1:1 for ethers | Official Thread on: July 29, 2015, 12:07:42 PM
I am using the Ethercoin wallet - Qt for windows

Still unable to unstake some coins

Under menu: Options/Main  I have set Reserve to 99999999 which should unstake all my coins
but this had not had the desired effect.

Any other advice?

Try looking for ethercoin.conf in your appdata directory. In there, set this: staking=0 then save it. Hope this helps.

Any hint on how to get started? It seems very complicated to work with Raspbian/Linux  Huh

Over a year old and still going strong, with many more games on the way including a space MMO using our currency.

Open command prompt, then cd (or change directory) to your wallet's app location (.exe).

Example: If ethercoin-qt.exe is on Desktop, you would write cd C:\Users\Your Username Here\Desktop

After that, write this command in your cmd or command prompt:

ethercoin-qt -reservebalance=9999999

Try it and see if it works  Grin
12589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paycoin: The Scam that Was {Video} on: July 28, 2015, 06:33:19 PM
Paycoin is dead a few months ago.
Now it is slowly creeping downwards. I feel we could see 1k before the end of the year.

Too bad that Gaw's reputation had damaged the coin's image. The current developers should add new features to the coin. Maybe that will attract other's attention. If Paycoin resurrects, I'll surely go back to the $20 mark (maybe?)  Sad

not a chance, it's dead.  why on earth do you think it could be revived?

Because there's a new development team working on it called Team XPY (which is not Gaw anymore). Maybe they can come up with something new. I don't know. I loved this coin when it was in it's early days. Now, it's price is going lower, and lower. Perhaps I should exchange my XPY back to BTC  Sad
12590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Minning in android on: July 28, 2015, 02:23:40 PM
In fact you can mine using your Android device. Try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miner&hl=en

Please note, that Android devices are not very efficient for mining purposes. You might end up with getting your devices burned before you ever get some profit.

12593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [XMG] Coin Magi - CPU mining guide on: July 28, 2015, 01:53:26 PM
Great guide! I was looking all over for this. I'd better starting mining XMG on VPS rather than my own PC. (it seems to get very hot)
12594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / How do I start mining on a Raspberry Pi 2? on: July 28, 2015, 01:49:41 PM
I've recently ordered a Raspberry Pi 2 from ebay (cost me $42) with the interest of mining alt coins with it. I already own a miner, which is a Gridseed GC3355 but I don't know how to set it up with my newly purchased RPi.

My questions are the following:

How do I install the drivers for the miner in the RPi?

How to properly configure cgminer on a RPi?

Please help. I'm still a noob when it comes to configuring miners. Thank You.  Smiley
12595  Economy / Trading Discussion / Decentralized BTC exchanges? on: July 28, 2015, 01:43:46 PM
Isn't there any decentralized BTC exchange around? One that doesn't require ID verification among other things (like Cryptsy) in which I could trade BTC anonymously?  Huh

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks  Wink
12596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paycoin: The Scam that Was {Video} on: July 28, 2015, 01:40:55 PM
Maybe Paycoin will rise again in the near future? I haven't lost my hope yet (and also didn't invest what I couldn't  afford to lose), so I'm holding my 80 XPY just in case  Roll Eyes

Still putting your money with this guy?

He has proven time and again that he's in things for himself. Only a block head would still be here.

Time for me to dump those coins. Will exchange them back to BTC.
12599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is Nvidia Shield Tablet good for mining? on: July 27, 2015, 02:58:53 PM
As previously said, you will burn out the tablet or any other device far quicker than you will even earn enough to withdraw from most pool sites.  So in the end, you would have a broken tablet and wouldn't even be able to withdraw anything.

If you have the money for a tablet, you have the money to buy an S3 or S5 from Bitmain.  Go that route and you will be a lot more pleased with the end result.

Thanks for your replies. I had the feeling that my devices would burn up in the intent of mining. If you hadn't warned me, my devices would be fried up today. I'm going to save money to buy an Antminer S3. I think I will get ROI now that I get electricity for free.  Wink
12600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Is Nvidia Shield Tablet good for mining? on: July 27, 2015, 02:15:23 PM
I've looked into the Play Store and found a mining app. So far it's been working for me on my Samsung Galaxy Lite but I don't know if this mining app will be efficient in my Shield Tablet. I think I would be able to mine more coins with it now that its a pretty cool tablet with excellent specs good for gaming.

Mining app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miner.pro&hl=en

Specs: http://www.engadget.com/products/nvidia/shield-tablet/specs/

Would you give me any recommendations for mining on this tablet? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.  Wink
