...
The difference between a soldier and a terrorist is the terrorist knows what he fights for while the soldier does what he's told. ...

...

I'm pretty sure  plenty of terrorists are just as, if not even more, mislead about the true reasons they are being sent to fight than soldiers of big countries like the US.

Really? So soon already?
1244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Correlation between mining costs and Bitcoin value and ecological nightmare on: June 28, 2011, 10:45:44 PM
Won't the more direct relation between electricity consumption and profit result in more efficient hardware that use less electricity, as well as an increased stimulus for reaching for sources of electricity cheaper than what big power companies provide?
1245  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can you name a single US federal department that hasn't been corrupted? on: June 28, 2011, 10:41:08 PM
Do you mean whether they ever had people doing corrupt things while working for them, or if they have corruption going on right now?
1246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Strange subcent transactions on: June 28, 2011, 10:39:36 PM
I haven't (at least not yet); could these 'coins be tainted somehow (like being bought with stolen credit cards) and this be an attempt to attack Bitcoin by trying to get people to be forced to give up their money due to suspicion of being involved in criminal activity? (in Second Life, there have been some instances of such attacks, people donated stolen money to their target and then LL charged treble damages of the victim, somtimes even resulting in negative balances and loss of data)

Do those peeps over in those troubled areas have any idea how bad it looks for them to try to get in the way of free press?

Perhaps we need some rules about requirements for the contents of the posts for eligibility?

Also, perhaps it would be good to have a forum section for things like this where posting doesn't add to your post count...

^^^^^^^^
Whats with all the rules all of a sudden? If you want rules then join the army buddy! Bitcoin
is a free for all, the rebalution is coming at you and it shaped like a chimp

If you did't want rules, there would be no need for the software, just come to someone and say "i pay you a hundred mindcoins" and if the person agreed they would be 100 bucks richer, on the other hand i could just come along and say "i used to own 42 teramindcoins, but then you paid me 100 bucks, i clicked my heels and now i'm 96 teramindcoins richer and your balance is negative"...
1249  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanity bitcoin addresses: a new way to keep your CPU busy on: June 28, 2011, 09:14:06 PM
If mining hardware was instead dedicated to generating new addresses; how long do you think would it take till someone stumbled on an existing address that had more BTC stored than what the person would have earned by mining?
1250  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Islamic Bank of Bitcoin? (16 BTC ) بنك بتكوين الاسلامي on: June 28, 2011, 09:05:01 PM
ableorange , tiagotiago

Thank you for your interest in this project Smiley

Would you be willing to invest/buy shares in this project in the future?

I currently don't got enough money of my own to be comfortable spending what i have; and i would rather not promise any money i don't know yet when i'll be able to pay. When the time come when have the money avaiable, i'll look into investing some in this project among other things.

1258  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transaction Fee Question on: June 27, 2011, 02:38:06 AM
1 BTC shouldn't trigger the mandatory fee, somthing isn't right...
1259  Other / Off-topic / Re: Last Person to Reply Wins 1 BTC! on: June 27, 2011, 02:34:23 AM
How long do you imagine this will last 'till the first 12 hour rest?
1260  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transaction Fee Question on: June 27, 2011, 02:19:33 AM
There is already at least one thread about the decision to change the fee from 0.01 down to 0.005 (instead of leaving it to choice or using a different value or  using a different minimum amount as threshold to start charging fees)

I don't see it. Who made the decision?

So does this mean that there will now be a mandatory charge on all BTC transfers???
It's supposed to only be for the smaller ones from what i understand
