1403  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Lust for Money?] Why are so many people around here careless with their $... on: March 26, 2013, 04:56:00 AM
I don't need rep.  I only buy bitcoin, I don't need trust from anyone in this community or elsewhere.  I give the cash, give me the coin.
1404  Other / Off-topic / Re: chat with a scammer on: March 26, 2013, 04:33:23 AM

This community has way above average intelligence.*
*...or at least we did in 2011 before Mega-Bubble 1.0  Cheesy
and plenty of history with warnings telling you to be careful.

Lending huge amounts to strangers based (partly) on reputation at a site that looks like a spreadsheet?
  • In 2013, is bitcoin-otc (or WOT) really the "Gold standard" for rep in our community?
I never bothered to use it, so my only record of transactions is PM's.

...or the thread title:
Why are so many people around here still so careless with their $ and BTC?
Please discuss.

You say this and yet you've never bothered to use #bitcoin-otc.  ;;getrating bit_happy

Think about all the stupid things Google announces that are met with disinterest.  Remember Google Wave?  I liked that one.

1415  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fedcoin: A centrally-issued alternative to peer-to-peer currencies on: March 26, 2013, 03:33:57 AM
I went to the Federal Reserve Bank in my City and they gave me a free bag of Shredded Federal Reserve Notes.  I asked the woman what she thought the future of cash might be, and she asked me if I heard of Bitcoin.  I then showed her my Blockchain and she was turned on.

True story.

Dank is correct here.  Problem is most people have calcified their pineal gland.  Decalcifying is just the beginning, the next step is activating the pineal gland which seems to be possible by visualizing your pineal gland and imagining it being tickled by a feather.  Also remove caffeine and nicotine from your diet.

1419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Shared Send vs Bitcoin Fog on: March 26, 2013, 01:50:07 AM
Don't be too surprised, many people are just here to get rich, anonymity is not a huge concern for the average forum poster here from my observation.  A more security minded group might be found on the darknet forums for various markets.

Why not test yourself by using both sites mixers with a small amount and then checking the taint % using blockchain.info?
1420  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking to begin selling Bitcoin Locally In Pittsburgh, PA on: March 26, 2013, 01:36:01 AM
Any advice on the best way to get a smooth and fast process going?

Got the capital to get started, just not a programmer and would be interested in partnering with somebody with programming knowledge...

I just don't wanna be doing it manually, running to CVS or Walmart every time somebody wants to buy some coin.

Looking to raise local awareness, and not gonna lie maybe make a little profit Wink

If you can help me out send a PM

have you checked out localbitcoins.com?
