1441  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Where to invest my Bitcoins? on: May 07, 2017, 04:26:39 PM
The main thing is not to start gambling. An investor is less risky than a player. But still there is a risk, because this is a dangerous business
But I am not seeing gambling business a dangerous one for the gambling owner/investors. I guess gambling industry will turn as trillion dollars industry in very near future itself.
As @Drago pointed out investing in gambling will always be less risky for the investor than the player simply because of inconsistency in how
players bet and that recipe of greed that is always there...It should be safe to invest in established gambling companies provided you do some research
in knowing who you getting in business with!
1442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to control greed on gambling? on: May 07, 2017, 03:59:54 PM
Controlling greed is like controlling your emotion. I think before you ask on how to control greed, you should know how to control your emotion. Because if you can utilize your emotion and you know how to do it, you can manage greed and other things that you think that will lead you to addiction.
in a certain way greed does go along with emotions and if it gets the best of us...we tend to make poor decisions and lose control of how we gamble!
The best solution to control greed is a positive mindset and stay cool headed.
1443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use Social Media for Bitcoin on: May 07, 2017, 01:12:05 PM
Social media is very effective to spread the word about bitcoin to all people.Using social media to get the attention of our friends about Bitcoin is a good idea but it depends on the type of friends that you have. If majority of your friends are not open to new things and like to use the mainstream then theres a low chance that your post will be noticed
Agreed type of friends will matter a great deal!
Social media is really a powerful tool and if used correctly it would be easy for our own friends to get to use use bitcoin as we have vouched
for the virtual currency to be legit with a real life examples like buying a book which would startup a chain reaction and reach not only our friends
but a larger audience
1444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ViaBTC: Should we active Segwit? on: May 06, 2017, 09:46:22 PM
Voted yes to active Segwit, Out of 1589 votes 81% are in favor of Segwit and only 19% are not.  I hope viabtc consider this poll on what to support or if they are supporting HF, I hope this poll will make them consider and see that lots of Bitcoin enthusiast are in favor of Segwit and start broadcasting their support for it.

Let us hope this is the beginning of the end to the scaling wars. Forgive, accept and move on. Progress must be made.

I agree, it is time for Bitcoin to move forward with Segwit activated.

+1

Look what great result it brought to LTC. I m sure something similar would happen to BTC price as well. Who would not want that?

MOVE it Viabtc.  Grin
voted YES to activate as well because we can not remain neutral about this as it will divide the community in half with two different Bitcoins emerging

and if the proposed fork fails to deliver whats expected of it am sure we can revert back to the old version
1445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why only now many countries recognize bitcoin as a virtual currency? on: May 06, 2017, 08:11:18 PM
reason is simple many countries have come to terms and understand that bitcoin been a digital currency can not be manipulated through hacking unlike ordinary fiat banks that suffer from such attacks

- bitcoin at any one time has a public record of how much bitcoin supply is in circulation unlike the manipulative national currencies we have

-been an online currency it has been running for over 8 years now without any downtime proving its worth
1446  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-04]Bitcoin Price Has Set a New Record on: May 06, 2017, 05:14:37 PM
New high after new high. More and more people are getting into btc after they hear about its price in the news it's gaining more recognition day by day which is awesome.
Yep from not on bitcoin will continue to set new records up until the moon and am sure many users who were spectators will continue
whining about not buying in while bitcoin price was low

Quote
The thing is that not only btc but alts are getting attention as well , BTC Dominance is now around 56% so we can conclude that alts are traded more and more, just hope that we will get an answer for a scaling problem this year as it will enable us to even grow more and I am looking forward for other merchants to accept btc.
the equation here is easy HIGH PRICED BTC= HIGH DEMAND FOR ALTS

Well have also become more conscious on how we spend our bitcoins and its just a matter of time before mega stores join the cryptocurrency race to help revive demand.
1447  Economy / Gambling / Re: IMPORTANT ★ Your password may have been stolen!!! on: May 06, 2017, 04:32:54 PM
it is not only possible-it is imperative that one uses only unique passwords
password managers are free and can be installed in one click
well, there is a risk of the password managers themselves getting hacked, but this is a whole different level of threat
as a first line of defense its high time we make an effort to protect our funds and accounts by preventing this from happening using
the above suggestions as it would really go a long way.

Quote
also if the user:login in plain raw text I don't think its Bitslers or any other gambling site's database-they store paswords in salted hashes
(at least they should do) and it is pretty useless to steal those as they can't be deciphered easily

It would also help if gambling sites that can be accessed through bots make it mandatory to prompt users to change passwords after
a certain number of days by email verification to protect their users accounts!
1448  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ✰ [ANN] BITMIXER.IO ✰ High Volume Bitcoin Mixer ✰ on: May 06, 2017, 08:11:24 AM
I think they are another company for bitcoin mixer and they have used the name same as bitmixer so that to get the visitors to their site and with that they want to attract even the clients of bitmixer by keeping the same name.
this is taking scamming to a whole new level which also poorly done if this is another company because the are literally sharing all bitmixer(s) information including the official contact details
_______________________________________________________________________________ _________

If you open both the sites/links you will find that they have everything copied from bitmixer and it looks like they are mirror of bitmixer even the name on the browser is also copied from bitmixer and the only change of the name is their url. They are scammers. People have to stay away from that mirror site.

Basically not everything..i have have discovered that they have not copied the signature handle https://bitmixer.io/signature.html of which theirs[http://bitmixir.io/signature.html] points to an Object not found!

1452  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Post your SegWit questions here - open discussion - big week for Bitcoin! on: May 05, 2017, 01:27:39 PM
Was reading about Segwit here so from what i understand a hardfork is basically making bitcoin more like an alt and a softfork will just enhance transaction speeds and not necessary changing existing code...as the 'bitcoin core' camp intends to just make transactions smaller which still keeps it as bitcoin unlike bitcoin unlimited which changes the chemistry of bitcoin to an altcoin...If it sounds as simple as that why is this still debatable??? BU is an alt nothing more....who are the real stake holders to implement these changes
1453  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin improve the economy of a country? on: May 05, 2017, 11:07:33 AM

YES bitcoin could help improve the economy of the country because it would mean learning new skills which could not only benefit the individual but the country too as they would now afford to pay their taxes to help develop it ,and the country can adopt the cryptocurrency technology to improve on efficiency, promote accountability of resources and improve on financial management.
1454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next big thing? on: May 05, 2017, 07:40:29 AM
Why is ICO a model of financing a project most popular?

ICOs are popular because they are the only exclusive financing source you find investors ready to invest in cryptocurrency

Quote
How come there is no better ways of funding, instead collecting money before task is done? Why we must play how whales wants?  What happens when ICo funds are spent, ICO2? What would be better solution?
Generally an ICO is suppose to give developers a glimpse whether users out there will welcome its idea/plan and use it and if its not successful most likely it work take off....and ICO funds are needed before task because project is at the planning stage and when funds are raised they now go into next phase of product development.
1455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC getting too expensive to gamble with on: May 04, 2017, 11:49:35 PM
What other cryptocurrency are you using and which casino are you playing at? BTC is getting to expensive to be depositing and playing in just BTC.
I guess we expected this to happen but am still using bitcoin because the other cryptocurrencies am holding can not be used for any gambling pleasures and am a bit reluctant in getting altcoins because there is a high risk of whales wanting to dump their hold should there be a bull run of the alt
and might end up losing on my short term investment.
1456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a source of income? on: May 04, 2017, 11:26:54 PM
Leaving something which is certain for something uncertain is plain stupid unless you really know what you're doing or you just getting really bored by your job.
there are many reasons why someone might leave their current job for a startup like bitcoin were they can learn new skills and later
on apply them to earn a good paycheck...it might not happen there and then but its bound to happen, sometimes we just need to make risky
decisions that will either build us or destroy us.

Quote
Bitcoin is not something absolute that could really make you always earn.
Considering bitcoin as a side job is right but never think of leaving your current job for the sake of bitcoin or any crypto coin.

imo bitcoin is still young and if you get in early and learn new skills with it..its likely to reward you for your time you invested
1457  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is more profitable: a gambling site or a dating site? on: May 04, 2017, 09:21:05 AM
Today a question came to my mind that which site will be more profitable a gambling site or a dating site?

gambling sites are by far more a more profitable industry because they are profit based and very

unlike most dating sites which make their money through advertising and affiliate Networks depending on how much traffic it can generated .

Quote
Actually I want to find out that in which place people are more interested and where people mostly want to go to get fun.

Most people will be more interested in gambling than a dating site for entertainment pleasures , the money factor and just to pass time.
1458  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: localbitcoin is it safe? on: May 03, 2017, 08:50:08 PM
hi im interested in buying some bitcoins im from the uk, i recently signed up on blockchain under the impression i could "ping-it" but, alas, i didnt ping anything and im left with a btc'less account also they have no blue buttons to click or ways i can buy BTC under the uk options of buying.

so... local bitcoin has some ppl on there offering btc by bank transfer but if i send my bank details to them can they somehow draw more out than is agreed or could they basically rob me? on another note i dont really want to meet people in person unless i really have to but to me this is a big step backwards being a didgital currency an all if its the only way i can get my paws on some.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
Try to use very highly rated sellers on LocalBitcoins. That way, there's a lot higher chance that you'll make a successful transaction.
times have changed and everybody is getting smarter and dealing with highly rated sellers might give OP a probable chance of not getting scammed but these days accounts can easily be bought and the best alternative solution will get you off your comfort zone... and not to compromise on your safety try out an in person trade and opt for a public meeting as a safety precaution.
1459  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-03]Bitcoin Price Continues Historic Highs Toward $1,500 on: May 03, 2017, 04:34:26 PM
There will be a lot of such articles in future  Grin

Not really. The way the price is headed, we could cross $1500 in a couple of days time.
Then the articles will talk about Bitcoin's path to $2000.  Grin

And then we'll see articles about 2500 .... 3000 .... 3500

Journalists need sensations, after all. And it's always nice to read. When the price goes up - it's wonderful!
We need to see more of such headlines as they are not only nice to read but they also entrust investor confidence not to shy away from bitcoin.

The Japanese will remove the imposed 8% consumption rate tax in July, so after that there will be normally more people going to buy bitcoin and then the price will rise further, cute  Wink
these are certainly determining factors that will make bitcoins existence more favorable and trigger more demand for btc.
1460  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BITCASINO.IO IS SCAM on: May 03, 2017, 12:35:30 PM
100% SCAM, I LOSE 15$, I BET MARTINGALE 7th and lose
to be honest you are been unfair on BITCASINO.IO by calling them a scam just because you run out of luck and had a long losing strike
of which 7 bets isn't much though ,and just a piece of advice MARTINGALE works best if you have some deep pockets to double your loss and recover using the strategy.
