1161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will Casino Investors Become Worthless Someday? on: August 16, 2017, 10:09:07 PM
Seems casinos have found a new way to fulfil their bankrolls. Instead of asking for investors money and sharing profit during all the time, they open ICOs, ask for initial money, sell the tokens and buy it later, it's an one time profit chance for investors...
Its not yet known if they will no longer accept external financing(investment) after their respective token sales but one thing is certain, running a gambling business is profitable and will make any future winning payments easy to make regardless of the amount.

Are all casinos going throught this path or will some of them continue using the good and old method of allowing investments and sharing profit with investors?
Other casinos might follow suit depending on how successful current ICO's goes and if they will mange to run the business profitably after crowdsale too...we should see more get on board
1162  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin go pass the 5000 USD mark? on: August 16, 2017, 07:18:25 PM
We have always been told there isn't a wrong or right time to buy bitcoins because the price is still expected to go up
and for the time being we are just  a fraction of what people have predicted...i guess its a good time to invest in bitcoin.
will it go pass the 5000 USD mark?
We are not far from $5000 and i believe we wont stay in the four thousand range for a long time either...time to buy bitcoins is now.
1163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will survive after 100 year ? on: August 16, 2017, 06:39:43 PM
Depends on the community.
I agree as a community we have the power to keep bitcoin alive for as long as we would like to see it survive...

If they keep dividing, there will be hundreds of coins named bitcoin. I don't think it can survive, but the blockchains' idea will.
If we  are going to have more splits in the future that makes those bitcoins altcoins nothing more! And bitcoins survival will depend on whether the btc devs stay united and agree on the best implementation for bitcoin we could go all the way.
1164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most Successful ICOs? on: August 16, 2017, 11:21:51 AM
According to https://themerkle.com/5-of-the-most-successful-cryptocurrency-icos-to-date/ The DAO raised just over 150 million USD that should put it in contention for most successful ICO despite project being abandoned...

Then according to https://www.coindesk.com/150-million-tim-draper-backed-bancor-completes-largest-ever-ico/ Bancor has been said to be the most successful after it raised approx $153m in ether which IMO pushes it to #1.
1165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Wallet? on: August 16, 2017, 07:37:01 AM
There are different kinds of wallets for Bitcoin. Bitcoin Core wallet size is too big. That's why we use wallets like electrum.

Are there any reliable wallets we can use for Ethereum?
Looks like you want an eth wallet that has nothing to do with downloading the blockchain, well you in luck with ethereum all wallets i use do not require these downloads which might be Inconveniencing at most times, you can either use https://jaxx.io/ or https://www.myetherwallet.com/ which are reliable because you have easy access to your private keys and no need for unnecessary downloads.
1166  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin a good way to invest your money ? on: August 15, 2017, 06:56:56 PM
To be honest bitcoin is not a ticket to get rich fast because its associated with volatility and risk which do not make it the safest investment but you can gamble and hope bitcoin demand keeps growing to secure big profits for that fat cheque after some time....we all need to do our due diligence to avoid losing money.
1167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you plan to quit the altcoin world? on: August 15, 2017, 01:42:00 PM
Not a chance, the altcoin world just got a whole lot interesting

as I have seen so many great projects come on board that any of us can invest in and get a good paybay in the future.

It is a false thought. If bitcoin helps us make a lot of money, why should we give it up?

I might be wrong but i believe bitcoins success also depends on the existence of altcoins so giving up alts not a great  idea, and people are getting good profits from it to
1168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think will be the number1 coin? Bitcoin or Etherium? on: August 15, 2017, 09:34:14 AM
What do you think will be the number1 coin?
Cryptos now have specialties where they can be number 1 in their categories for example monero is the best for privacy, other coins are been used for medical aid, other coins are good for gaming platforms.
Bitcoin or Etherium?
All coins have different strengths and purposes but In terms of market cap between the two cryptocurrencies bitcoin is already number 1 according to https://coinmarketcap.com
1169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are you using bitcoins for? on: August 10, 2017, 02:13:45 PM
I use bitcoins for gambling, trading, shopping and other small expenses i can write off using my bitcoin debit card.
Not forgetting investment which is quite profitable both short and long run.
1170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you invest in ICOs? on: August 10, 2017, 07:38:14 AM
Hi,
this thread I want to ask you: Why do you, if you do, invest in ICOs?
I see horrible huge amounts of money going to those. What do investors think to get in return?
Mostly it's the same case: ICO starts, much money comes in, you get the coins.
That was back then, things are slowly changing because investors are now more careful and prudent in where they investment money
Investors invest in projects that are probable that the investment will payback with an interest

But what if those coins do not get back the initial worth?
Its not going to happen over night it might take years for some projects to reap profits its all about patience
Or do you invest because of other reasons?
Some projects are practical and are aimed at helping people more efficiently with the help of the blockchain technology...which makes such worth investing in

1171  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-09] Starving Venezuelans Turn to Bitcoin Mining in Desperation on: August 09, 2017, 10:57:11 PM
Just how long will this go on if people are detained for Bitcoin Mining which is there only way to survive...

It seems like every time Venezuela makes the headlines the country's economic situation seems to worsen probably because of political instability but can this be attributed to the heavy dependence of oil? If thats the case why not diversify their economy to save it because i Know most south american counties have some nice natural sightings  which could attract tourists and bring in revenue.

1172  Economy / Economics / Re: On what year crypto in general will be massively adopted? on: August 09, 2017, 08:42:40 PM
cryptocurrencies are still growing in popularity and we are the stewards to help others know how exactly the technology works and how cryptos will benefit us from their use which is going to take some time before cryptos gets massively adopted. Maybe with the help of our governments this can be done within 5 years otherwise general adoption might take a decade
1173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When did you start gambling? (Because of BCT Promotion?) on: August 09, 2017, 05:43:03 PM
Can't really remember but i started off with bet365 which is way back before bitcoin gambling.

Before I play poker thru facebook and I sell the chips that I won but here in bitcoin I start by claiming faucet at their website and collect it so I can have balance others are giving a free tip.
I do not know why people keep recommending faucets and why they keep using faucets themselves, faucets were a way to learn how to use the bitcoin technology, now you can learn by viewing a single video on youtube, faucets seems, at least to me, to be on their way to eventually disappear.
I do agree with you, before gambling was common with bitcoin, faucets were the trend to help users new to bitcoin to familiarise themselves with the bitcoin technology and was later adopted by bitcoin casinos to allow users to try out their casino games without depositing a single satoshi but seeing how fast the crypto community is growing am certain these will be phased out.
1174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: August 09, 2017, 05:16:44 PM
I think if Cristiano Ronaldo played at the beginning of the match then the score sheet would be double.
Scoreline double Huh i disagree becauuse football is full of surprises and the game of soccer is played on the pitch not on paper, besides Manchester is in better shape than they were a season ago.

Because Karim Benzema was totally flop. But Isco and Bale created some good chance but due to absence of Ronaldo those attempts were in a vein. Ultimately, Real Madrid won and showed their capabilities to win without any star player.
Hat's off to Zidane.
Real Madrid even without Cristiano Ronaldo are still full of star players and to be honest Madrid's win yesterday was routine as they have been playing as a team for a long time and players know each other well unlike Manchester who are still trying to build the perfect team with their new signings
1175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the other crypto currencies that exist? on: August 09, 2017, 12:55:08 PM
Next to Bitcoins there are several different other crypto currencies like DASH, ETC, ETHEREUM, LTC, XRP. Do you believe in them? Are there any Advantages and/or disadvantages?  Huh
I do believe in other cryptos and they have quite a few advantages that have been created on bitcoins foundation
for example monero(XMR) now is popular for its privacy which does not require the need of using a tumbler like we do with btc
Ethereum not so different from bitcoin but has a faster block times which has made it popular and given it an advantage to be a contender of being the top cryptocurrency
1176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $400 to invest, any recommendations? on: August 09, 2017, 09:34:47 AM
Hi All,

I have a few ALTS already, but want to invest some more.

Does anyone has some good recommendations to look in to  Grin?

Thanks!

If you still interested in investing your money... you could try the ICO market, for starters you can have a look at https://enjincoin.io/ which is the first of its kind smart cryptocurrency for gamers and has a network of over 18 million gamers which makes it one of the largest social gaming platform and good investment.
1177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is happening with ETH? on: August 09, 2017, 07:18:07 AM
Is there something behind this up?
My guess  is ethereum is riding bitcoins wave or basily people now have a couple of extra dollars to invest in other altcoins like eth.

Any ICO?
Probably all eth funded ICOs are collectively behind the pump.

I know almost coin is up, but ETH is pumped hard
I was thinking bitcoin is what is being pumped hard as compared to other alts??
1178  Economy / Services / Re: [INVEST] I Want to invest 0.5 BTC + on: August 08, 2017, 10:25:53 PM
Other than investing your money in an ICO or something you could pretty much use your listed skills to help market startup companies and get paid for it. Have a look at some of the freelance tasks in here >>https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0
1179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where is the safest place to open ethereum wallet ? on: August 08, 2017, 10:13:02 PM
As far as I know https://www.myetherwallet.com/ is one of the safest eth wallets i have used and you get a backup of both a private key and encrypted Keystore File(json file) so your $2000 worth of crypto coins should be safe and remember we are responsible for our own security, avoid clicking links that could compromise your wallets.
1180  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin: At Only $500 on: August 08, 2017, 08:57:06 PM
I have seen ethereum crash to less than a dollar price all in one day and recover back up again which gives me no reason to think twice about it. I would definitely go ahead with buying bitcoin at whichever price it were to drop to as it can recover very fast from panic buyers wanting to buy a bag load of bitcoins and wanting to be rich fast. But as things stand bitcoin is in a good financial position and the crash wont be happening!
