1241  Other / Off-topic / Re: Job Vs Bitcoin on: July 20, 2017, 10:42:47 AM
Hi, I was wondering if I should quit my job and focus more on bitcoins? Because I think it might get me even richer without a job?  Grin
No need to quit your job, try to manage both jobs especially that you plan to become richer, afaik once you leave that job there is no going back and there is so much skilled labor out there looking for jobs like yours.

There are many people kept on trying for Jobs because many people will believe in Job. If you focus on both the Job and Bitcoin it will help you lot in the form of financial freedom to your family. Right now who is having Job are looking for the second source of Income, so might Bitcoin will full fill our dreams.
Precisely, the only way to manage financial resources better these days is having a second job if you are not paid enough money and let us not forget there are lots of people job hunting who do not know of bitcoin and for you knowing about it should be a privilege

1243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fees - I Think We All Been Scammed on: July 19, 2017, 03:48:34 PM
blockchain.info also have high fees.
Blockchain.info is not an exchange, and you can set whatever fees you like.
Edit to add: the spam allegations are misdirections coming from the usual corner
Yes, because this address looks like the user is making some lovely transactions to their many, many friends.
wow, over 200 thousand transactions in roughly six months  :-\and are you insinuating that this user was a segwit supporter
There was blatantly a spam attack.  And the fact that BTC transactions became nice and cheap again right after a scaling solution (SegWitx2) was found says quite a lot about what those transactions were.
In as much as this could be said as a spam attack bitcoin should prove itself to the world that it  can handle such transactions regardless, but whatever their intentions were... things have improved a lot and network should be able to handle the load
1244  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price of bitcoin before 1st August 2017 on: July 18, 2017, 08:38:16 AM
With the price decrease in bitcoins as on June and July, do you think the price of bitcoin will fall below $ 1000 before 1st August 2017?
Below a thousand dollars will not be possible before 1st August because demand is still there as can be seen by the fast bitcoin price recovery and others users are just uncertain with what to do with bitcoin whether to buy, sell or hold...IMO price is stable and anything below this price range $1500-$1800 will automatically invite panic buyers to play
1245  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is blockchain.info wallet safe? on: July 18, 2017, 08:00:01 AM
its been removed by the bitcoin.org site that says a lot. but then again if you go to the .org site you`ll notice newer wallets appearing so im not sure what to think since these new wallets are coming out of nowhere.. outside from the desktop ones.
How odd, as far as I know blockchain.info has one of the highest number of users as compared to the listed web wallets there which also says a lot

I didn't have any problems with blockchain.info wallet whatsoever and I'm using it for the last 4 years. The only issue I've had is the confirmation email not getting to me and that's been resolved in an our or so. So if you ask me, it's good and it's only safe as you are making it safe.

Everything is safe if you keep it safe. No doubt web wallets are dangerous but blockchain.info does provide option to create seed for wallet hence reduce risk of losing Bitcoins. But still it is better to go for wallets like Electrum if you can easily access it on both desktop and mobile.
Agreed if you choose not to be careless with sharing your email address and the alike that should keep you out of harm's way and i think blockchain.info is as good as desktop wallets because i honestly think its advantages out weigh using other wallets and its just convient to use.
1246  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you guys keep track of all your cryptocurrency investments? on: July 17, 2017, 10:24:25 PM
I've been investing in cryptocurrency since the end of may and I find it hard to keep track of all the cryptocurrency I'm investing in.
I know your pain, i have no idea what i have left in old wallets and where are they...
I lost track long ago, one day i will search to find them all like pokemon's Wink
For starters use a desktop pc and not a smart phone to help organise your stuff easily and if it helps you can tabulate everything to serve as a reminder using word or excel
1247  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Money 💰💰💰 on: July 17, 2017, 09:54:26 PM
Money is one of our most important part in our life and we all work for money. I accept that money can buy a house, car, dresses and all things which we need in our day today life.
Its a major player in our lives thats why other people can go to the extreme to get it

But can money bring us true happiness???
True happiness can not be bought with money because you will always feel cheated

A small incident which is making me feel if Money is the only thing we need in life. One of my cousin is married and have 2 kids and the younger one is just a year old. They are planning to leave their kids with their parents and go to a foreign country to earn more money. I cant imagine if both of them can be happy without seeing their kids or money has made them to take this decision. Do you think its a right decision?Huh

Also,Why is money so important in our life?
I see selfless people trying to secure the future of their children and any parent could do the same especially that the kid is in safe hands with the grand parents, and this is something temporary they will be reunited once they settle in the new country
1248  Economy / Speculation / Re: Invested when BTC was at 2550 and 2320. What to do now? on: July 17, 2017, 08:25:50 PM
Hello,
I bought into BTC when it was worth both 2550 and 2320 for my personal trading.  I now have 0.2007 BTC and not sure when I should get out.
No need to panic its not manditory that you need to always sell

I have lost in total a hundred dollars just to the price of BTC.
You have not lost any bitcoins just a change in value Roll Eyes which is temporal

Is it worth it to get out now or should I wait for it to go back up to these prices?
you can choose to break even by waiting for prices to recover as we are not far from the the price you bought your coins

or you could find a good altcoin project to invest in and wait for your profits..only problem both require you to wait
1249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: affiliates as players on: July 17, 2017, 07:37:51 PM
Hi!

I have some questions for members here who are affiliates.

1. Do you play on your casino partner's site or you just maintain a strict affiliate partnership?

the best casino affiliates are players themselves because they are usually up to date with the latest happenings of the casino and are able to assist others with certain simple problems as they go on with their ambassador work

2. If you are playing as well, do you use your affiliate earnings to bet?
Most definitely its hard to resist because payments are made in casino accounts
1250  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When will the market begin to grow again? Your thoughts :) on: July 17, 2017, 07:11:28 PM
When will the market begin to grow again? Your thoughts Smiley
I see market has already started to grow maybe because people are now understanding what necessary steps to do when all bitcoin implementations are done, and i must say news sites need to disseminate more of this information to help  prevent people from panicking

Recently, because of the upcoming hardwork bitcoin, the cryptocurrency market is falling.
When will the market begin to grow again? Your thoughts  Wink
The moment people understand and have confidence in the system we shouldnt be far from seeing growth for btc especially after the fork
1251  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-14] August 1 and the Potential Disruption of the Bitcoin Network on: July 17, 2017, 01:58:21 PM

I read this news as soon as I woke up, I was so sad that I thought of not posting this news here in the forum, to be honest I did not want anyone to post this news here in the forum just to not create more panic
It's just a couple of days no need to get sad or alarmed, as a matter of fact, we need to be excited that this is finally happening after waiting for so long for a fork. Just hope this turns out to be a fruitful change over

In the next days or weeks, it will be very dark.
That's one fact for sure as we get closer to Aug 1, the bitcoin network will no doubt have less activity
and it will be prudent of us not to make transactions during this period as advised by bitcoin.org to avoid been scammed as a result of the possible Chain split
1252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you login to a gambling site with Twitter, Google or Facebook Id? on: July 17, 2017, 07:11:18 AM
With so many instances of data being compromised these days, I think we are better off not signing up with our social media handles to avoid being stalked or identity thieves from getting on to us...the best solution is avoiding this route to access services

If we can keep our identities secret, I think we'd better keep our identity a secret. We never know what will happen, what we do not want can happen. Problems with fellow gamblers can also happen, so better not log in using fb, twitter and others.
Most crypto gambling sites understand the anonymous concept that's why they don't have this enabled
1253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin mixer or self mixing? on: July 16, 2017, 11:34:55 PM
And that could be with bitcoin mixer aswell (stealing)? Maybe you can recommend one thats not scamming?  Smiley
The only option you have here is to use a well established mixing services such as Bitmixer.io which strives to maintain their reputation and remember to always use the first generated Bitmixer code to prevent receiving your own coins from past transactions to help cover your tracks.
1254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How are you sure that Bitcoin will be operated in the bank in the future? on: July 14, 2017, 12:53:28 PM
I do not see banks adopting the idea of using bitcoin as its a decentralized currency and the bank can only operate on centralized circles, but one thing is for sure they will adopt the blockchain technology as its easier to audit transactions that go on there and its one of the safest and most transparent tech system to use today.
1255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can bitcoin wallet be hacked by hackers? on: July 14, 2017, 09:20:30 AM
can they hack into our wallet.
Yes some wallets could easily be hacked, take for example a blockchain wallet with an easy

There are many professional hackers out there. What are the chances?
They might be many but without the right tools and information, they are not any better and I think chances of people getting hacked has greatly reduced as most of these scams have been exposed and we are now more aware of safeguarding ourselves.

Also what is the safest way to safeguard ourself?

-We need to avoid clicking random links and know how legit links/emails look like to avoid being phished and let us look for wrong spellings they are a dead giveaway!
-And we need to activate the first line of defence 2fa!
1256  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet vs Exchange on: July 13, 2017, 10:20:43 AM
Choosing between a Wallet or an Exchange will come down to what you intend to use your bitcoins and how frequent you will be using your bitcoins and for what purpose. For a user like me who trades less 90% of my coins will stay in my wallet for easy access and the rest can stay on an exchange, then for users who are day traders more coins are likely to be stored on an exchange for faster trade executions.
1257  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-12] After Black Tuesday, Bitcoin Price, Altcoins Showing Signs Of Recov on: July 12, 2017, 11:03:53 PM
We have seen it all and should not come as a surprise at this stage but just like a trade cycle with its 4 stages :  Recovery, Boom, Recession, and Depression. Cryptocurrencies seem to follow the same traits and the previous fall in prices we experienced might have been caused by people cashing out their cryptocurrencies ahead of August 1 which caused the Depression of the crypto market and now the market is healing(Recovery) and we should expect a bull run next(Boom).
1258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2017 Football Summer Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 12, 2017, 02:51:21 PM
lacazette is a very powerful addition
Arsenal need a clever player and a good move on the pitch; Wenger will have a very strong addition in front line, Alexander lacazette of the most outstanding strikers in Europe.
lacazette with Lyon has performed very well and dazzled everyone and with Arsenal will be able to make a lot.
This is a very good buy on Arsenals side considering the pedigree of the player and from his former clubs his managed to at least be among the top goal scorers of the respective leagues( some good stats under his name) and I believe England will be the perfect challenge for him and should fit right in.
1259  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin Price is going down ? on: July 11, 2017, 08:18:49 AM
Many traders are pulling out profit from bitcoin that's why bitcoin price is dropping and people are moving money from alts to bitcoin that's why all alts are in blood bath. All this is just due to panic on the market triggered by news about possible split of bitcoin network after activation of segwit on august. I am strongly holding all my bitcoin and alts right now and will only sell for profit.  Grin
I agree, the price drop is all pinned down to panic and fear of what is to come on the first of August and looks like people are playing it safe by moving their monies. I honestly think the bitcoin market would have looked better if people researched more on what is to come to avoid all this. Listening to FUD speculations might cost us by gifting the whales with cheap bitcoins because people have different agendas in all this.
1260  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallets - Multiple Questions on: July 11, 2017, 07:46:01 AM
-snip-
I'm confused by the wallets and feel like I've found mixed answers around the web so I figured I would try my luck here.

  • Do I need to download a wallet for EACH currency I own/mine or is there an a downloadable wallet that holds multiple currencies?
Its not mandatory to download a wallet but if the coin you want to use has a provision for a web wallet you could use that.. and great news for you there are a handful of multicurrency wallets but you can take a look at https://jaxx.io and  https://bit.ac

  • If I delete a wallet from my hard drive do I lose all my coins or can I just re-download the wallet and get access to my coins as long as I have the address/password saved for the previous wallet?
If you have the private key to the wallet stored separately your coins are safe and address/password are not good enough to secure your coins

  • Is there another good site/forum/place that would go into more details about wallets in general?
Look no further, BITCOINTALK is your answer... you will be amazed at how much information is available to you right here on the forum
good luck with our journey
