1261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is working fine! No change needed! on: July 11, 2017, 12:03:57 AM
To my mind, bitcoin is a full-established cryptocurrency that doesn't need any fixes. For sure, as the time passes, it needs to be upgraded and improved, but not now!
Absolutely right! Bitcoins are extraordinarily leading the crypto market. Bitcoins do not have any serious flaw but room of improvement is always there. At present, there is nothing that should get fixed but with the unsteady world economy, it will need certain improvements.
A few months ago you would not be feeling this comfortable to talk and use bitcoin confidently because it took to long for a transaction to confirm and other people got scammed because of this when users would receive bitcoins with low fees such that they would get dropped from the network and other party loses out in the process but right now Bitcoin is working fine and it will work better when prices go to the moon as we would have less network spammers by then...
1262  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: What do government regulations REALLY mean for Bitcoin? on: July 10, 2017, 11:02:16 PM
government regulations could most likely protect bitcoin users from scammers and all other ponzi schemes but i honestly think this would hurt bitcoin business more as they will be exposed to these regulations which might come with fees and make running of a business difficult...this could come out worse than paypal which has the seller protection, but with bitcoin one entity will always come short.
1263  Economy / Economics / Re: Who supplies us bitcoin? on: July 10, 2017, 12:45:13 PM
Bitcoin, in my opinons has had it up and downs, but who supplies us bitcoin?
When you say supply bitcoins in this context it becomes ambiguous to explain nevertheless bitcoins are mined for them to be available to us

Faucets can only supply so much before it gets closed down. So that's not a big supplier.
bitcoins from a faucet are clearly up to the owner to load some bitcoins there so that they are available to us... not like they have closed down.

Working for bitcoin has declined. I used to make videos and earn bitcoins. But that site has closed down like every other sites or faucets. So who supplies us bitcoins nowadays? Tell us please!
I thought earning bitcoins has increased as you can now opt to be paid in btc for any task completed and more businesses can pay in bitcoins today
1264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How does an airdropped coin get's its value? on: July 10, 2017, 08:11:30 AM
I am just curious, how an airdropped coin actually gets it's value.
What I have noticed is usually airdropped coins have a high supply and this kind of distribution is meant to grow speculation which naturally grows into demand and rise in value

ICO's in contrast are pbacked by ETH or BTC, but an airdropped coin - out of the sky - doesn't have any value at first.
Price of some coins is determined by how it performs during its ICO stage but  without an active community to show for its worth nothing. Airdropped coin get their value rather slowly as the grow with time don't expect a high value on the onset of the project

So how would an airdrop then work in that case? How does it have to be structured that it's a win win situation for both parties involved.
Basically airdrops are structured to stimulate speculation and grow its community and project, which is a win win situation at the end of the day
1265  Other / Off-topic / Re: Should I Go To College ??? on: July 10, 2017, 07:41:39 AM
To answer this question you first need to know what you want to do in life because no one needs to find themselves in a career they do not love! Do not go to college for the sake of it, get educated and not schooled. If opportunity presents itself take it and go to college

Hi everyone,

What advice would you give a HS senior in US about to decide on and/or enter college ?

You really need to think about it. If you feel you don't need to, you don't need to force yourself. What we must give is not an advice but a push to make you decide.
Some people tend to make wrong choices because they had no one to talk them into getting a tertiary education so i guess a little bit of persuasion won't hurt especially if they are family, they will thank you in the future
1266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: August 1 needs to be today... on: July 09, 2017, 11:05:56 PM
It's not good, it seems some people are switching to Litecoin for retail payments, I like BTC a lot but I don't like the way this coin is treated...
I wouldnt say they have switched and abandoned btc. I think supporting other alts like ltc also prolongs the life of all other altcoins out there inclusive of bitcoin.

it's like it's left alone doing nothing about it and meanwhile lots of altcoins are trying to take over...
it might seem like nothing is being done but the Bitcoin system is different from other altcoins as btc needs a consensus to be reached before any changes can be done
BTC looks like a fat coin barely moving right now folks while whales are taking as much as they can on its back, it needs to be light and have speed... if something doesn't change after August 1 will probably consider other options as well, I've believed too much in one coin and missed others on the road
it might seem like this because your eyes are focused on bitcoins only when other coins are equaling getting a beating but come August bitcoin is going to write history
1267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Switching to Etherum on: July 09, 2017, 10:22:42 PM
Hi guys!
It has been a few crazy months for bitcoin and its price. Did that affected your gambling activities?
its been a roller coaster but the problems we were faced with bitcoin affected me in a positive way as i gamble less and avoid losing money

Are you considering switching to for example Etherum?
Not a chance, so much drama surrounding eth and i have never gambled with it either

What do you think is the greatest advantage and disadvantage of bitcoin gambling?
Yours OshiHugo, oshi.io casino CM
Advantages are you grow your bank faster without the need to wait for price to go to the moon and have fun too and the downside of gambling is the risk is high and you lose money fast
1268  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin prices rise high on: July 07, 2017, 04:08:44 PM
Many people are now curious to know what bitcoin is
I honestly think the curiosity to know bitcoin is seen as a ticket to get rich fast, nothing more.

whereas once bitcoin was just underestimated, now upside down many people stop working instead they prefer to focus on bitcoin
I for one did not take bitcoin to be something serious and i know others underestimated, but leaving your professional career for btc is an extreme decision and should be thought over unless the cash flow from bitcoin is consistent

Is this the impact of rising bitcoin prices?
Most likely! Anything that has the potential to be valuable will always get people's attention which Bitcoin has achieved.
1269  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Share With Us The Most Popular Bitcoin Forums In Your Country. on: July 07, 2017, 09:49:54 AM
If it does not say "bitcointalk.org" then it is not a popular Bitcoin Forum

Besides, why would anyone want to leave the hub of all cryto information regardless of the origin of country?
1270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin the most popular cryptocurrency? on: July 06, 2017, 11:57:52 PM
I believe that they're popular mainly because well it was the first of all cryptocurrencies to be made.
Being the PRIME cryptocurrency definitely makes it a popular choice as it has one of the biggest active communities compared to other cryptos

Honestly most of the other coins are scams and greedy ways that the developers make money. The only other coin I can think of that isn't a scam are dogecoins! What do you think?
Investors have learned the hard way with altcoin devs disappearing in thin air leaving us with their shitcoins and crashing our confidence to invest in other coins or projects.

I also believe bitcoin is a low risk investment atm that is why it's still popular
1271  Economy / Exchanges / Re: My Bittrex account was hacked on: July 06, 2017, 11:08:33 PM
sorry for your loss mate.
I have noticed this has actually happened to several people what is the best course of action to protect ourselves from hackers
as strong passwords are not good enough... maybe a combination of 2fa and incognito mode or maybe site is at fault with it's loopholes Roll Eyes
1272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it even possible to regulate bitcoins? on: July 06, 2017, 10:24:30 PM
Regulating bitcoins in a direct way is nearly impossible and the only way to do this would be through third parties that aid bitcoin transactions like an exchange or trading platform which are likely to have a brick and mortar office.

This would really need a lot of help from the ISP's and local departments and would cost a huge amount of money to rope off around 30% of the users, maybe more.  The idea would not be to catch the user's per se, but to make using Bitcoin so hard that no one would bother trying.
Can they regulate it? Sure, and they can stop crime completely by assigning a single law enforcement officer to every citizen.  Will they go beyond the current regulations?  Doubtful.

I agree, right now it is not feasible for governments to see bitcoin as an accessory to crime or any of the bad vices, and it would be a huge cost to have bitcoin under their leash which is never happening

1273  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-04]Fourth largest Bitcoin exchange. Bithumb, hacked for billions of Won on: July 06, 2017, 07:46:46 AM
Crypto is a large field for hackers. We will see a lot more of that.
That's just the thing it is not only the exchange to follow some stringent controls sometimes users are at fault with the use of same passwords which makes it easy to be compromised by the alleged hackers.
These hacks will keep going if we do not learn to follow the basic security Dos and Don'ts !
1274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin transaction fees fair? on: July 03, 2017, 03:27:44 PM
It is fair for me because if bitcoin transactions are not fair then it is already adjusted by the people in charge in declaring the amount of fees of bitcoin. Bitcoin transactions need fees because of the demand of the miners for additional profit aside from their primary income so they will continue working for bitcoin and not to migrate to another coin.

Well, since bitcoin is not governement regulated, then what we can really do with some price manipulation is to just use it at our advantage. As what the saying goes, if you cannot beat them, be with them. Therefore, whe we see that there is drastic slow in altcoin prices, then maybe it is high time to buy them cheap as these moments.
As bitcoin users we dictate how much fees we pay because Bitcoin has no interference from a central power like the government. Bitcoin fees were flying high because of spam transactions which forced everyone to pay the prices but things seem to getting back to normal as segwit2x is still being rolled out.
1275  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-03-23]Who's Buying Bitcoin? Demand Persists Amid Fork Fears on: June 30, 2017, 05:43:52 AM
Fork Fears are really out of the picture because if that was the case we would have seen a slump in price but fortunately, that's not the case!
I honestly think demand as suddenly risen as a result of the proposed segwit2x which has a possibility of improved transaction tranfers and possibly reduced transaction fees.
1276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: LIVE CASINO RIGGED? VIDEO PROOF on: June 29, 2017, 08:09:46 PM
These rigged games are really taking the fun out of gambling! The dealers or who ever is in control will always choose who should win or not and this is one of the many reasons why i believe sports betting is far much better than casino games.
1277  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you Panic? on: June 28, 2017, 05:56:05 PM
Whether its bitcoin trading or altcoin trading, there is bound to come a time when your investment is getting dumped badly, and its panic time.
I do agree crypto coins usually go through bad times and it is always tempting for one to panic but As far as i know in any given situation panicking usually just makes things worse as it clouds your judgment and should be avoided

How do you panic? Does that really make you panic and do you take decisions that you actually regretted later? Or do you keep calm and HODL?
What makes you panic and how do you react to it?
I do not panic, I try to always stay calm to avoid making regrettable decisions in the long run .
1278  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-27] WannaCry Some More? Petya Bitcoin Ransomware Attacks on: June 28, 2017, 04:37:29 PM
I just heard about this Ransomware Attacks on BBC which is unfortunate for our affected friends and they said its believed the attack was initially initiated from Ukraine and has affected several computers in about 60 countries for now, which has also seen airports in Ukraine resort to manual operations like checking boarding times as their FIDS are offline and for other companies that were prepared for this kind of cyber attack they have switched to their backup systems to go on with their business.
1279  Other / Off-topic / Re: what do you use to Buy Bitcoin with Fiat? on: June 27, 2017, 10:11:22 PM
Which website is your favorite
localbitcoins of course

and why?
its one of the  few platforms I have found to have less scammers and i did not have to provide any identification for the mode of payment I used to pay forthe btc

And which other exchanges have you used to buy successfully? (Or failures)
I used to buy bitcoins "successfully" with western union from paxful but no longer use the exchange
1280  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have been waiting for Bitcoin to reach $3000 on: June 27, 2017, 08:21:28 AM
I have been waiting for Bitcoin to reach $3000 so that I can sell my Bitcoins, but seems as if it doesn't want to reach that value anytime soon.
We all waiting for bitcoin to break this price barrier but unfortunately, prices seem to have backslid a few days before the anticipated bitcoin fork that is due on 1st August, maybe a chance for first-time buyers to get on the bitcoin spaceship but I still have high hopes that after the new protocols are implemented we just might have a bitcoin bull run that will see a rapid price rise.

SHould I sell with the current amount? Undecided
I would advise to hodl a little bit longer
