1221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most popular Altcoin? on: July 25, 2017, 04:02:12 PM
Ethereum as to be among the popular altcoins because its been in making headlines  for a long time

and for altcoins like Dogecoin, litecoin, Monero, Dash these are still popular within the crypto community despite their varying marketcap and trade volumes
1222  Economy / Speculation / Re: why is bitcoin price rising? on: July 25, 2017, 02:54:15 PM
Now the price of bitcoin is very unpredictable. During the day we can see both growth and a sharp fall. I'm a little concerned about this. I prefer to see constant growth)
I think that all this depends on the relationship between supply and demand. And once many people want to buy bitcoin that we directly see how the price goes up.
Its no surprise that price has dipped considering bitcoiners have been advised to move funds into wallets they actually have control of the private keys and this is all in readiness of the possible chain split on Aug 1

It actually dropped quite a bit today... Hopefully it'll recover later on.

Certainly when all this is over price will recover

It's the August 1st volatility already kicking in?
Probably people are just being prudent to avoid last minute transfers...certainly when all this is over price will recover
1223  Other / Meta / Re: This site take 2.3$ from me ? on: July 25, 2017, 11:26:02 AM
I ame not clear about this payment. Why they take 2$ from  us?

Is it able to everyone?

afaik it wont always be $2 has how much will be charged will depend on the units of evil accumulated on that ip, and the payment is more like a service to whitelist your evil ip and restore all forum features for you.
1224  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Exchanges versus Personal Wallets on: July 25, 2017, 11:07:13 AM
What are the drawbacks of using an exchange like Coinbase versus having my BTC in a personal wallet.
Coinbase has what i would describe harsh terms of service which takes control away from its users and they keep track of all your transactions which if breached will get your account banned which imo is not the bitcoin way of financial freedom

I am new to BTC so using an exchange has made things easy to jump into. That being said, with August 1 approaching I worry I may be losing a lot of decision power should a hard fork occur.  Cry

What specifics freedoms do you gain from trading outside of an exchange service with relation to the fork?
Lets not jump into conclusions of what is or isnt going to happen, besides exchanges will not close down because of btc fork as other assets will be available which should be business as usual for day traders so no need for an outside exchange.
1225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do I make sure to not lose $ value in BTC? on: July 25, 2017, 08:25:30 AM
If you are afraid of taking chances or risk then sell right away when you received your bitcoin
Practically correct there isn't a bitcoin service that will allow you to hold and lock in on a certain value unless you sell your bitcoins

but I think you will regret it if you do so...though bitcoin is so volatile it still gives higher return for investment its a matter of being optimistic and try to risk little of your earning you never know it can give you good income
In as much as there is risk, bitcoin holders usually profit from this volatility thanks to the rallies and all speculations that excite investors(whales) to buy more, if OP doesnt need to use the money immediately better hold or buy cash equivalent goods like a gift card
1226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] Solar DAO Facebook and Twitter Campaign [OPEN FOR NEW PARTICIPANTS] on: July 25, 2017, 02:24:56 AM
The manager has was scammed this campaign https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2043356.0
This is definitely a good project hope the dev will find a reputable campaign manager to take over from were the campaign was left despite the hold back
1227  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will be the maximum cost of bitcoin in 2017? on: July 24, 2017, 11:42:24 PM
$9,889.99,- per December 31, 2017.
this is an optimistic price but nothing is impossible with bitcoin but on a slow and steady price movement $5000 is highly likely to happen and might even go further if huge companies start to accept bitcoin payments
1228  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Falling...Is it Panic Time? on: July 24, 2017, 11:14:47 PM
I dont think panic is good, as you can see the price of  fall, but after a weeks it bounce back and go even higher. so for me theres no reason to be on panic because i believe that the price of  will continue rise and hope to reach $4000 this year.
It's no time for panicking right now, we have enough time to hold and the price is good as usual. And let's have some long term plans in  because there's a lot of people who are saying that the price will be good at the end of the year. Be calm and patient which the movement of  and other alt coins as well.

well I don’t think that the time of the panic for  is arrived yet you need to learn more still to get good profit just keep your  save in your wallet and learn more how to enlarge your money easily and how to get good profit from  because I think the price will be more high at august first and the problems of the  will also be removed.

That's a very big mistake if you panic this time and as what I had observed in reality of btc price in the market,  it has been very promising and surprisingly generating better profit as well. To those who did decide quickly and having panics sells from previous 2 weeks ago,  they're on regrets today as price eventually rising and to be compared with a skyrocket.
i think majority of people have now become too much mature and they are not selling bitcoin in right now, in fact now they have better knowledge about the price of bitcoin and and its fluctuating nature, and therefore they are now not creating any panic to sell their bitcoin even on lost but for most of the time they try to hold their bitcoin even in panic like condition.
I have to agree we have matured greatly and are able to make informed decisions at the moment.
AFAIK panicking in any given situation has never been the best choice of action and we need to stay calm and make better judgments to avoid worsening the situation we find our selves in. Instead of panic selling we should react by holding btc then try to understand the market to avoid making losses
1229  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy now... or on July 31st? on: July 24, 2017, 10:36:52 PM
The best time for those who have not yet entered the crypto currency market is to wait for Bitcoin to become 1,800 dollars or so. Shocked As soon as this happens, you need to buy. Market analysts predict Bitcoin by the end of the year a rate of 4,500 US dollars. Grin
People missed out on this chance to buy low priced coins because they had fear of what bitcoin was to become of bitcoin and now that people are informed of what is going on price has stabilized

I think the buying days are already over. From the graphs and charts it shoes that Bitcoin has started recovering. As for buying on July 31, many exchanges are already warning of closing shops to confront August 1. There's so much confusion out there about this impending split.
Buying of bitcoins will keep reducing as we head towards August 1 for the new protocols to be rolled out and we get to know what the future of bitcoin holds. For the time being, we just need to sort out our funds into wallets we actually have control of the private keys to avoid losing any uncertainties
1230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your reason to gamble? Fun or profit? on: July 24, 2017, 08:59:21 PM
Do you gamble for fun or for profit?
i gamble for profit how come that you will gamble for fun you're risking your own money just for fun?
People who claim to gamble for fun aren't telling the truth at all because you can not lose money and be okay with it, hypocrisy at its best

people now a days use gambling as their job they get money and losses money if you're gambling just for fun maybe you have lots of money to lose
it's quite true actually other people now treat gambling as a profession which makes it a little bit of both fun and profit
1231  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is It safe to store my bitcoin in Luno? on: July 24, 2017, 07:08:42 PM
As stated above , Is It safe to store my bitcoin in Luno? Here is its website https://www.luno.com/en/
When it comes to wallet safety , anything that does not give you access to your private keys should be avoided especially this time around when bitcoin is undergoing a fork, opt to use reputable wallets people have actually used for years with a clean record such electrum.
And great website by the way not tried the wallet though but out of curiosity how did you find this wallet and ignored the popular wallets  Tongue
1232  Economy / Gambling / Re: Any Sports Gambling Site that accepts Litecoin? on: July 24, 2017, 05:01:57 PM
Hello Friends!
Bip91 is activated for bitcoins and major gambling sites now require more than 5 confirmation and it can be bit troublesome when someone dont have bitcoins and he want to get some bitcoins from exchanges and that too has closed bitcoin wallets temporally like bittrex did it today.
I have some litecoins and want to make sports bet with them , so any trusted sites where i can play sports gambling with litecoins.

I have already tested betcoin.ag and today they are down. Any alternative??

I hope still time of confirmations will be reduced after BIP148. Therefore, you still be active with your bitcoins. If you wish to do deposit with the litecoin means you check with the below sites which accepts for gambling.
https://gamblingbitcoin.com/litecoin-gambling/
Please be stick with bitcoin to be safer side.
looks like list has not be updated from the given link as i noticed they still list Directbet which shut down a few months ago...Perhaps betcoin.ag is the only surviving choice
1233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you guys think about Casino and dice games? on: July 24, 2017, 10:20:00 AM
Hey.
I was just wondering to myself, do you guys believe that online casinos are totally legit
Not all online casinos are legit that is why its our own responsibility to do some research on the company before you even deposit funds there
or do you also believe that some of them are rigging outcomes.
I certainly believe that some casino cheat by manipulating some codes in their programs but probably this can only be proved by advanced users with comp skills

One of the reason I prefer to bet on sports and not on dice games or at online casinos is that I can't actually know if the casino is paying me as they should, or they tell me that I lost while I was supposed to be a winner.
Sports games could be rigged too but for the fun of it people can not stop gambling

Does the small house edge(compared to sports betting) worth the chance of the casino rigging the outcomes, making you lose sometimes while you were supposed to be the winner?

imo the small house edge is not worth it because you lose more money than you actually getting and its also possible to rig the code on this if the casino is not honest
1234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why use Bitcoins ? on: July 24, 2017, 06:56:13 AM
-snip-
I just cannot see any reason for the average consumer to use Bitcoins. Until average consumers start using Bitcoins they will just be an experiment and a small speculative bubble.
I have my personal reasons, I am interested Bitcoins them as a tech person, speculative investor and person that follows evolving treads and markets. I am just struggling to see any.. benefits for the average consumer at this stage.

-The average consumer who gets to use bitcoin could enjoy the benefits of using bitcoin and having easy access to recreational activities like gambling without sharing much of their personal details(KYC)

-The average consumer will pay less when transferring a huge amount of money which is why they need to use bitcoins

1235  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price Increasing today on: July 22, 2017, 03:22:20 PM
AFAIK bitcoin price has been recently increasing because of several factors at play like low transaction fees which has reduced greatly and bip91  locking in with  segregated witness seeming like a favourite for the community atm has probably prompted cryptonians who cashed out to reinvest their money back into btc
1236  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 1st of August split? on: July 21, 2017, 08:11:46 AM
Here is another article that can help explain whats going on which bitcoin atm http://www.coindesk.com/happen-bitcoin-visual-guide-scaling-outcomes/
1237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is the fear gone right now with the BIP91 activated? on: July 21, 2017, 07:48:28 AM
Here's a pretty good explanation: http://www.coindesk.com/happen-bitcoin-visual-guide-scaling-outcomes/

TLDR: It seems that there will be Segwit and all is good.

Nevertheless, always expect volatility. We're talking crypto here.

I think this is the reason for the price coming back up over the last 2 days now. People are aware there's not going to be a hard fork, so they're more confident in investing. The price was dropping by the day as we got closer to that Aug. 1st deadline, but then just started going back up pretty quickly after they announced no fork.
If i understand correctly from coindesks flow chart segwit was going to be activated either way from BIP 91 or USAF BIP 148 but signaling stands in at 94.4 % for BIP 91 but is the support proposal over for us to know whether it's the 2mb block increase or bitcoin split coming up...or we have to wait till november

SECONDLY, does  USAF BIP 148(soft fork only) still activate considering it will contradict with whats expected from BIP 91 and its already over 50% Huh

1238  Economy / Speculation / Re: How long until $3000 or any other ATH whatsoever? on: July 20, 2017, 03:29:20 PM
I suppose this time, the price of BTC will reach around $2900 then reduce a bit for a small correction.
Just like many other users am actually counting on bitcoin to break the $3000 resistance and stay over this price not below!

I regret I didn't buy btc last week when it's just $2100. Now I will have to wait for it go back to lower price.
The dip was actually slightly lower than $1900 and most people didn't see this as an opportunity to lock onto some cheap bitcoins. Am hoping it doesnt drop this low again because it's delaying our MOON prices

If the price keep rising and rising, I suppose I will miss the BTC train again...
why not buy now so that you do not miss the BTC train. We very much know that there is no wrong or right time to buy bitcoins so before we head over $3000 which is coming soon its now or never my friend.
1239  Economy / Speculation / Re: WHEN will BTC rise again and WHY? on: July 20, 2017, 03:05:37 PM
Ive been watching the markets sence bitcoin was 150$/BTC, i have been promoting bitcoin and the use of it for a long time, but why should BTC ever rise again? There have been a peak thru overbuying and now somebody has to pay = coin value drop.
you would agree with me that back then when bitcoin was trading @150$/BTC very few people actually even knew what bitcoin was... and now that more people are on board it becomes easier to spread and promote bitoin to others so that demand grows greatly and we see the price rise in the event.I honestly think BTC still has the potential

Hard fork, soft fork doesnt matter the value wont rise above 2k$ again?
It wasnt meant to?
You be surprised what strings bitcoin can pull and as of today we are approx over $2500 and a few days away from segwit activation am sure we are going to stay above the 2k$

I have not sold my Coins but i dont believe in 4-10-100 000$ /BTC
Maybe you conscious tells you to hodl because somewhere in you, you believe bitcoins could actually get to such prices hence not selling your coins.
1240  Economy / Speculation / Re: it seems panic is stop. time to invest everything. on: July 20, 2017, 11:35:24 AM
it seems panic is stop. time to invest everything.

Graph is keep increase.
I will withdraw 3000$ and buy now. I do not think it will fall again even if 1 August.

anyone else think like me or not?
there was no need to panic if you understand the bitcoin ecosystem and buying when prices are rising is never the best of strategies imo and going all in not the most prudent choice, good luck lad.

No I dont think the crisis has passed, there are still chances that bitcoin is going down, I dont feel secured until I know the result that will happened on August, the price maybe up for now, but I am not sure it is going to stable
atm prices seem to have stabilized and trading anywhere between 2250-2400 ahead of judgment day (1 August) and i honestly do not think the fork will have a negative effect on the price as we shall get over it fast and move on to push market demand.
