I am using dwarfpool and suprnova both are quite good. I donīt know better pools
Those are both crap-coin pools. Keep your alt-coin pools in the alt-coin thread. This is the BITCOIN POOL thread. To the original poster: Kano or ckpool would be good. Both fair and honest. Johnny Bravo's pool also. They all have their strengths. CK is just starting up - not sure if it has found a block yet. Kano pool keeps cruising along. That's where I hash.

Assuming the following, it would seem Antminer s7 is now obsolete unless you have 'free power' aka stealing
Hashrate: 4700.00 GH/s Watts: 1300 Power: $0.10/kwh Pool Fee: 2% Difficulty: 559970892890.83800000 Bitcoin price: $1995
Currently nets $1.08 per day declining about 6% every 2016 blocks. Couldn't ROI in a year assuming 0% difficulty increases at $350 acquisition price (prevailing asking price).
Does that mean it is got about $125 market value?
My pool fee is .09% not 2%. Also receive transaction fees split among a fairly small group of miners. The TX fees are nothing to sneeze at. Just recently we have been getting fees as high as 4 and 5 BTC per block on top of the block reward. I run all S9's except for a single S7 (F1 model with one fan) Using the Coinwarez calculator, that S7 provides a profit of ~$485 per year (for me) after all costs. Also, that calculator doesn't take into account any transaction fees as far as I'm aware. So I will continue to mine with that S7 until it's no longer profitable.

I'm running: Bitcoin Core version v0.14.1.0-g964a185 (64-bit); 8-core (real ones) CPU, 32GB RAM, etc. 100Mb/s connection, no data caps. Maybe that's it. Of course, another factor may be that I'm on the same cable/fiberoptic backbone as the US Navy's Pacific Missile Range Facility a mile or two down the road. We've got bandwidth up the wazoo. The number is what shows up when you hover over the "Network connections" icon in the lower right corner. I take the meaning at its face value. It takes a day or two for it to reach its max, usually, after a Core restart or Internet outage. I also, of course, have the appropriate port open on the router, as well. Yeah, the number in the bottom right corner for me is the same number that is under "Help"-->"Debug" Window. Currently 29 connections. Not really into making any changes at the moment, but the laptop Core is running on is a 64bit, Quad core, Win10 machine. It has probably 750GB of free space and 16GB of memory. Also fast cable internet with 10GB up and 60GB down. All the correct ports are open in my firewall and router. So I'm not thinking it is a host PC issue. Everything in the v 0.13 Core settings are at default settings. I thought about changing the db size, but decided to leave it alone and not make any changes since it has been working flawlessly for many months. It's no big deal as long as it is working and sharing data in/out. Could be the version of Core I'm running. Oh well. Back to your regularly scheduled program! COMEONBLOCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! Jerry Cat needs a new stash of CATNIP!!!!!! EDIT: Pool closing in on 68PH! Keep 'em rolling!

Hey there,
Hope you guys are doing good, I was thinking to start minning bitcoins with an antminer s7, I have got low electricity, free internet connection upto 3-4MB, A-C in the room 24-7 with other machines working to,
Its profitable to start with one miner?
Suggestions would be great to hear, Also suggest some better machines or better ideas, ideas would be much appreciated,
Thanks,
When you say "low electricity" what do mean? Plug in your information and see for yourself what the costs will be and any potential profits will be with a mining calculator. http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculatorYou may want to check out a few different calculators. Some give you more/better information than others. Combined, they will give you the big picture. The speed of your internet connection is inconsequential. Mining is not internet intensive. Just need a stable internet connection. Air conditioning may not be the issue. AC will be fine to cool off the room, but you REALLY need a way to vent the heat outside of the room. That is one of the most important, IMHO.

i plugged in my dust coated sp20 today & it started mining instantly...
now i see theres some concern regarding payments.
any updates possible?
I wouldn't say there is concern. Just the fact that the pool hasn't paid out on the last 3-4 blocks and the pool operator has dropped off the map. It seems to me that those who continue to blindly mine with this pool are simply putting $$ in WK's pocket. Will there be a payout one day? Maybe. Will there never be another payout? Maybe. Pick your poison or move on. Pretty simple.

Damn my 3rd block in the pool one with ahumaidan and 2 with mhumaidan
Split personality? Congrats!!! 🤣🤣 Nah. I manage the miners, buy miners and theirs PSUs, wiring, replacements and monitoring for my family as well as maintenance. Finally, I get a % of the funds of each. Thanks! Good deal! I see a post from @clgrissom3 that you are running 32TH. Is that under the single usernames? How many miners are you managing total? And what is the make-up, S9's, Avalons? Again, congratulations! And..... MINE ON!!!

The best thing you can do that will cost you absolutely nothing, zero, not a penny, free, is to read all the possible threads on this website that have anything to do with mining BTC (or alt coins), hardware, speculation, mining support, tech support, pools, etc., and READ and understand what is and isn't possible and the best options for someone in your situation. Find a few good mining calculators and see how the costs will add up and what your potential profit will be under different circumstances. There is no hurry to spend any money. There is only knowledge. That knowledge is priceless. Once you understand EXACTLY what you need to do to start off slowly and cheaply, then and only then should you spend any money and take it slowly. It may seem like you're missing out all the money that can be made but doing it right the first time will be well worth it. When you can explain BTC mining to a stranger so that they understand how it works and the costs, pro's, con's, etc., of mining, then you are ready. That may sound extreme or ridiculous, and a waste of time while you aren't making any money, but it is for the best. $100 +/- is not going to get you to any level where you will make any kind of $. You may very well want to read all about alt coin mining too depending on your total budget. That may well be the best way to start and work your way up. In reality, unless you have a few thousand dollars to put out, you may spend a whole lot more money than you will ever make. Start with what you have and see what that will get you as far as possibly mining alt-coins (if necessary) with the hardware you have or by adding fairly inexpensive GPU's. You should know off the top of your head what your power bill will be at certain levels of hash rate. Know about what fluctuations in coin price, difficulty increases, the cooling costs, the outdoor/indoor temperature. All of that BORING stuff. You won't regret it in the long run. It may seem like you're wasting time and not making any money. But the knowledge and insight you will gain will be priceless in the end. Participate in the discussions on this website and read as much as you can stand and ask questiuons. Not just broad, "in general questions" but specific questions that will take you one step farther along the path to being a serious miner with the goal of making money. Because if that is not your goal, then you are just a hobby miner and that will be a hobby that can become expensive. Best of luck to you and I hope to see you posting on different threads of Bitcointalk answering and asking questions in different threads. At that point you will be glad you took it slowly and you can look at your bank account and smile - because you will be doing something many, many people try to do but fail - make money mining. GOOD LUCK!!

Hello! I'm pretty new in the community cause I have only been mining for about a week with a couple of antminers s7 I bought from a friend.
I've been trying to find if anyone have had the same issue I'm having right now and I couldn't.
the thing is, both miners were working perfectly but yesterday I realized one of them wasn't mining at all, it had happened before but with both at the same time and it was an internet connection issue (red light, beeping every couple seconds). both share the same PSU. This time I got a red light from only one of them and no beeping at all (wich is odd) I couldn't connect with the miner with its IP so i just turned it off and back on after 10 seconds. Then they both started mining again.
It happened twice yesterday and I did the same both times. I was checking on them until I went to bed arround 11pm and the monitor started sending me mails at 1am that the same miner had stoppes mining but I was sleeping. when I woke up this morning I went to the room where I have them mining but the same miner wasn't mining. with the same red light and no beeping.
does anyone knows why is that? Has anyone got a red light and no beep?
Just curious what PSU are you using to power both S7's? Have you tried running each S7 by itself on the PSU? Do they both work without errors by themselves? You really need to isolate the cause and the S7 that is giving you the error and not try to trouble shoot them both at the same time. I would run each S7 on the PSU for at least a day and see what errors you have if any. Then you can determine which S7 is responsible. Then you can try to narrow it down to individual hash boards if appropriate. Post back and let us know the result. Without isolating the miners and checking individually, it will be damn hard to determine a cause.
