Can't complain at all about the weekend block count. Five blocks in two days is still pretty sweet!

I look back fondly to those seven-block (or more) days. We were then at ~32-34PH. That seemed like a lot for a small, lucky pool like us!  Of course, BTC price was way below $800 then. Cool Cool

But I feel that as our pool continues to grow, we will get back to those 7-block days!!  Grin
We have more than doubled our hash rate in the last year and I wouldn't be surprised if we start moving towards 100PH by the end of this year. Sure, the block reward will also decrease with paying out more miners, but we will even that out with more frequent blocks!

So, hang on boys and girls, we are moving into uncharted territory with increasing pool hash and an amazing run in BTC coin price. If the price drops it's a chance to buy. If it drops substantially, perhaps some will turn their miners off and give us a difficulty decrease. (I wouldn't hold my breath on that, however.)

Best of luck to us all!! We are in this together!!  Cheesy Cheesy

82  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New miner from Baikal on: September 10, 2017, 09:29:20 PM
Hello there,someone contacted me, and offered me "new Baikal device"...

His specs are 18 TH/s it uses 2.2 KW/H and it costs 750$ , it can mine SHA256 and Dashcoin..

Does someone know anything about this "new device", i have searched  all over the internet where i can find this, but so far all i have found is BIG nothing, and i am not sure is this scam, or is some "confidential information". But i would just like any confirmation or opinion, what do you think about all of this ?

scam

You can point those people over to the minergate chat Cheesy

Now I'm looking forward to lots of blocks here, let's stresstest Kano's server with blocks Smiley

That's the plan!

Hello Lengendary and Hero users. Newbie here. There is no need to explain hardly anything in my opinion. There are 1418 pages of information for anyone who really wants to learn. To lazy to read and experiment maybe you shouldn't be mining. Just my thoughts no one has to agree.  Roll Eyes
+1
Might not *have* to agree but but damnit... There is this wonderful thing called "search" that way too many folks seem to have never heard of and/or are too lazy to use...

I was thinking of making a 45-minute-long YouTube video of how the mining payouts and 5Nd work on Kano Pool. It would be required viewing of all new members!  Shocked  Shocked  Cool

Nah, not really. My problem is that I am too kindhearted and always want to help. I know I should leave people to their own devices and figure things out for themselves. I guarantee you I didn't require hand-holding when I started mining. I figured it out for myself with minimal questions of the pro's. Certainly not some of the stupid questions I read on the different threads each day. And they are the same stupid questions over and over....and over. "Please help. tell me everything i need to mine. i have I-Phone. how much i make if i mine on laptop?"...

I will try to point people in the direction of the "Search" function.  Grin

Mine On!!

Not a dumb idea...but, after decades in user support, I have some doubts as to whether it would really solve the problem.

Yea, I know what you mean. I have been in the IT field for decades and usually it's just easier to do something myself than trying to explain something to someone who has the attention span of a... what was I saying?  Roll Eyes  Tongue

You don't have to register at the pool, so don't see the point of having a check box Smiley

But a more visual explanation of the ramp-up time could maybe turn on the lights for some more easily?

You don't have to register, but as it says on the 2nd line of the main home page, "The pool doesn't require registration for basic use but includes indepth stats for registered miners."

So, it makes sense to register to me. Some people might be wary of registering because "big brother" is watching... Whatever...

Anyway, I was just throwing a thought out there.  Smiley

That person might have left the pool. Not sure what their user name is, but there is no one with the user name, "je_mario" running ~ 26TH on the "Stats" page. Be a shame if they did before reaching their 5Nd. A lot of people just don't understand why they are making very small amounts at first and quickly run off before reaching their potential.  Sad
Of course, might have a different miner/worker name.

And having to explain the 5Nd to every new miner who comes calling to the pool gets REALLY tiresome! They payouts page helps a little, but I'm sure it can also be confusing to a newbie. Oh well, what can ya do.... I imagine the foreign language speakers have the most trouble.

Anyway.... COMEONBLOCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool

Maybe when a user signs up for the pool and enters all of their information, they have to read a payout explanation and must scroll to the bottom of the explanation and fill a check box affirming and agreeing they understand the payout system?Huh

Is that a stupid idea or over-kill? I just hate to lose miners from the pool because they don't understand why they are making "less" per block than they were making at XXX pool when they first start and just go back to the "other" pool.

Even if they are small miners, every little bit helps us to our goal of cracking blocks.

Well, that's my early-afternoon-dumb-idea for the day.  Wink Wink Wink Grin

Mine On!  Cool Cool

 I had just purchased a home in New Jersey I could not buy plywood for home improvement as it was being sent to FL due to homes like below.
hundreds of square miles of homes looked like this:

WOW.
It never ceases to amaze me what hurricanes (and tornados) can do to an area. It usually looks like a bomb went off and scattered a quadrillion little pieces of what was once houses, building and the contents in every direction. I don't know how some people are able to survive, just by inches.... such devastation.

They are now talking about Lake Okeechobee may break it's levee's and canals. 730 square miles of lake pouring out!

Be safe fellow miners! Get out if you are able and there is the smallest chance you'll be hit hard. You don't have anything to prove and everything to loose.

Don't F**k around with it!!!

300ths at 500W, shipping Nov 2017!  Wink

I will be getting three of these. Sounds great!

Make that four. I've always to have over 1ph of my own gear!  Cool
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was just trying to be a smart-A$$ in the above post - hopefully twas taken as such!  Wink
Seriously, I have no clue regarding time-frame, specs, design, and true hash rate specs. But...
I'm also wondering is the current design of just about all the models that have come around going to remain the same or come out with some very innovative new design none of us have thought about.
I certainly hope I'm around, and will be able to get one from whomever puts it out. Most probably Bitmain, but who knows.? Price? Who knows. But if they have made the extraordinary leap to 20TH or even 25TH. That would be amazing and the cost might be that amazing also. Maybe twice the price? Is that out of line with what others may think?
If it's something like 20-25 TH/s, difficulty is going to Jupiter!!
Perhaps it would also be wise to wait for the 2nd or maybe 3rd iteration of the miner just to get any of the production trouble ironed out. Be amazing if the first batch was rock-solid. Grin Shocked Shocked Shocked doubtful...
Anyhow, I'm just rambling with a nice Friday early-evening beer buzz.  Wink
OK, I can dream. But it would be very nice to have four new 7nm miners. Then I will have that psychological point of  I shall simply have 100TH/s. But who knows what the whole BTC and mining scene / landscape will be like then. The "having" 100TH/s is a nice psychological place to be.
Of course I would still have my approximate 60TH/s mini farm.( add another 13TH when I can get my S9 controller card replaced and get the one bad hash board repaired. Not looking forward to dealing with it at present. It is in pieces and I have used some parts swapping around.
Anyway, I seriously doubt I have the ability to have four more miners in my house for many reason, power, heat nose,yada.. yada... yada  Might be time to start thinking of hosting somewhere.
OKAY, I know I'm starting to ramble... I'm making plans on power sources in my house for a new appliance (miners) that is not even a solid, material object that can be touched. Imagination-ware!Bye! Wink
Let us hit some BLOCKSSSSSSSS!!! Cool Cool Cool
That is all. You may now return to your regularly scheduled programs already in progresssssssssssss  Shocked Shocked Shocked Cool Huh
Let's get this Hurricane Irma Block Party Weekend ROLLING!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin
COMEONBLOCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! And MORE BLOCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
Ya'll be SAFE if you are in the path of the storm! If you are anywhere near the coast, I would suggest you grab your miners and loved ones and get the HELL out of there!!!
Now saying it will be a Category 5 when it hits Florida. That's CRAZY STRONG and getting STRONGER!!! Material things can be replaced, you cannot. Please think long and hard about staying in your home if you are in the path!
Be CAREFUL, PLEASE!!
EDIT: If you are old enough to remember Hurricane Andrew, it FLATTENED Florida and it only went East to West across the state very quickly. This sucker is much more powerful than Andrew, MUCH bigger than Andrew, and it is going to ENGULF the WHOLE state of Florida - South to North. The WHOLE state.
Use your head (and keep it!) Smiley
for 3 blocks  i got only 0.003  after 3 days   with 26 th  that s not good
I would venture to say that none of those block rewards were after you have reached the 5Nd payout peak.
Since we haven't found a block in almost 21 hours, your rewards were definitely below the 5Nd peak.
I'm running between 58-60 TH/s. about twice what you have. My payouts for the last 3 blocks were:
484095       0.00994972
484011       0.01015123
483998      0.01165753
                        ~~~~~~~~~~
                   0.03175848 BTC

So once you reach 5Nd, you should earn about half of what I do. Don't be discouraged. Give it a little more time. New miners here are always sad at first until their hash level stabilizes and they understand how it works. Then for the most part, they are happy miners!
I'm sure others can explain it better.

Hang in there!!  Cool

EDIT: I don't know if you've read this, but it may help explain things a little better. Or get you more confused...  Roll Eyes
