A little preface for explanation: I began this post as a reply in the Hardware thread. Along the way, I got lost and forgot that I was in the hardware thread and began writing as if I was in the Kano Pool thread. Mixed in with all of that is a smorgasbord of other info. After I started to finish and submit the post I realized I was all mixed up! LOL So instead of deleting all of my "wonderful" post, I decided to post it here. Somewhat in the middle of all those topics. Anyway, I didn't want to delete it after spending so much time writing itl Goodnight, folks. I'm beat! Sleep well! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks for reminding me... I have a dead s9 B11 board I gotta sent to CO for repair. Together with a Gimpy R4 that's over 8THs down... I keep putting it off/forgetting... Whoda thunk when I started in Feb 2014 with 2 lil' 10GHs BLF Jalas I'd ever say that about 8THs but now is still just blip in the total mining away for me. Dumbfounding that after the first 500GHs worth of s1's (and $4k for a long-delayed 1TH rig from AMT) ALL expansion and upgrades were paid from farm income (with a tidy bit left over ) ! That is most definitely great if all of your expansion and upgrades to your farm is the result of mining profits!! Wish I could have followed that path myself. But unfortunately I have had to sell my coins on a pretty regular schedule in order to pay bills and deal with unexpected financial requirements. I have been very lucky in the past year or so that with my meager twice-monthly paycheck along with BTC profits, I've been able to take care of the household bills, credit card balances, and the electric bills! If I had only been able to pay those damn things off without touching my BTC, according to my Mining Rewards page, mining on Kano only, I have earned a Total: 49.55635393 BTC! That's a very sweet earning of coins if I were only able to keep them all. One of the days I'll be able to start accumulating again! Miners and hardware do definitely "reproduce" or "procreate". LOL I started out with a single S7 which morphed into a total of three which begot an S9 which morphed into five S9's. However, after illness and contagion dangled it's dark, ugly, clouds over my mining room, I am down to two fully functioning S7's and three and two thirds S9's. What I know is that I have one S9, 600Mhz controller card (the black card) that needs to be repaired or most likely replaced. Two S9 boards (One 550Mhz and the other 600Mhz) that need replacing or repaired. And finally, a lowly S7, 700Mhz board that needs repair or replaced. I'm going to have to do this a little at a time to stretch out the financials. First piece will probably be the S9 controller. I "MAY" send the whole S9 back to Bitmain Warranty to repair or replace the black controller card and the S9 -600Mhz board. If the price is going to be too steep, I'll just have them fix/replace the black controller card and I will run two of three cards only. Or perhaps I will just send off to Bitmain Warranty and purchase the one-piece controller card that replaces the S9 two-piece and just run two of three boards. May or may not get the S7 hash board fixed. Might just be cheaper to buy another S7 if I can get it real cheap. OR..., hold off on doing that and just save up for another S9. With the coin price where it is, I'm very happy to be able to run my old S7's. Can't beat them with current parameters. Each of the S7's running at stock 700Mhz is projected to earn a little over $200 per month. With the electric cost of the S7 averaging about ~$50 per month, a nice return of ~$150 each makes me smile!! So, I'll take it step by step starting with grabbing the one-piece BB Black S9 controller from BM Warranty. That will allow me to get one more fully functioning S9 back into the battle. After that, I'll sit back with a cold beverage and take my time figuring out what to do next! I really needed to write this out like this so I could get all the jumbled thoughts out of my head and into some coherent, workable plan of action where I can check things off my list and see my progress. A flow chart would work great for me! LOL Definitely getting mentally disorganized in my older-years. Not that I have ever been extremely organized in any ways!! Our pool had some fairly sucky parts of August which made August overall pretty sucky. But being only 10 blocks behind at the end of the month was actually better than I expected as it was occurring to us, day by day. It seemed like it would be worse as it was happening. LOL But September has started off pretty well. (Just noticed in my Awesome Miner application that I forgot to switch my pool back to Kano after I bumped one of my S9's frequency from 575-> 600Mhz. So Slush just got 1 hour and 49 minutes of hash that was intended for my Kano account. Oh well, at least it wasn't antpoo! The only reason I noticed it before I went to bed and left it pointing there overnight was because I too a quick glance at my shift graph and saw a BIG dip down the graph. ) Well, as I was starting to say, September is looking like it is off to a good start. That VERY, RED BLOCKS Stats page is looking much too red and black for my liking. A lot more GREEN is what I would like to see creeping back onto that page before the end of this long, Labor Day weekend holiday. I'd like to see two or three blocks for each of the next four days! That certainly doesn't seem like too much to ask or want! I have to work a half day tomorrow at my IT job and then I don't have to work again until next Wednesday. Not too shabby except I'm not getting paid for my time off. I suppose tomorrow afternoon it will be time to watch some football, then I will take a good S9 board out one otherwise dead miner and put it in another S9 to get a fully functioning, three-board miner. Well, I intended to post about getting my mining hardware straightened out tomorrow by swapping out a good board for a bad one in another miner. Once again my wandering mind (along with a few Corona Extra Cerveza's ) have turned a short post into the beginnings of a small short-story. I apologize about taking up forum space with my roaming thoughts. I hope it wasn't too boring. Oh, yeah, I meant to originally reply to @NotFuzzyWarm about your hardware issue. I forgot what I was going to say regarding the hardware. But I do know I should remind you about "dead s9 B11 board I gotta sent to CO for repair. Together with a Gimpy R4 that's over 8THs down... I keep putting it off/forgetting..." Maybe that'll be of some help! Also, let's hope that in the next few days we will know better where that next hurricane (Irma) is going to end up. I hope like hell it won't hit the US, especially the gulf coast states. I think they have had enough for now! I also need to fill my gas tank up. Gas prices have gone from $2.19 to $2.59 in the last two days. Okay, enough! Goodnight Ladies and Gents, Boys and Girls! Sleep well and may the BLOCKS roll in overnight as the fog and clouds mingle and flow upwards filling the valleys to the peaks. COMEONBLOCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy mining ya'll!! Mine On!!!

maybe to 851,000,000,000
Sheeweet! Perhaps another ~4% drop looking at it from a distance. We shall see what we shall see in a week or so after about ~ 776 774 more blocks! I don't recollect seeing two slightly substantial drops back to back in a while. I'm too lazy to look it up. Keep on mining brothers and sisters. Whatever don't kill us makes us stronger!! Let's crash through that 5,000 level with confidence, set a new, sturdy foundation, and keep on cruising through the ionosphere! I'm in! Mine On!!

Can anyone suggest a resource that I can use to track changes in bitcoin mining difficulty? I was using https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty but it seems to have been stuck on an expected change in difficulty in 10.3 minutes over the last several days. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Yeah, just noticed that too. It has changed and it was a drop. I would just to see what the drop was. And in %. If you have an updated diff and drop %, please update us! Thanks!!

Block by 1FpieufMw! Welcome to the Acclaim Board with your 1st Kano block! This is our 3rd of BLOCK FRIDAY! Not sure if anyone noticed, but that was a "Yay! for the last diff drop" block [2017-09-01 22:35:50.125+00] BLOCK! (483048) ok Diff 100.2% (890326314057/888171856257.3) Just made it over the line Cool! Forgot we were going to get a difficulty drop instead of an increase. A drop of almost 4% is expected, but not sure what the exact number is. Bitcoin Wisdom does not seem to be updating. Anyone have the hard number?? Very nice change of pace. Let's take advantage of this lowered diff and bring home the BLOCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! We have the situation well under control! Mine On, TEAM Mates!

In the great family of Arthropods are there insects that emit sounds to defend themselves from their predators? If not, which ones? help me find the names of some who emit sounds to defend themselves. Thank you for helping me! oh yes of course the Haaniella and probably other species And also surely of some others (in the hymenoptera it will not surprise me, but I have no example that come to my mind) , it's beautiful nature
I like your post and for the most part, I don't have any problems with bugs. Spiders on the other hand, ummmmm... Not really a spider person. Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars are a different story! Or that Prince song, "When Spiders Cry"? Okay, I give up. Just being silly on this Friday evening. Love You All, and Remember, Love One Another as Your Brother! Best wishes, Everyone! And Best of Luck in all That You Do, Today and Eveyday!

So yeah, the subject says it all. I'm gonna have to cannibalize a board from another S9 whose controller has gone bad. Here's my question: The S9 that lost the board is an older S9 rated at 550 Mhz. I'm gonna pull the 550 bad board and replace it with a board from a 600 Mhz S9. I'm almost 99.9% sure that putting a faster rated board (600mhz) into a 550Mhz miner will not cause any problems. I am still going to only run it at 550. Any of you "pros" see any problems? I almost feel that it's a stupid question... but better safe than sorry! Thanks for the input! ~wp

Hey all! New to the pool, got a few S9 moved over from Slush. I have a large order of miners due to arrive next month, and I'm excited to see what we can do to help the pool! Thanks for all the support on here, Kano and everyone. -d
Hi MDTSOLUTIONS, Welcome to the pool! You are going to have to read a few post back to get my full welcome! I'm not going to press my luck! We need the LUCK for the pool!! Glad you are here!MINE ON!!

You don't know how hard it was to keep my mouth shut after promising no more talking (typing) for me last night! But I did it! Thanks for not giving me too much grief for that long post. I didn't intend to make it go that long. I was just trying to hit some good points of the pool. And, it's you folks that make it a great pool! Let's get some blocks going!!! COMEONBLOCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoy the comments and information. I moved 1/2 of my miners over last Friday. After a decent weekend and a block this morning I moved most of my remaining miners over to kano.is. Hoping to have a good week. Welcome to the pool! We are a pretty good group of folks - I would have to say we are the best group of misfit miners in the world! You see, we are all rejects from other pools and this is the only place that lets us stay. I hope you are here for the long-term. We have some bad luck streaks like every pool will have. We just don't "Expect" bad luck to continue. We "Expect" to have nothing but GOOD LUCK. And that it will always continue! But when we get too impatient, Kano will always post his chart showing how bad luck is expected every x number of blocks out of x number of blocks. Then, the "truth" of "luck" can more easily be visualized and things don't seem so bad after all. I have mined on other pools because I thought the grass might be greener on the other side of the fence. I have not found any greener grass. Just crab grass and mud puddles. I appreciate this pool because it "usually" functions like a well-oiled machine. Occasionally we will have hiccups, but problems are fixed rapidly and then we will get a thorough explanation of what happened, why it happened, and the steps to prevent it from happening again. Very few pools treat their miners like adults. No problem with that here. Additionally, most pool operators remain mostly silent and getting in touch with them is like trying to find Nemo. But as for our cruise director... I mean our pool operator, Kano. He is VERY shy and will keep his thoughts and beliefs all bottled up. Just kidding. Kano tells it like it is and doesn't sugar coat it. That's where being treated like an adult comes in. I enjoy discussing this pool, miners, and other BTC related issues. Some folks are a little less appreciative of chatter and feel the subject is black and white. As you may guess, I am a good bit more chatty and don't see discussions as black and white but as many, many different shades of grey. I try to keep myself reined in as I know I can go off on tangents easily and I don't want to irritate other pool members. Some folks get more annoyed about it than others. I apologize for my chatter (sometimes). We have a good group here and I appreciate the knowledge, information, tips, and insights that are shared on this pool forum. As far as I'm concerned, that is one of the many great reasons to mine here. No other pool can compare. I think we are an elite group. We are small-ish in hash power but that has been steadily increasing as it should. We are not "snobby". Just because we are the best doesn't mean we should taunt other miners who are less enlightened than us! We (try) to keep that a closely held secret. Okay, I will shut up now. I simply came on here to extend my welcome to the pool and wish you happy mining. But then I stepped in the whirlpool! COMEONBLOCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!MINE ON! EDIT: I just realized how long this post is. I sincerely apologize for that. I will self-punish myself by not posting anything else today! Promise.

Hello Everyone!
So I'm gonna try here for a day or so to see how it works for me (a really little miner).
...snip...
Is it good only for big miners or little miners? What would you recommend?
You will not get the best results after a day. You need to read up on the PPLNS payout method. It takes a few days to ramp up PPLNS to the full reward value. After that period then you will get a good gauge on payout. Also this pool only pays out when a block is found. It is good for miners that are over the dust level which is around 600 - 700 GHs. An S7 is well above that level, so you should be good to go. Agree 100%. A day or so or even 3-4 days will not give you a true idea of how much you can make long-term. Pool luck goes up and down and so do payout amounts. You must mine long enough for the luck to even out AND also for your miner to reach the full 5Nd.

It's always great you can go in and find it nice easy-going and hit it for about an hour and put together twenty bucks worth of coins.
no that won't be feasible for me. First I only can change once in 24hrs second it's not much money to dich my job and sit and watch stats real time 24/7 Ps I settled on f2pool and I don't think I need to hop really. Unless you live in China (or only speak Chinese) there is really no good reason to mine with f2 pool. But, to each their own.

Good Evening Ladies & Gents, Boys & Girls (or whatever part of the day it is for you), Having built and rebuilt computers and other electronics for more than the last two decades, I know this inside and out and have also learned it the hard way! Do NOT get overly confident when putting hardware together and go on auto-pilot (with a slight beer-buzz). It can easily bite you in the butt and make you feel like the dumb-ass you are! So I took my three S7's apart to brush out the dust and also use an electronics duster/vacuum to get all of the crap, dust, cat hair, etc. from the nooks and crannies. After putting them back together all nice and clean, I decided I would fire them up and run them along with the S9's for the weekend. After all, with the coin price what it is, the S7's should theoretically pull in ~$6.00 a day. ~$18.00 extra a day is always nice. As the S7's were starting up, I monitored them in Awesome Miner.... Man, those boards were getting hot!!! Too hot! Time to shut them down and investigate... Can you guess?? I knew what I had done right off the bat. I put one of the fans in each of the three S7's in backwards. What a dumb-ass I am. So an hour later, all is as it should be. Definitely time for another beer! LOL Cheers! ~Goodnight!
