They are unproven... and likely never ship in time.

Thanks no.
4743  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: In which Mem trolls Kano and kano predictably bursts into flames on: June 02, 2013, 02:31:12 AM
As long as he helps out and contributes like everyone else... then he deserves to be rewarded.

Regardless of his dickish behavior, he has helped and saved miners a lot of effort and heart ache. As a community we should reward that alone. His behavior means nothing given the results. Simply ignore that aspect and give the guy some bitcoin for his contribution. He seems to have jumped in every build and that to me is great because I want things to work and that is really all that matters in the long run. Unlike some who promise and do jack all Kano does provide support to the community. He deserves something for those efforts as do many others that don't bother to toot their own horns and fly low under the radar. If you want to critique him then do it based on what he doesn't provide not on his behavior. Huge difference between being a dick and not delivering shit and being a dick and helping out. Best option ignore em when he is a dick and reward em for what he does something good for you and the community. You don't have to provide him a miner... you can simply burn in your units and allocate some of that to him for his contribution.

Full enclousure 8 x K16 with PSU and space for linux router

Neat... Do you have an off the shelf Mini ITX in mind? Or maybe BFL has some cases they want to sell cheap... just have to scratch off the old logo.

Look very nice. I think here is many cases we can use.
marto74  if you change the  location PSU,  that will fit in mITX standard housing like Fractal Design from picture above.

For our more adventurous modders maybe this as well?

Are there any strike team to eradicate such FRAUD from the community?

Lets simply burn the office down.

See GAGE he is the leader of the dirty dozen.
4747  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Possible reason for Avalon batch 2 extended delay on: June 01, 2013, 09:59:21 AM
Seems like Yifu is scrabbling to take care of some unforeseen hardware bug that occurred to one of the earlier batch 2 machines.

word is that all units going out after May 31st will have this bug fixed before being shipped out.

reference:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1ffpif/warning_to_all_current_batch_2_avalon_owners/

I'd be worried if he we playing upwords... but scrabbling is ok right?

Looks like mrb to the rescue... and they are knocking off a fuse to resolve the issue. Scary for those with Avalon 2's for sure. I hope everyone reads this info.
4748  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: June 01, 2013, 09:41:17 AM
Interesting to look at the pics of the KNCminer boards in this thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=214285.0

A lot less parts count than the Avalon or BFL boards. I believe it's the  6 GH/s device called Mars.

Different technology, different requirements. Could you not spam KnC stuff in this thread?

Might we just keep to the topic? Start a new thread to debate the pros / cons and observations of other builds especially those that could be scams.

Neat... Do you have an off the shelf Mini ITX in mind? Or maybe BFL have a few left over cases they want to sell cheap considering they are not going to use them... just have to scratch off the old logo.

I'm going to release the firmware and driver code once it's working. I was thinking of all that stuff to protect it but to be honest that's just is a hassle. I'm going to just trust that people will choose to support the vendors that kick back a small fee. Or even better maybe they'll mine a few hours for me by their own choice. I'll put the mine-to address out there when it's time. I'm getting a lot of help/support from forum members here and I think it's better to respect that by not having locked code at all.

That's awesome. I have a lot of experience in micro-controller programming. I have a MicroChip universal programmer, and just received the module for PIC16LF1459-I/SS, and a few chips. I can help with programming, so let me know if you need any help both for the controller and cgminer driver.

Just so you know, we will still be paying a license fee to you for every board we sell.

+1 Terrahash
+1 BKKCoins

Yes same here. I think the easiest way for me will be burn in hash and get fees to him that way and to for mining software developers as well. Hoping to get the MPBM working on the boards I make here with TheSeven's help.

Having researched a number of different server chassis I found some very interesting high density GPU rack mounted 2U and 3U servers with higher wattage PSUs and are configured to throw HEAT out the back out the server chassis. Working on a Venturi type of venting we will explore the possibility of a more densely packed heat sink to heak sink configuration for the first miner for our farm. Here are some rough designs where will try to avoid using any baffling.

4752  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL not responding to a refund request on: May 30, 2013, 04:04:31 PM
Ok, I just got the f*****g refund. It took 15 days since my first attempt...

But the only thing that matters to me is the result. So now I feel much better. I saved most of the funds of this faulty investment decision...

I hope you will make it happen burnin

Of course I will!

There are no updates because i don't have any important news at the moment.
I am working 90% on the hardware/firmware at the moment.
The website is ready to launch, but I have to wait for a tax registration number from the Finanzamt.
My Company can be found in the Handelsregister Hamburg now.
Full Name:
"Burnin Electronics UG (Haftungsbeschränkt)"

BEUG!

Which mining software are you going to work with when burning in your units and testing? Something you make or revised existing GNU types?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177827.msg2278718#msg2278718 <--- Can we get an update like this OP?

BKKCoins clearly stated it will be open source and has done so a number of times on his own schedule and not before he has tested the design out.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=190731.msg2242265#msg2242265

Da Bump... when you get time please let us know about the developer chips coming early June.
4756  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Klondike Indonesia (Big Picture Mining Indonesia) on: May 30, 2013, 05:28:02 AM
So now we can come up with a tentative timeline for Indonesian Klondike production:

  • BKKCoins receives his samples in late June or early July.
  • Prototype boards are tested and passed hopefully in July / August.
  • Orders for more chips made in July.
  • Gerbers are released and production starts in Indonesia for test boards in August.
  • 25 -100 Board run for Indonesian Market September / October ready.

I may be interested in working in between 15 to 65 more boards in the AUGUST run but only if others ship me the chips and come to Jakarta and pick up the finished boards. Please PM or email me if you are interested in that arrangement but you would need a minimum order of 5 boards or 80 Avalon chips to add you to my test run in August.

Quote
Samples are promised to start shipping end of May, so don't expect a delivery before mid of June - in developers' hands not before end of June.

Since there are so many businesses build around the Klondike design, a small reminder: so far, 1700 chips ordered with me has been delegated to BkkCoins, which entitles him to get 5 sample chips from me. That might be enough to test protocol and mining generally, but it is far from being sufficient to also test fully populated boards or stacking / tiling. If you are not a developer and have chips ordered from me, please consider supporting BkkCoins and assign your portion of sample chips to him.

BkkCoins will be receiving at minimum 16 chips from Batch 1. If Batch 2 samples ship concurrently, he will receive those as well.

Excellent Steam! +1
and thanks Zefir for the updates and doing a FAIR distribution of dev chips... wish I had been in your chip order or steamboats +1

I wish my group buy would get on this as well... however I think he is keeping all the chips for his own development... not sure yet.

4759  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs Forced "On Hold For Refund" for all my Single SC orders on: May 30, 2013, 04:43:13 AM
From your POV, I assume you think they never intended to. From mine, I think they did, at least at one point, but having dropped their collective genitalia in a meat grinder, they are to lazy or too stubborn to hang it up.

Let me be clear about this point it doesn't matter what their intentions are or were they simply lack integrity.

Personally I don't have an opinion on BFL in terms of their intent I could careless because what mattered was or what matters now is for them to get units in the hands of their customers without any further delay or subterfuge and unfortunately with every declaration they keep on showing they lack integrity.

I agree with your assessment Biomech and that of the many others who have voiced outrage and concern as consumers. What I disagree with, which is only a minor point really, is that anyone needs to even think about legal matters to make an informed decision with regards to dealing with BFL in the present moment. As a consumer if you are still holding out hope for BFL to deliver on their promises you are simply not aware of what is going on and I think it is important and right for the community to clarify and help everyone learn what BFL has promised and failed to deliver and to point out every inconsistency from BFL. Simply they are not trustworthy and the consumer should make any decision from here on out based on that fact. Do not trust them to fulfill their promises as there is clearly ample evidence from their own statements they are incapable of delivering as promised. Sort of a dead horse but with the shills and multiple accounts from BFL we as a community need to stand up and defend newer community members from BFL at this point. No one should be ordering BFL units at this point given the market it would not be economically sound.
4760  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL not responding to a refund request on: May 29, 2013, 03:36:39 PM
For me, it was not a race to get a refund.

My logic was simple: I did not dare to place my order before I has ascertained that BFL could *manufacture* ASIC miners. Having that confirmed via LukeJr in the beginning of April, I placed an order... not a big one though.

Next I hoped that Butterfly Labs could start delivering products (including the Little Single, which I happened to order) in appreciable volume before I would exit PayPal's 45-day buyer protection envelope.

Unfortunately, tough luck, that didn't happen... thus on day 43 I notified BFL that unfortunately, I would have to cancel my order, and notified PayPal (by opening a dispute) that I was asking for a refund from the merchant due to non-delivery. Some 4 days later, BFL issued a refund and an additional 5 days later, my bank credited the approximate sum (plus/minus transaction and currency conversion fees) back to my account.

Issue resolved. Unfortunately, this avenue for obtaining ASIC hardware didn't work for me. I keep mining with my GPUs and will explore other options.

There are other options coming soon... glad you got a refund.
