4841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FRC] - Difficulty Adjustment fork moved closer! [HARD-FORK @ block #28336!] on: May 24, 2013, 10:55:50 AM
That's it!  Smiley

Let me check...

Nah...  It ain't me Smiley  It's contributor mavric at coin-o-tron actually, too bad the pool is keeping the transaction fees.

I'm going for block 28336!

My freicoin client API is also reading 148K difficulty.

Block 28335 was solved by Coinotron. 1000 FRC goes to user mavric ! As soon as block 28335 reaches 120 confirmations Wink

This morning, I sent 1000 FRC to lucky winner: mavric.

LOVE THE COINOTRON!
4842  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon should start mining for the missing batch 1 customers. on: May 24, 2013, 10:38:02 AM
I can see why they'd rather sell chips. Not a dig at my fellow Canuck... gadzooks that sucks for you man and I'd be pissed as well.

Given the issues with sabotage, Canadian Customs, shipping things in a discreet way, one of the devs not being able to drive his own car, use his handphone etc makes perfect sense these guys may not want to build rigs just an extreme hassle. Of course the history for Avalon is not completely written by any stretch but for the most part they have practically given away millions to community rather than simply mining themselves. That doesn't mean they should be given a pass on the shipping problems of some but I think we can see they are doing what they can short of putting that machine right in your hands.

Sad to see that a few rigs have gone sideways and not direct to customers. I hope you get your rig soon.

declared as gifts or personal used, if you declare for business you will have trouble or asked your supplier to them to send to a duty free place or island and grab it from there off course if this places are near to you maybe bali, otherwise may not worth going there.

There are many ways to get things in... I'd prefer to avoid it all costs. Seems to me the fabrication places I am sourcing have a line on getting things into Jakarta and that is great. That is mainly why I will not be shipping these units at all especially outside the country at least for now.

Hash rates are around 150 GH/s now, with 205 as the target rate so were at 75% of needed hash-rates.

i would move my blade on FRC too ... but i dont know a good pool ...

FRC vpool and all other vpools seem to have issues in terms of it's developers ability to pay out correctly either purposefully or intentionally. Be warned. There are excellent reputable pools listed above so use those before Vpool. You have been warned.

API's for your pools please post here in this thread so those who make block explorers for Freicoin like this: http://1.cr.rs/  they can add your pool to the graph. Thanks.

HI OP. I have some Indonesian friends/ex-colleagues that used to work with me in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
Will tell them about your new site/product. Hope to talk to you if you come to Kuala Lumpur.

Not sure when I would have time to head up to KL but we will see. Never know if there is a Montessori Conference in KL or something I could meet up with people there once I get something worth showing. You can drop me an Email if you want to discuss things further. There are people organizing builds in Thailand and the Philippines as far as I know it be great to get Singapore and Malaysia going as well.

Nothing going on in Singapore. Sad

Jakarta is a cheap short hop from Singapore but, I am also playing with idea of people sending chips through the  agent bringing in parts for the pcb through Singapore. I want to test that with my own chips first. I want to ensure that they get to the fabricator without incident. I will keep you posted or drop me an email if you are interested in that sort of arrangement.

ya in Malaysia/KL  they are bitcoin group meeting up once a while etc.. but don't know about Singapore, let me know if you need anything .. we have you and bkkcoins in thailand .. so not much worries if our chips will get assemble. Smiley

Ya we are lucky to be so close to BKKCoins makes things a bit easier. Malaysia probably has a number of great fabrication shops. Might be fun to get a regional Bitcoin meet up at some point. Thanks Dan if we get stuck on something I will let you know... keen on trying to get it all done right here so I can avoid the hassles of import / export. At times packages can be held for "ransom" and that sucks. I had 3 X6500's come in it took over 15 days to get them released right when there was that fat bubble in BTC price.

Hitting the p2p pool.freico.in hard and I am loving the DIFFICULTY drops certainly makes it worthwhile again to mine.

Did we arrive at a number of people passing the plate for the new scope?

Address?
I'm back awake again...
I've created this address just for the scope so we can track it separately:

1DouysB5qE4Zx9T2Z2FMiohJJdSa3tkdus

Someone sent me 0.5 to my general purpose donation address. Thank You!
If you want that towards the scope just PM me and I'll forward it so it's all in one place.

I will do the donation later today after work... want a stable net connection to do it. Thanks again BKKCoins... and if you do you need a hand with hauling gyprock up or laying tile can always work something out... school holidays are coming!  Cool

ooo i can order some from you and send it to my family in indonesia. Cheesy

No orders and no shipping, they have to come to the shop here and buy it when stock is available. Bring,  Rupiah, BTC or FRC. Arrange payment same time they come to the shop all good as well. Drop me an email if you want updates or to arrange things once we have tested units.

Okay?

If you feed me boards I will help you with floors and ceilings. Tile floor? Drop Ceiling?

He wants a house, not a data centre Smiley

LOL!

Most houses in the tropics have tile floors... as for the ceiling not sure what people do mainly.... drywall?

Many aren't I guess

All the sites seem to be lagging.

http://dustcoin.com/mining not updated.
http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency not updated. Updated
http://1.cr.rs/ not updated. Updated
http://pool.cr.rs/ not updated. Updated
https://coinotron.com/ Updated
http://cryptocoinexplorer.com:4750/ not updated. Updated

Dustcoin only one left, any others not updated?

Does it matter? If all listed websites go offline and never come online afterwards, would it hurt Freicoin? Yes, but not much. What would hurt a lot is if exchanges stay on old blockchain.

True that... but nice to know people fixed things up fast and are reporting it correctly. Hard to get hash rate up if people think the coin is still flatlined. Those sites do provide good info to many people. Here is hoping that translates to a larger bump in hash this week.
4855  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: May 23, 2013, 08:08:35 PM
Perhaps do the Android model... where the source is available, but for any integrator to use "Klondike" brandname (or even refer to it in marketing/specs), a royalty must be paid to bkk. This way hobby ppl are not affected, and only people marketing the boards are. I guess the royalty would be a small portion of the cost anyways, no body would be cheap enough to try and skim that.

I'm still thinking about this. It's a certain amount of useless effort to put in as it requires adding decryption code to the bootloader. That's available now but would still need to be adapted.

This community has been so good with support that I'm really inclined to just throw my hands up and put the code out there and trust some money will come out of it. It's easy to get wrapped up in feelings of being taken advantage of, and personally I don't even wan to think about money. It's part of why I live here in a small Thai village. I got out of all that 11 years ago.

@terrahash,
I don't even know what my target is. I started out thinking $2,000 and then $10,000 for two months 16 hour days work. Then $5,000. Now people are buying me scopes. And to be honest it's fun work for me. But the business aspects aren't. I've told some people $2/unit, and then we just see how many everyone sells. My wife wants me to finish building the house (no floor or ceiling) and I want to get set up doing electronics again as a small "cottage" business.

We'll figure something out.

If you feed me boards I will help you with floors and ceilings. Tile floor? Drop Ceiling?

4856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FRC] - Difficulty Adjustment fork SUCCESSFUL! on: May 23, 2013, 06:35:13 PM
It is because of this 1000 fee reward in block 28335. Pool uses block value of the last solved block when it calculates rewards for current block. But when current block is solved pool uses value from that block.
Block 28335 had 1226.57208999, this value was used as estimation of block reward in block 28337.
When block 28337 was solved - pool just took proper value of this block: 226.57056984

For several minutes pool just was using too high blockvalue to show coins/day and overestimated confirmed rewards.

Great, so now it's my fault ;-b

4857  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: May 23, 2013, 06:32:27 PM
Hope the guy who was whining gives JohnK a gratuity. Well deserved and yet again he goes well above and beyond the call o' duty.
4858  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Where is Ragingazn628? on: May 23, 2013, 06:27:18 PM
Again: did you use escrow?

no offense, but isn't this only relevant if the chips haven't been ordered?  If they've been ordered I assume John K has already had to forward the btc to Avalon, hence limited protection here.

True. Hope at least you requested for his ID, etc. to be reviewed by mods. You simply do not give such amount of money to a random guy on the interwebz without having his info checked.

It was my understanding that John K has all of ragingazn's verified personal info.

I confirm this. Also, I've got a reply from him, and he states that he's been busy lately. I'll check the thread later to see if he's confirmed there.

I am so glad that people didn't flip out needlessly... sheesh. Move along nothing to see here.

For those that want to make their own with a kit, I'm still quite keen to offer that and it would have a programmed PIC in the kit. So there's no extra hassle with any lock in or anything. You'd just order a kit and get the parts/board/instructions ready to build. That's a much more limited and expert segment of users.

This is what I'm interested in--as long as you are reasonably confident you could source the required components in time. I wouldn't mind the option of ordering a spare set of parts (or three) as well, to allow room for error.

Now about getting you that oscilloscope. I'd be happy to chip in, who's with me?

Already pledged 0.5 BTC. Just need someone to pass the hat I guess.
