SWEEEEEEET!~

Too bad I didn't buy Zefir!

4202  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: July 22, 2013, 07:14:42 AM
Pitchforks and Tar not needed yet.

We are all on edge let us try and be patient. No one yet has received group batch orders even from earlier buys.

Pins and needles time.

Hope all is well with his family. Also I think it would be prudent to get updated info John K on Raginazins current location / residence just in case it is necessary. If that is part of the escrow service... just asking about it not demanding. Your thoughts John?
4203  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: July 22, 2013, 06:54:33 AM
BKKCoins some of us are wondering on K1 heat sink drill holes specs for fastening the diagonal screws (heat sink template). Will that be ready this week?

Also just wanted to ask about the BOM for the K1s. Can you highlight the revised parts so people can explain to the fabricators which parts will be used for the revised K1's. Worried about errors in BOM ordering.
4204  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: July 21, 2013, 01:22:40 PM
I can't wait to see that PDF. For my students just doing the bump and reflow of the ASIC only on K1s. It would be nice to see a video of one of these boards being made so I can show the kids how it is done. If anyone does build it DIY please post some video then I can use it as part of curriculum for the students.

Sounds like you foster new bitcoiners... Smiley

Responsible human beings is the goal, but ya bitcoin will be part of the curriculum.
4205  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Network Protection statement from KNCMiner on: July 21, 2013, 01:20:08 PM
Bitcoinorama... more enthusiastic than the company themselves...

for all your good intentions you really need to take that cock out of your mouth in public. it's vulgar.

im as eager and paid up as the next man but i can't bear your never-ending 'la-la-la, they're perfect' crap

so you went for a visit... you've made that clear. just give it a rest, can you?

or are you prepared to be held responsible for any disappointments that YOUR endless musings may cause?

What a pr*ck. Seriously?! Like I've mentioned plenty of times before. I went in person off my own steam for my own investment. I shared what I saw with everyone else. My opinion, no vulgarity. Any to make your own opinion, pull your finger out your ass and go yourself. That's not me claiming their perfect, that's me telling you to STFU and do something proactive. There appear to be a number of threads started recently with the sole intention of derailing their project and defaming a legitimate company. This after a month of surprisingly well mannered and well behaved members of this forum letting them do their thing. It's clear who has what intentions, and why, just try and behave like an adult.

I find it amusing that I get labelled as a KnC fanboy when I've been active in many threads and positive towards seeing what both individuals like the DIYers can muster as well as Terrahash, who I was always positive towards. Their issue is participating in a price point that opens investment to idiots who do no research and expect minute by minute updates. I started out on this forum calling scams as and when I saw them, whilst undertaking my own thorough research for my own investment, because I'm nobody's fool. I have the luxury of living in the same continent as KnC who were welcome to people visiting, and still are. Get over it, eat some humble pie and pay them a visit. You won't though, will you??

Unfortunately there are not more people that spend the time to help the community like this. Thanks Bitcoinorama I value that sort of contribution, if only we worked together like this for the good of the community then less people would be blowing hard earned money on vapourware. Of course proof be in the pudding and we all have to do our own homework and take our risks individually but this sort of work from senior members of the community should be appreciated not mocked or ridiculed. Again thanks Bitcoinorama.
4206  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: July 21, 2013, 12:59:20 PM

What. Even the components that fit on the edge of a dime aren't that bad. I'm more worried about the tiny QFN48 package on the ASIC.

You are one of the talented people I was talking about then. ;-)   Have you seen this video?  Some good tips on soldering QFN packages. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_rO6oPVsws
To build either the K16 or K1 you need to be detail oriented and capable of fine work with small parts. I didn't find it terribly hard with any of the parts using tweezers but I think the ASIC packages are a bit easier with vacuum tweezers ($5 on ebay). I may add those to my store if people want them. You will want some kind of magnifying work light or head piece because getting good position without is going to be near impossible.

However, you aren't going to do either of these boards with a soldering iron. The only way really to get good results is with solder paste, stencil and oven. Going this way the only hard part is placing the parts on the board. You have to be very methodical in making sure each part is in the correct place and oriented correctly, and this will likely take several hours at least per board. A mistake can be disastrous. If that step is done properly then the reflow oven step is quite easy and quick, and you should have a working board within minutes.

I'll be putting together a PDF assembly guide with step by step placement diagrams and check lists to help with this, but as I've stressed a few times this is not a project for a beginner. Or at least not a beginner without a strong background in fine model making or clear idea what's involved here.

I can't wait to see that PDF. For my students just doing the bump and reflow of the ASIC only on K1s. It would be nice to see a video of one of these boards being made so I can show the kids how it is done. If anyone does build it DIY please post some video then I can use it as part of curriculum for the students.
4207  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon: Where is our chips? (chip eta status thread) on: July 20, 2013, 03:46:53 PM
The lack of communication, delays, and general sense of uncertainty is sort of BFL'esque.

Now, doesn't this take the cake. A la betting on the wrong ASIC outfit, surely I haven't been beating on the wrong dead horse, have I?

Ewwww cake and horse beatings... not a pretty sight.
4208  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Asicminer USB Erupters...how do they even make sense? on: July 20, 2013, 02:11:17 PM
We have k1's shipping in three weeks that can be clocked up to 450mh/s. They are also cheaper. Group buy is here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=254358.0
Precisely 14 microseconds after the first one of these is actually delivered, the price of the Asicminer product will magically drop to match it in price/performance.

They already dropped their prices in the Group Buys for BEs to match our opening prices for smaller number orders. They are not matching our larger lot size prices.

This is going to be a fun month or two playing stratego with them of course K1s bundled up with other things might make it worth the effort to come our way to the K1s. Anyhow keep checking our page... things will certainly be interesting especially depending on the volume of units available. bigpicturemining.com

450 might not be the end... given some posts in Burnin's Board thread.

Time to dunk your chips in oil and hang on to your Avalon chips a few months longer?
4210  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Why is everyone trying to sell the USB Asic K1 Miner??? on: July 20, 2013, 01:58:04 PM
Question is why he is pointing to K1s not BE's. Our prices are based on USD not BTC... it floats in BTC and we also set variable prices for larger orders meaning our prices if you group buy are much lower and as soon as we did our 85$ for 1 - 9 units the BE group buy prices matched ours.

But the real question is where are these 18$ per 1 Gh/s machines that I can afford and plug into the desktop or USB hub? I want to spend just 18 dollars and get one machine. Someone just trolling away I guess.
4211  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Why is everyone trying to sell the USB Asic K1 Miner??? on: July 20, 2013, 01:36:03 PM
0.94 btc would be $86.4 plus costs would be $96.4 and is only giving you 282mh/s or max with over clocking of 350mh/s? At the moment 1gh/s is only $18.

That is a block erupter price friend. So do the math. Why not mention all the BE sales at this point? Seems very 1 sided post? I guess you are selling Block Erupters? 18$ for 1Gh/s which machine? How is it shipped? How is it powered? Including PSU, Controllers and heat sinks? Any issues with customs? Factory delays? BFL? Do they catch fire? Is it pre-ordered? When is it going to ship? Is it still sitting on the tech bench or shipping cart? Can't you mine altcoins with these units? Seems easy to post a number then not elaborate on it.

Block Erupters?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=259075.0

"THE LUCKY 13"

.94 per device plus costs (read Pricing section below).

K1's are priced much lower especially if you want larger lots. I think you might want to add BE's or edit out the K1's to your title... wait... are you selling BE's OP?

Also you can get K1's in DIY form for much much much cheaper... just throw in your Avalon chips and party.

Funny how you didn't mention Block Erupters at all wonder why?

4216  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [K1 Nano Boards Only] Group Buy - Big Picture Mining Cooperative on: July 20, 2013, 11:11:09 AM
Need to get a minimum say 100?

Price will not include shipping.

I will post prices Monday after I talk to our member heading up the fabrication on logisitics of this and what minimum we would need as well.
4217  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Sales] K1 Nanos - Big Picture Mining Cooperative on: July 20, 2013, 11:09:26 AM
Am not sure if you remember, but somewhere on the klondike thread Chris suggested that a K1 (chipless) could be used to interface between usb and k16`s.  I like this idea of reducing the k16 workload with a K1. Would you give some thought to a short production run for chipless K1's. Am not sure what the demand would be but am sure there would also be demand for diyer`s with a few chips left from their orders also.

Good Luck, I maybe ordering a few complete miners once the chips come in.. Wink

Edit : Just had a browse of the site, added a miner as it was priced at 0BTC shipping was 0BTC. I then increased it to 100 miners still 0BTC. Was tempted to try the rest of the checkout process  Grin

Try this K1 BOARD ONLY group buy for that... I am all for it... just need enough people and a round number 100? 1000?

Pay for K1 Fabrication in chips, 1 for 1: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=257666.0
4219  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Sales] K1 Nanos - Big Picture Mining Cooperative on: July 20, 2013, 10:49:00 AM
We are definitely still working on the shipping.

At this point we need to finalize which countries we actually are able to ship these units to from our drop site. Others will have to be delivered direct from Batam using more expensive means. The website will indicate that at the time you order. After we resolve that then we can release the site again so that people can order. Our plan is to have a single drop ship location and from that location ship on worldwide.

Fingers are crossed of course for chips.

Yes if you want to DIY please please please CHECK OUT BKKCoins offers here: http://klondikedesign.com
