So we can come up with a tentative timeline for Indonesian Klondike production:

BKKCoins receives his samples in late June or early July.
Prototype boards are tested and passed hopefully in July / August.
Orders for more chips made in July.
Gerbers are released and production starts in Indonesia for test boards in August.
25 -100 Board run for Indonesian Market September / October ready.

I may be interested in working in between 15 to 65 more boards in the AUGUST run but only if others ship me the chips and come to Jakarta and pick up the finished boards. Please PM or email me if you are interested in that arrangement but you would need a minimum of 5 boards or 80 Avalon chips.

We have made some inquiries into the Modular Python Bitcoin Miner and how it can be made ready for the Klondike boards that will be made here in Indonesia. When we are closer to testing a prototype we will get more information but we are very keen on using MPBM for the Klondike as it is a wonderful interface and as I own 3 X6500 fgpa miners that run it, I have found it very stable and easier for novice users which could be the case for Indonesian buyers. There are also plans by BKKCoins to adapt CGminer. We are also willing to support efforts by any other miner software developers.

Kami telah membuat beberapa pertanyaan ke Modular Python Bitcoin Miner dan bagaimana hal itu dapat dibuat siap untuk papan Klondike yang akan dibuat di Indonesia. Ketika kita lebih dekat untuk menguji prototipe kita akan mendapatkan informasi lebih tapi kami sangat tertarik untuk menggunakan MPBM untuk Klondike karena merupakan antarmuka yang indah dan seperti yang saya sudah memiliki 3 X6500 fgpa penambang yang menjalankannya, saya telah menemukan itu sangat stabil dan mudah bagi pengguna pemula yang bisa menjadi kasus untuk pembeli Indonesia. Ada juga rencana untuk beradaptasi dengan BKKCoins CGminer. Kami juga bersedia untuk mendukung upaya oleh pengembang perangkat lunak penambang lainnya.

Situation:

Bitcoin is relatively underdeveloped in Indonesia. There are no large mining farm operations and the market in Bitcoin is quite small. There is certainly a void currently in the market for miners that are produced locally. There are several PCB manufacturing operations that are subsidiaries of Japanese, Korean and Chinese PCB companies here in Indonesia. There are also large numbers of PCB designers coming out of the Universities in Indonesia so there are plenty of people to carry out the oversight and future development of Klondike Indonesia boards here. We are also keen on working and developing a strong and lasting relationship with BKKCoins in terms of licensing his design for production here in Indonesia and providing him royalties for each board that is sold.

Focus:

Currently there are no ASIC, FPGA mining rigs available in Indonesia other than DIY GPU's and a handful of purchased FPGAs. The Indonesian market for Bitcoin miners is limited although there are 1000's of people interested in Bitcoin and active in the community at various levels and this is growing every month. Import tariffs and delays for electronics is a prohibitive barrier for mining Bitcoin in Indonesia.

Response

Klondike Indonesia will fill the void by providing Indonesians with completed Klondike 1, 16, 64 and eventually K256 4U units with hot swap capable K16 / K64 boards. We have assessed the market and understand that there will at first be a limited market for miners. We will  provide locally made working miners so as to avoid importation tariffs and time delays that is the norm with Indonesian customs. Avalon chips will be ordered and delivered directly to our contracted PCB fabrication house. We will also be working with students at the Canadian Montessori School so they can learn about Cryptocurrencies and the students will be working on building a K16 that will be maintained as a student project at the school in the 2013/14 school year and beyond. Students will also learn about the production of Klondike boards and their ultimate sale here in Indonesia.

Evaluation

We will help create a new community of miners in Indonesia and we hope that will also help to diversify and secure the Bitcoin / Altcoin networks. We also see this as an excellent opportunity to support the local economy in Indonesia as well as providing educational opportunities for the students at Canadian Montessori Schools. To support the Bitcoin community we will not accept pre-orders and will produce units first, test that they function mining for 24 hours on the network and then box them up for sale so that customers can pay and take a unit. We do not offer shipping and customers can pay in Rupiah, Bitcoin or Freicoin.

Tentative Pricing

We have found one PCB factory in Indonesia that can build our Klondike boards. The price for the board productions is only a first price. We are still looking for better pricing in Indonesia for making Klondikes.

If that is scare mongering then why bother asking any questions at all?

If you are not questioning or seeking answers to the questions above then I suspect you are simply willing to donate your money to BFL for units with no defined specifications or delivery dates. That is ok for those who are already "bought" into this system but that doesn't mean others should simply ignore the facts as BFL presented them and ignore it. There is certainly nothing wrong with being part of this community and giving a FAIR WARNING to others out there. What I do not understand is why anyone already in the system would care if others are warned off BFL products? Considering the current backlog of orders creating more of a backlog could bring the threat of legal action. investigation into the mix and it might work to collapse BFL. The only reason why a "customer" of BFL would be defending an increase in sales is ensure that there is enough of a cash flow so they will get their units and screw those who are being fooled into believing they are going to get units in July or August. That is disingenuous at best or fraud and those who advocate shutting up those who are voicing concern about BFL's lack of delivery, changing specification and redesigns as well as the shipping changes etc etc etc are to me complicit in this fraud.

You should be scared to order from BFL they have not delivered anything yet.

I am neither savvy nor skilled in CAD. Hope someone out there will with the spare time can do this. A stencil design for soldering be nice as well for the land area and the chip itself. That way we can try different companies all over the world possibly find a cheaper metal stencil that we can all order directly. The chip stencil could be bulk ordered now as it won't change at all.

That way we could come up with the ideal profiles for the K16 / K64's and solutions for stacking.

I have been scouring AliExpress for VGA/GPU heat sinks with fans, older CPU heat sinks with fans and water blocks for CPU's and GPU's that might work with the 100*100mm profile available. There are definitely a lot of after market or in stock items that could be sitting on shelves right now that could be bought and fit this design or retrofitted given some good ideas.

Think people need to do heat sinks in local context. Larger orders shipped world wide going to get expensive for weight right? I am looking in Indonesia for a supplier for my boards. Might be smart for those with larger orders of boards to simply put heat sinks on after getting them.

Also there will be a variety of possible heat sink even water block options you may even try as a DIY or retro fit solution. What I am doing myself is to track down the following:

1. Heat Sink suppliers in my region.
2. PCB fabricators / assembly in my area.
3. PSU suppliers in my city.
4. Rack mount server case suppliers in my city.

If you are just making a few boards then you can also look at options for re-flowing the chips yourself in terms of finding the following:

5. Soldering / Reflow stations (Heat Gun / Solder Iron Combo).
6. Re-flow oven.
7. Stencils for the QFN 48 that would match the specification for the chip.

If you are not the DIY type then I suspect you need to check with those of us who are going to assemble full working boards and get in line or wait for us to complete our work.

Personally I am simply going to park and watch BKKcoins do his stuff. He will go through all of this carefully and when he is ready he will release this project to the wind and we will all be ready and I suspect just waiting for chips to REFLOW to Klondike boards from K1 to K64. What we all can be doing right now is our research and lining up our suppliers / fabrication etc or DIY getting all the required equipment you may need to do this.

Nothing wrong with getting your ducks in a row right now but really we have to sit back and wait patiently for the next 2 weeks as BKKCoins has some fun solving this puzzle he has created. I wish him the best of luck... no pressure right?  

Might be good if those who are starting up assembly have their threads and speculate there on heat sinks, psu's etc that way you can localize your builds and get suppliers that are well known and respected. I am really doing a lot of that right now and it isn't easy to find the right people and I am hopeful I can find the right people and companies well before BKKCoins has finished testing a prototype and shown us some hash rates. We are a long long way off really but that is great because everyone here especially those who will want to build Klondikes can get everything in place ready for us to kick start this bitch into action as soon as BKKcoins gives us the ok.
