This may be a silly question but I don't think I have seen anybody on this forum try it. Have you mined any other coins than bitcoins?
They can only mine bitcoin.
No, they can mine any sha256x2 coins, which some of the altcoins are. Most of the recent flood of bullshit altcoins are all scrypt though.

Freicoin, Peer2PeerCoin and Teracoin... major ones without merged mining.

Namecoin, Devcoin, IXcoin... are a few that you can merge mine I think if you can find a pool.

Missing any?

Met with an interesting GPU Farmer here in Jakarta last night. Interesting discussion and looks like we are going to push forward with a small group of investors possibly to get 10,000 chips. PM me if you are interested in a chip group buy tied with board production.

Anyone interested in working on a cut paste diy manual that we can all edit?
4644  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL creates new charity project to donate 1000 BTC to [ROFL!] on: June 07, 2013, 03:56:09 AM

I just took the time to read it and found somebody questioning my integrity pertaining to Bitcoin100.org, therefore I had to reply.

Ooooo Gossip.

You, my friend, don't have a clue. I'm probably one of the few bitcoiners that could be fully trusted.
As seen in the post below this by Rassah, I gave up Bitcoin100 and am working with them for a smooth transition, with myself being part of it in a lesser capacity.
Rassah, who I believe is a very trusty guy, takes care of all the money transactions, with me not being able to touch a single satoshi, as intended when I set it up to show trust.
Currently, I'm out over $100K due to the InstaWallet fiasco, all because I put faith in people I thought I could trust.
I believe you owe me an apology.

Sorry for the offtopic just wanted to throw this in to balance out the last posts about BFL bold emphasis on 65nm chips vs. 110nm avalon chips. Guy spammed same message to all the DIY thread.

Back to the Klondike boards.

Hi allten,

I would like to ask for your opinion on BFL offer we got today at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=223571 .

They are willing to sell us (as GroupBuy) advanced 65 nm chips (4 GH/s per piece) on 100% escrow (John K.), on-time-or-deal-is-off policy.

Is developing and producing mining boards capable of running those chips more challenging than for Avalon's 110 nm ones? Would you be interested? (Avalon boards are surely to stay the top priority.)

Since, I'm refining the deal right now, I can use any suggestions about documentation, sample chips etc. I should require for you/other developers as part of the deal.

Thank you.

Dudes... PM stuff to him about BFL. Stop cluttering the thread!

This is for development of the Klondike boards not questions about BFL chip group buys. Such a snaky way to plug BFL crap in this thread stop it.
4654  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Call to arms] Why don't you destroy BFL rather than QQ? on: June 06, 2013, 08:07:24 PM
I find it disgustingly hypocritical that in a community of libertarian anarcho-capitalists some of you want to run to government agencies and ask them to attack a company that will make mining more competitive.
If you are encouraging government involvement, and you don't even have an order in with BFL, you are scum, and a disgrace to this community.

As an anarchist we should simply stop buying their products considering they do not value the work force or the consumers they are producing for. You do know what anarchists want right or LIBERTARIANS are right? I think you might want to rethink what you define them as. I for one as a Libertarian do not want a company to disregard it's ethical obligations as that would infringe on the rights of the people who put faith in them.

Seriously what reeks to high heaven here are not those asking the government to step in but those would invoke "libertarianism" as some how a reason for a corporate entity to lie to people. Ignorant. Maybe you need to read up on Anarchism and Libertarian Socialism.

It be nice to have a DIY manual to put together so that users can get a K1 and K16 up and mining in zero to no time at all.

Cut and Paste anyone?
4656  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Klondike] Case design thread for K16 on: June 06, 2013, 07:49:59 PM
Made a Reference thread for DIY Klondike peoples.

I can compile all the important info and people can discuss how they want below. I will update often.

See now, that's cheating. You're making a subforum in a thread. Sheeshh. Next you'll claim it was your idea from the start Wink

You made me look.... damn YOU!

Back to the case design thread....

Anyone got any other off the shelf cases?

Or....

4658  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Address with Avalon bulk chip payments now tops $8 million... on: June 06, 2013, 07:34:59 PM
Here's what we know as of today:

- Batch 1 Avalons still not all delivered, no response from Bitsyncom
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=157856.0

- Batch 1 badly damaged Avalon, Bitsyncom replied to say "that's unfortunate, we will work out a solution to ship this one back and send you another." and then no follow-up or response from Bitsyncom for over 50 days and counting.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178168.0

- Batch 2 Avalons significantly delayed and still not all delivered, no response from Bitsyncom
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167726.1200

- Batch 3 Avalons not delivered at all, no updates from Bitsyncom
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=203745.60

- Avalon ASIC chip purchases started over 7 weeks ago and no sample chips in sight, no updates from Bitsyncom despite Avalon website stating "30 sample chips will be provided 4 weeks into ordering per 10,000 chips."
Of all the Avalon ASIC chip group buys, no one has heard a single word from Bitsyncom about the sample chips

- Zefir's Batch 8 Avalon ASIC chip purchase issue has not be resolved or even addressed by Bitsyncom, resulting in ~$93,000 of the community's money being received by Avalon but no confirmation of the order given by their order system. No response from Bitsyncom for over 6 weeks.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177827.660

At this point, there is no good excuse for the lack of communication on his part, especially considering the amount of money this community has spent to purchase his goods. These aren't technical support issues, either.

For all the sensitivity there is now to potential scams whenever an ASIC company pops up, why isn't Avalon under the same scrutiny? They've shipped a small number of units, but so has BFL. Is there any way to confirm with TSMC that they are actually having chips made?? So many developers are awaiting those samples.

I don't know maybe because they don't use multiple accounts and point out the failings of BFL like you are... transparent much?

You can give Avalon some leeway whereas after a 11 months of pure unadulterated BS from BFL they deserve a lot more than the anger of the forum here they need to stop playing games here in the forums and start shipping product. The time for posturing and promotion is over. Avalon will or will not deliver but someone with 7 posts to his name up on every thread? Please. BFL playbook right there. Deflect the attention off their poor record? Think not.

Having said all that, yes Avalon is not really doing it's best to communicate and that is troubling but is it BFL level of BS? No. So stop equating them.
4659  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [REFERENCE] Klondike DIYers Thread on: June 06, 2013, 07:08:34 PM
Thanks a lot for doing this. You created this thread while I was typing a suggestion to do exactly this.

One suggestion is use bitcointalk.org in the urls instead of IP. Many people don't want to accept uncertified SSL connections. Smiley

Yeah, I was starting a poll Grin

Subforuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhmmmmmm!

Throw some links below and I will add to the list....
we can do a lot of off topic stuff here and chat etc... speculate etc and it won't  mess up the existing threads.
