you might consider adding a column to indicate things like slow-paying, withholding withdrawals, or similar scam accusations. it looks like trade satoshi is having some problems: https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/trade-satoshi/

Quote
We have received reports from the Safex and ColossusXT teams that user deposits are being withheld. Please be careful with your funds.

i think there are similar accusations against hitbtc and yobit too.

Hmmm, I'm not so sure about adding those columns, as almost no exchange is perfect. Scam accusations exist for almost every exchange out there. However, what do you say if I add a column of "frequency of accusations at Bitcointalk" and list the total number of accusations received by each of the exchanges within this forum till now?

Moreover, that "slow-paying" column can get very confusing as well. Today, I literally received a withdrawal from TradeSatoshi within 60 seconds, while Binance took about 20 minutes to process my BTC withdrawal (resultantly, my BitPay's invoice got expired and I had to write a ticket to them about this delay); but I just cannot say in any way that TradeSatoshi is faster than Binance, because sometimes Binance processes the withdrawals faster while TradeSatoshi doesn't.

ICC suspends Zimbabwe Cricket with immediate effect

Following a board and full council meeting in London, ICC has suspended Zimbabwe Cricket with immediate effect. In an official release, the apex body stated that 'the ICC Board unanimously decided that Zimbabwe Cricket, an ICC Full Member, is in breach of Article 2.4 (c) and (d) of the ICC Constitution which imposes an obligation on Members to provide a process for free and democratic elections and to ensure that there is no government interference in its governance and/or administration for cricket respectively."

"We do not take the decision to suspend a Member lightly, but we must keep our sport free from political interference. What has happened in Zimbabwe is a serious breach of the ICC Constitution and we cannot allow it to continue unchecked," ICC chairman Shashank Manohar said.

The ICC also confirmed that all ICC funding to ZC will be frozen and representative teams from Zimbabwe will not participate in any ICC events.

Yup:

-Coin: WaltonChain (WTC)
-Price: 0.0001510 BTC
-Target: 0.0001660 BTC
-Exchange: Binance

WTC is now standing at 1361 satoshis, and at this point, I'm averaging down.

Reason: WaltonChain will soon have the mainnet token swap (from ERC20 to mainnet), and once it's announced, WTC should get a nice jump.

WTC reached the target of 0.00017 BTC. Now moving all my trading stash into ADA (currently at 735 satoshis), and leaving it all there for at least the next 3 days. Till then, no trading!

It was a bad decision as ADA visited about 500 satoshis a couple of days back. However, a nice breakout is visible on multiple timeframes after today's jump to 600 satoshis, and because of that, I'm increasing my current ADA position.

BTW, do you have any opinion on this?

You have done a wonderful job. I actually redirected to this page from google. I will be glad if you can add features such as the estimated numbers of users on each exchange site. As we all know now that one of the important factors to consider before listing on any exchange is the numbers of active users because it gives indication on how decent is the exchange. So many exchange this day have few traders but provide fake trading volumes in order to deceive people and get ranked in coinmarket cap.

Interesting suggestion. I remember I thought about it once but then gave up as there doesn't seem to be any suitable indicator in existence that can tell about the estimated number of users on each exchange. The only good indicator I can think of is the Alexa ranking, but then again, it's not like that it's totally unmanipulable.

Any suggestions regarding this?

You can google something like "Binance (or whatever exchange) userbase" and that might give you decent results but it's hard to tell the current situations as some of the articles are old.

If you insist on adding Alexa ranking, I would suggest trying Similarweb.com instead where you can also do comparisons between sites.

Thanks for your suggestion! Wow, there seems to be a lot of difference in these two platforms.

According to SimilarWeb:

Bittrex's top visitors include (by percentage share):

OTOH, according to Alexa, Bittrex's top visitors include (by percentage share):

Same is the case with other exchanges (Binance, Poloniex, etc), and I think that Similarweb should be trusted more, as having Russia and Turkey in top 5 make much more sense than having India in the top 3. However, at the same time, Alexa's ranking can't be completely ignored as they've been working since April 1, 1996. (Wait, 1st April?!? Is that Alexa ranking all about making "April fool"?) Cheesy

Anyways, what do you say about the usage of the sum of both the rankings divided by 2? For example, if Binance has an Alexa ranking of 752 and a SimilarWeb ranking of 958, we can just consider it to be (752+958)/2 = 855?

Vitalik's suggestion that Eth merge with Bitcoin Cash is not helping with clarity either.

But will this merger be just marketing related or will the blockchains be merged?

Neither. My understanding is that running Ethereum on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain network is a short term bandaid to handle scaling to give more time to Vitalik and the team to come up with a true solution. If I understand that right (and that's a big if) then seems to me that this would dilute the brand at a very risky time and confuse an already cloudy space. I don't think it would be good for price, and since it is stated as a short term fix I don't think it would be good for the Ethereum network in general. There is also always the danger that this short term fix could become permanent, as they so often do and the long term scaling issue never truly goes away.

Agreed. ...but I think most influential ETH devs etc.. are aware of that, and it is unlikely to come to anything.

Still no Ethereum 2.0/scaling/plasma/PoS/max supply/etc... Roll Eyes

If Vitalik and other Ethereum developers fail to get to these achievements by the Q2 of 2020, people will probably start moving to Cardano with their smart contracts and dApps. However, if Ethereum achieves scalability before the release of Basho phase of Cardano (which is expected to get completed by Q2 of 2020), ADA will look like a failure. Interesting times ahead...

ICC Suspends Zimbabwe Cricket Board With Immediate Effect

https://sports.ndtv.com/cricket/icc-suspends-zimbabwe-cricket-board-with-immediate-effect-2071822

The first T20 is scheduled in around two weeks from now and the surprise is that the venue for the first match is Lauderhill in Florida (Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground). ICC want to make some revenue from the Indian diaspora in the US.

I wasn't aware of that match's venue. International cricket match in the USA? Sounds nice.

I have read news today ICC gave the reasons for the 6 runs decision for Ben Stokes in the final over which lead England to win the match that day fortunately.
We must know whether there is some gambling behind this or something.

Is this what you're talking about?

“The umpires take decisions on the field with their interpretation of the rules and we don’t comment on any decisions as a matter of policy,” an ICC spokesperson was quoted as saying by foxsports.com.au.

IMO, this is a ridiculous comment. However, the New Zealanders should've remained in their senses when the umpire was assigning 6 runs for the over-throw. If the players had complained on spot, the umpires would've taken back a run.

Guys, soon I'm going to replace the "BTC withdraw fee" column with a brand new "Alexa ranking" column. Moreover, I'll sort the exchanges by their Alexa rank.

If any of you have any suggestion(s) regarding this, please lemme know. I don't think that "BTC withdraw fee" column is of any use at all.

Anyways, when should I lock this thread? Tomorrow?

Asap for an apparent reason, guess will hang out again in the old thread? Ashes is scheduled next month, and chances are Royce going to open betting thread for the Ashes ( not sure yet). Your participation in discussion is always welcome. We already have tiny community, it's better to stick with each other Tongue

Good point.

I'm locking this thread now.

I am English but to be honest I’m not a cricket fan. However I watched the final & tbh it was brilliant. If you ever needed an advert for cricket then yesterday was it. Absolutely thrilling, especially the last couple of hours of play.

Well, enjoy the cup! Wink

1336  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How is your Cryptopia's low-cap coin dealing with the Cryptopia's liquidators? on: July 15, 2019, 04:22:06 PM
Under NZ law crypto is considered "property".

Quote
.Is cryptocurrency treated as a foreign currency for tax purposes?

No. For tax purposes, cryptocurrency is property, not currency. This means foreign currency gain or loss provisions do not apply.

https://www.classic.ird.govt.nz/income-tax-individual/cryptocurrency-qa.html

The liquidator has indicated that they are still seeking further legal guidance.

Currently account holders are classed separately from creditors. This is because it is quite possible that they will class it as "identifiable property held in trust".

It is my view that it is likely that they will attempt to return (or allow the withdrawal) of the Crypto assets to the account owners.

So, the users are going to be able to withdraw their low-cap coins which apparently are on the old chains that are no longer supported by the exchanges (and the dev teams) and aren't on the main/new chains of those coins? This sounds really bad for the account holders.

P.S. I did have 0.1 BTC worth of low-cap alts (HUSH/XDNA/LUX/PIRL/XBY/etc) at Topia as well, so yeah, I'm one of these account holders too. Roll Eyes
1337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Cricket World Cup - Discussion & Analysis on: July 15, 2019, 04:01:20 PM
There's a set of rules that define how the winner would be decided. And the rules were made even before the start of the tournament.
And as of fair, number of boundaries is a much more better criteria for announcing the winner rather than a coin toss.

A toss may be a bad idea to decide the winner. But a better idea would have been to share the trophy between the two teams. It would have been a much better option, when compared to all the controversy and heartburn we had after the super-over. And in my opinion, giving preference to boundaries, rather than the wickets make no sense at all.

I feel the same way. Wickets should be prioritized, instead of boundaries. If the team A is not scoring boundaries and scoring the same amount of runs as the other team B, then seriously, team A has succeeded in playing more strategically if compared with team B. This is how I view this scenario.

If bitcoin goes below $9000, Trump will probably quote retweet his last bitcoin tweet and say something more stupid and childish about bitcoin.

well to be fair, even if it goes up he will retweet that last tweet and say something more stupid and childish about bitcoin.

after all tweeting stupid and childish things seems to be a hobby of his.

EDIT: Above $10k.

I was about to send you 51 BTC (1 extra as a gift for you) but then noticed that you've also mentioned XRP address (and tag). Sorry, we don't like XRP guys in here, and never help them either.

At least delete the addresses from your quote, so when infofront deletes the original post, no address is shown and no dumb newbie will be scammed.
