545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do We Need Social Media Promotion on: January 14, 2018, 08:16:44 PM
Does Bitcoin Need The Social Media's Help To Promote Itself?

Well, Bitcoin needs all the help that we can get. With its current situation, Bitcoin Foundation is just thinking out of the box to help Bitcoin recover and might even succeed.

With the help of Social Media, bitcoin can attract new and young users. Learn about bitcoin and eventually adopt it.

Maybe this is the first step of mass adoption.

What do you think?
Yes of course. If we really need that Bitcoin to have a social support and massive popularization among people, it will be best to use social media platforms for promotions since people tend to be relying and having their own social media accounts and this will totally be a great help to the rise in popularization with the means of using social media to keep people in touch and be aware of cryptocurrency's existence in the world especially it was genenrated and operated online. Putting promotions by means of social media is a best idea to think of since it was accessible and easy to reached by many people who do have social media accounts.
546  Economy / Economics / Re: How bitcoin can help for working abroad specially OFW on: January 14, 2018, 02:23:14 PM
Bitcoin/Coins.ph are so many way to make our life easier specially for OFW.
*They can use it to remit a money for their family in Philippines in a very convenient.
*Bitcoin is also way to earn extra money by using earning some satoshi or faucet.
Please share more on how bitcoin can help.
Indeed. Those what you have stated are really the features Bitcoin can do offer and provide especially the wallet you have stated which can be useful and beneficial for the OFW's. Also, Bitcoin can be a back up source of income for them so that they could have extra income that they can remit and send to their family in other countries. Added by the fact that whatever you can get or earn from Bitcoin can be easily transferred or sent out which can be turned into fiat if ever they wish to do so. Bitcoin for OFW's will surely be a good thing to help them to raise more than what they need to become useful for these people.
547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you convince the people to invest in Bitcoin? on: January 14, 2018, 02:09:24 PM
How do you convince the people to invest in Bitcoin?  When most of the people around doesn't believe on Bitcoin because for them Bitcoin is just computer thing...
In my case of convincing people to go beyond investing into Bitcoin cryptocurrency, I must first have a private conversation with that person or even a group of people talking about what Bitcoin can provide especially those positive thing Bitcoin can give which is beneficial for them if ever they will get engage with it. I must have my proof which is my own experience to let them be convince that I am stating the truth about it. That is how I get to convince people about it.
548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Social Media Influence bitcoin growth? on: January 14, 2018, 11:09:47 AM
Does Social Media Influence bitcoin growth?

I strong believe, it is a yes. You know why? It is because social media like facebook, twitter and as well as instagram has been a part of our daily lives today since there is already an observable outgrowth in the modern technology and I think the largest part of the population in the whole world do have any of these social media account where they seek information and even have some entertainment so putting Bitcoin and even altcoins in social media platforms will surely make a positive increase in the growth of these cryptocurrency coins.
549  Economy / Economics / Re: Holdings of gold vs Holdings of btc on: January 13, 2018, 11:14:00 PM
Does anyone have any idea how many people are using gold as a store of value vs btc?  And how long do you think until we have the same user Base as holders of gold?
Maybe the national statistics do have that certain data because I think they are the ones who have the access in knowing that one but that was just the idea that comes up into my mind. We still do not have an idea when and how can we come up having the same amount or number of Bitcoin users and gold users because those will be only be based on the user's preference if he will be storing gold or Bitcoin instead.
550  Economy / Economics / Re: Are electric cars bad for the oil industry? on: December 31, 2017, 09:02:46 PM
Title.

So. Electric cars are gaining in popularity, therefore the popularity of gasoline will be going down. Won't the price go down, leaving the oil industry in trouble?
Even though electronic vehicles are getting popular, many people will still tend to use gasoline generated vehicles because electronic cars are too costly that makes it so expensive to become affordable and it do really need a lot more energy to reach miles away compare to gasoline generated vehicles that can reach far places with just a couple of liter contained in the tank. It do takes up so much time for charging so as for now, electronic cars are not a threat to oil companies and even the oil industries.
551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2018 is coming on: December 31, 2017, 08:39:11 PM
What do you think to the bitcoin prices in 2018? It will continue increasing up or continue declining down?

If increasing up, what value do you expect? Same if it is declining down?
As the year 2018 goes by, it is really expected by many people who are into Bitcoin that the price of it will continuous to increase more than  what it have already reached on the year of 2017. For sure that this 2018, many potential investors same with massive number of users and consumers will be continuously engaging into bitcoin making its price rise to the top though it will be experiencing dumps, the greater possibility to grow is more likely to happen this 2018.
552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Optimistic for 2018? on: December 31, 2017, 07:49:11 PM

The year is about to end in some days from now and we can be facing 2018 with some determination and joyful heart. We are all hoping that 2018 will be a much better year for our finances because Bitcoin will continue its strength surging ahead carrying the flag of cryptocurrency to greater heights never seen before. There will always be problems, challenges and threats but at the same there will be more opportunities and new ways and means to make our dreams come true.

At the rate of 1 (being the lowest) and 10 (being the highest), how optimistic are you for the coming new year 2018?
As the year of 2018 enters our life, being optimistic for the future life is must. So for me, my rate of being an optimistic person this 2018 will be at a range of 10 because I agree that in terms of having bitcoin, looking forward for its price will sure to be expected to continuously grow into a larger one and this will continue to improve I believe as the next years of changes to be more beneficial for each and everyone of us using bitcoin.
553  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happened to bitcoins after one died? on: December 31, 2017, 07:03:25 PM
Who owns the bitcoin after someone died?  How to state this in the will? Please share your thoughts.
Actually I do not really know what might happen after someone who has a bitcoin dies. But I think for him to be able to pass this to one of his family members or even his relatives is that he must do some preparations on what to do whenever he will die unexpectedly. Maybe he can share this to his most trusted family member or even write a diary about how his love ones can be able to access his bitcoins once he have already died. Because nowadays, I do not even know if it will be stated in the last will and testament before he dies or he just really have to tell someone about it so that they can be able to use it.
554  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin community is rising. on: December 31, 2017, 06:41:42 PM
What do you think a about it? is it good or bad for bitcoin?
Well for me, on my own opinion, I think it is a good point for Bitcoin having a massive number of consumers, users and even investors that makes up its big community. For other people, they are thinking that more people getting involve with this type of currency will lead to competition regarding on the amount they are earning based on the different ways they are into to gain bitcoin as an income. But for me, putting a massive number of people leads bitcoin into popularity which attracts many potential investors and same thing consumers to make every project successful which benefits each and everyone of us.
555  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think the Xmas and Holiday season, caused the drop in the price? on: December 31, 2017, 06:09:45 PM
So it is the Holiday season and it was Xmas. How many people dived into their Bitcoin hoard to buy Xmas gifts and also paid for a nice holiday with their family?

We saw a huge increase in the price, early in the season and this might have triggered a situation where people rewarded themselves with some "Gifts" for the holiday season.

The direct impact of that would have been a higher influx of coins onto the exchanges and if that was not met with a higher demand for coins, then it would explain the drop in the price.

Did you splash out with some expensive gifts and extravagant holidays with your bitcoins, during the holiday season?
There is a large rather big possibility that the answer would be a yes. Since holiday season is making people too much busy fixing and planning their stuffs such as family outing or out of town vacation, they would not be able to get active into working with Bitcoin cryptocurrency and the same thing applies with the alternate cryptocurrencies so the demands and usages of the cryptocurrencies will be lowered down that will surely result to the dropping of the prices.
556  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to sell? on: December 31, 2017, 01:24:33 PM
Hey all,

Whats the best time to sell besides christmas?
Anytime will be a great time to sell your holdings but assure that upon selling what you have hold for a long time, secure that you will gain what you have spent upon buying those so that you can regain it for future purposes or other usages because selling is another way of gaining money but in this way you must be too observant and trust reliable sources to better know when you have to sell your assets because deciding with no credible reasoning is like wasting money because selling it lower than the price will put you into loss.
557  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are some disadvantages of BTC? on: December 29, 2017, 11:37:29 PM
We all know the advantages of BTC, but what are some of the disadvantages??
Even those things we think that are too beneficial do also have the negative part proving that no such thing in this world is made by man perfect. Bitcoin cryptocurrency despite of having many benefits which makes its advantage, it do also have disadvantages that make it somewhat negative on the mind and eyes of its users. I think the disadvantage that can be linked into bitcoin do also play from its advantage part which is being generated and operated online through the use of internet access to be easily access by people anytime and anywhere but how about if there is no such thing as internet existing into scenarios like war where power lines and communication lines including internet line are all down, how it can be access when it is dependent to be used over online usage
558  Economy / Economics / Re: plan for the future with bitcoin on: December 29, 2017, 11:18:20 PM
now this bitcoin has a lot to use as a place of investment
but I want bitcoin as a front investment who have done it
let's share with me how to invest with bitcoin for the future

At the very first time that I have known bitcoin, I have already set my plan that whenever I got success with this kind of currency which is cryptocurrency, I plan to of course invest more so that I can gain more than what I already have. I also want to use my earnings that I have got to start up my business with the little bit concern of bitcoin whenever bitcoin will be popular to be used as a currency in the business firm in the future. The rest would be save for my own good and the future of my children for their own sakes.
559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin digital gold or digital cash? on: December 09, 2017, 12:58:35 PM
Answers to this question are constantly posted on this forum and on Reddit by people who are not software engineers/developers, nor product managers. Either that or they are truly terrible at their jobs. Reddit in particular has really turned into a garbage dump, but that's something for another discussion.

Anyway, in a business context you want to build software that meets your customer's expectations, so understanding how a user makes use of your software solution is really important for smooth communication and shared understanding between management, marketing and engineering. Normally you want to write out really detailed user stories/journeys, maybe even draw diagrams or create mock-ups that demonstrate the exact problem you're trying to solve and how your thing will solve it.

Here's a teaser:

Alice is at a farmer's market and wants to buy broccoli from a vendor. How does she pay?

Here are just a few important details that we need to know first:

- What country is Alice in, and what are the economic conditions?
- How much money does she make every year/how well off is she?
- How technologically sophisticated is she/how old is she?
- What tastes and preferences does Alice have/what prejudices her in certain ways?

We need a lot more information before we start talking about what BIP we can code up in a day. If you think about these questions only from your own perspective and experience, you're discounting the majority of people on this planet that want to use the same technology. Bitcoin's value depends mainly on how many people can safely use it, and if it's not in use by the largest number of people possible, it will not achieve it's full potential/value.

The correct answer to the question in this poll is "it depends". Bitcoin is for humans, and humans have different needs. Most likely every redditor and bitcoin.org poster's favorite potential use case, "in-person payments at high volume merchants", will not be satisfied by Bitcoin directly. Use something else for that one narrow use case if Bitcoin isn't doing it for you, and support the engineers who are working to make Bitcoin more secure and stable, goddamnit  Grin

Well, for me, on my opnion, I have the perspective that bitcoin can come to be both a digital cash and tend to be a digital gold at the same time. Because for me, bitcoin has already catered the characteristics digital cash and digital gold possesses. It is a digital cash because it is a currency type version of our current money in terms of virtual aspect and a digital gold in the other hand because of the price value that is somewhat the same as gold since the price is fast growing.
