621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason that keeps me from investing in bitcoin on: August 07, 2017, 11:08:38 PM
Hello everybody.

I would like to invest some money in bitcoin, I don't use that money and I don't need it for the next 2/3 years.
I thought I found in bitcoin the perfect way to invest. BUT when I see the fees applied I don't see how the bitcoin will become mainstream! The fees are around 1mBTC which is approximatively 3$. Therefore what is the point of bitcoin?

The only thing I see : big amount transaction

But bitcoin won't be the money you use to buy your sandwich with those fees!

I saw a post saying: yeah burger king is willing to accept bitcoin in russia. Hopefully mcdonald will follow ! But why would someone pay 3$ fee therefore a third of his burger king menu in fee?

Will segwit may lower the fees?

Thank you Smiley
The reason that keeps me on investing into bitcoin isee because it is the strange thing that I have but although it is strange it do provide income to help my mom in our daily expenses. Also I can hold it for a long period of time wherein I can gain because bitcoin's price is keep on rising from time to time.
622  Economy / Economics / Re: Money above all things, Yes or no ? on: July 31, 2017, 11:08:59 PM
I can see that people nowadays are busy searching on money and everything depends on money. People nowadays never go to church just because they would rather earn money rather than praise God. Others do not pay respect to elders  because they earn money for them or richer than them. Well for you, is money above all things ?
Seeking for money is an important thing to do because in our era money is a powerful thing that you can have to get what you need and what you want. With money, you can simply get more than enough of what is needed and more than what you wanted. But seeking for money in terms of using bitcoin is not just an indication that you see money as the thing above all. It is just simple that anywhere you go, anything you want has an equivalent amount of money to enjoy.
623  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: July 31, 2017, 09:41:23 PM
For the first time, when I look at the offers on LocalBitcoins.com, there are a half-dozen currencies ahead of the US dollar, offering a higher price for Bitcoin than US dollar users.

Euros, South African Rands, New Zealand Dollars, Hong Kong Dollars, Polish Zloty, Malaysian Ringgits.

It is no longer just the US, EU or even China driving adoption.  There is a market for Bitcoins in major countries all over the world.
You are right because bitcoin is now getting in lined with the top most currency in the world. With its popularity among many people around the world, its usage is rising due to the great count of users that have already been using it and as an effect of it, bitcoin is now getting into its peak to be one of the most used and popular currency worldwide. But bitcoin is not just a typical currency that was use worldwide. It as a crypto currency that has a capability to uphold and change one's life that is why it is getting more popular.
624  Economy / Economics / Re: When will more retailers accept Bitcoin on: July 31, 2017, 09:05:51 PM
Well, we have to thank Japan for really leading the way for the burgeoning adoption of Bitcoin down to many merchants or retailers. I am sure this can somehow make Bitcoin more popular as it can now be used to buy real-world products whether online or offline. It is now very convenient to pay Bitcoin because of the provided infrastructure.

As with the great USA, there seems to be a slower adoption of Bitcoin from merchants big and small. It can because of the still-lacking tax and legal framework to work with. We are having a wait and see attitude so far. Hopefully, in the coming months and years there would be an uptick in the merchants' attitude towards Bitcoin. Well, we are all hoping that soon Amazon and other big online retailers can facilitation the acceptance of Bitcoin.

There is no questions there are still many issues that e-commerce has to contend with in relation to Bitcoin. Many are showing apprehension with the currency's volatility which can definitely affect potential profits. Not to mention the reluctance of the government to fully recognize Bitcoin.

Probably in some developed countries legal bitcoin of course already available some services both store and other facilities that provide transactions both online and offline using bitcoin facilities, and maybe only time factor bitcoin will be a digital currency that can be used in various countries with various transaction services
Indeed. Because on some countries like Japan, they already have a foundation to operate and generate bitcoin because they do have a rich economy to support bitcoin's legalization in their country and a mass number of their citizens have already been using it ever since. It will be sure that if some of the various countries worldwide will legalizing bitcoin, and have a capacity to operate and generate it, it will be sure that many retailers among establishments will accept bitcoin as a term of payment and currency.
625  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Should I Choose Bitcoin ?? on: July 31, 2017, 04:47:56 PM
Why Should I Choose Bitcoin ??
It's the first question one should face while starting to deal in bitcoins and answer this will satisfies you to choose bitcoin over others. Some of the benefits that Bitcoin have over other includes :

1-Quick transactions – Bitcoin is transferred quickly over the Internet.
2-No expenses/low charges – Unlike credit cards, Bitcoin can be utilized for nothing or low costs.. This enhances revenues margins deals.
3-International installments – Bitcoin is used all over the globe; e-commerce sellers and service suppliers can easily agree to take international payments. Which uncovered new potential commercial centers for them.
4-Information is secure – As we have seen with late hacks on general retailers’ disbursement processing systems, the Internet is not generally a secure place for private information. With Bitcoin, clients don’t surrender private data.
5-Much More Easier – Bitcoin is Much more easier rather than we think.Means to say It’s Much more easier than transfering a Payment from bank account From bitcoin you can even transfer a Payment in few clicks even While listening songs.
-Hope this will help you in believing Bitcoins !
All the stated sentences are really significant because I can also sense those statements to be the best features bitcoin have to make you decide to choose bitcoin. Also, decentralize block chain is one of its unique feature because bitcoin is a part from the government controls unlike banks. With this, you are the only one who is capable of maintaining, accessing and improving your own assets also to add up the monitoring. It is also a real handy because it can be save on electronic wallet wherein you can access it anywhere as long as you have internet connection.
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in College??? on: July 31, 2017, 04:17:40 PM
Bitcoin as a course or any related currency on web.
In my country we have multiple courses in computer especially programing and web developments. My course is also information technology, but i've never heard or learn about online currency as bitcoin. In present, and future studies is there any chances for inserting about it in education. In your country is it available?
It would be better for any country to adopt bitcoin in educating new generations. Instead of playing games and wasting money in surfing xxx sites.
It will be possible to engage or put bitcoin into college curriculum to be one of their core subjects to be taken up especially when it is related with the usage of modern technology because we all know that bitcoin is currently generated and accessed through technological mediums. But it might be not a necessary thing to do if still on your country bitcoin has not yet been legalize and also, the decision to put up bitcoin into college will be depending into their government specifically the department of education if they will implement the engagement of learning bitcoin anf using it into college courses.
627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the transaction price of bitcoin so high? on: July 31, 2017, 03:28:08 PM
Why the transaction price of bitcoin so high? I honestly do not understand the reasons for such prices. All say that this is a fee to miners, but how much time need to a regular PC made all the necessary calculations, and their equipment is much faster. Can somebody explain why the transaction price is high, but if you take part in mining the minimal income?
I think bitcoin transaction fee gets higher because it also gets along with bitcoin's price valuw which we can already see that is much larger compared to the usual one when it was newly established. It also rises for the sake of the payment that are used to pay miners for their service on processing the transaction request. It is quite unfair to their part if bitcoin has already increase its price value but they still not experiencing its progress. So better do big transactions so that the transaction fee you will pay is appropriate to the transaction you will do.
628  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin provide income on line? on: July 31, 2017, 03:19:56 PM
many of my friends did not work but a lot of money away was great when compared, to me that is still working in the factory, I was confused from where producer obtained from bitcoin?

There are many online jobs that offers bitcoin as its form of payment to your job. A good example would be signature campaign, before the income here was not that good but after many price hike on the value of bitcoin the daily income on my signature campaigns also grew. Today my earnings from signature campaign would reach 9,000 pesos monthly and that is very helpful to me and my family.

Signature campaign can give you a decent income but it is not sustainable since most and come and go. I think the better way is trading if you can learn trading develop your own strategy and stick to it, you should be successful.

Indeed, it can provide us money , but it doesnt mean we have to be live independently from bitcoin which we all know for having a long time wating for earning money simply because it takes time for trading and well actually bitcoin's values was consistently dumping and pumping so instability of its value was one of the cons we have to faced.
629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why some people prefer Bitcoin over fiat ? on: July 31, 2017, 01:02:05 PM
Bitcoin is being used widely in porn sites, gambling and drug dealing sectors. Is that why the btc made for ? I have seen a lot of members in this forum discussing about buying drugs, gambling and enjoying porn with bitcoin. Is not it a misuse of a currency ? Block chain tech is a awesome tech and btc is getting popular. I hate these misuses of precious btc. It hurts me. This will lead into unhealthy society along with unhealthy future generation.
Bitcoin has been made for a greater purpose not just for those leisure or vices of certain groups of people. Bitcoin has a greater purpose more than that and that it is to uphold the typical currency into an innovative one through the use of modern technology. Bitcoin's usage may be bad or good depending on the user's perception and way of managing it for their own benefit. It must be a responsibility and a job for us to secure and be responsible of using bitcoin in proper ways that it was supposed to be used.
630  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible for the bitcoin to lose it's value ? on: July 30, 2017, 08:22:30 PM
Hi , I'm new so basically I still have a lot to learn about the cryptocurrency , but I would like to know if it would be possible for the bitcoin to start the downfall ? I mean like what scenario can happen that the bitcoin would be pushed back like 5-6 years ?
Sorry if my post is in the wrong place or it's not relevant.
I think the only way I can see that bitcoin can lose its value is in terms of dumps. Yes it is true that bitcoin can lose its value through dump because its value is down but not that long and it is not that permanent. It is just  a normal phenomenon in the marjet that is why bitcoin's price is dumping. But nothing more, nothing less I cannot see any other reasons to state that bitcoin will lose its value because bitcoin can be accessed and generated through the modern technology with the use of internet. So as technology innovates, bitcoin's price is really capable to rise added by the number of consumers demands that is why it cannot just lose its value that easy as long as there are people supporting it, it will never lose its value.
631  Economy / Economics / Re: Would bitcoin help teach kids about saving? on: July 30, 2017, 03:05:40 PM
So I have 2 cousins. One of them doesn't save and is a huge spender while the other is a saver and spends only once a year. So would bitcoin be a good way to teach them about saving? Since, mining bitcoin is the only way to make alot of bitcoin, I would use a alt wallet to show them what happens if you spend and don't save. What do you think?
Since bitcoin has already been popular and a massive number of users has already been using it, I think it will be easy to teach bitcoin on kids because bitcoin learning is not that complicated to teach on them. It will be a great move to teach them on using bitcoin in terms of saving right now because it will be their tough foundation in the future. Saving right now with bitcoin while they are still young will be beneficial to them when they get a little bit young because on that time bitcoin will surely have reached its price peak. You may also teach them how to spend some of their earnings on investments to add up some to their current money.
632  Economy / Economics / Re: Cashless society on: July 30, 2017, 01:19:24 PM
Have you ever wondered how would the world's economy be like in the future as a cashless society?

Perhaps, with the increased traction of blockchain acceptance nowadays, could lead to the creation of digital fiat currencies powered by blockchains that are managed by governments themselves. With this in mind, there would be no need for physical cash, as digital fiat currencies would provide many advantages such as quick settlement, global payments, full transparency, implants use on citizens to make payments, and more.

If this becomes a reality, which I'm sure that it will, it would radically transform our lives for the better and reduce criminal activity as a result of the full transparency and auditability that a digital fiat currency would have thanks to the power of the blockchain technology.

Also, it makes me wonder if cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin would exist by that time, or will they co-exist with digital fiat currencies.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this.  Wink
Getting into the moment to say that we are in a cashless society will be really possible because year by year or time by time technology innovates. Bitcoin as we all know is generated by modern technology so as technology rises, it will be also an opportunity for bitcoin to be popularize and rise and all the things in our environment will be on digital or in short, will be put into instant by the use of technology. Payments will be surely be generated online or by use of technology leading to society becoming cashless.
633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.? on: July 30, 2017, 11:49:03 AM
I've just thought about this for a moment but, if we want bitcoin to get more popularity, attention or acceptance would it be nice to make some advertisement about it on T.V.? I don't know if in other countries they advertise bitcoin but in my country, I haven't seen one. How do you think advertising bitcoin will affect the people? Any thoughts?
It will be a great idea. Since you have just said that it is not yet popular in some countries even it is already widely spread worldwide. The help of technology with the use of different medium such as television to advertise bitcoin will be a sure help and effective to make it popular on many people who do not know bitcoin yet. Advertisements will be a great help to make them understand better what bitcoin is.
634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: July 30, 2017, 10:41:40 AM
I've been reading through this forums for the past few weeks and all I see is "this coin is dead" or "everything is a shit coin". Is there any alt coin with potential to invest in or is it only bitcoin? I don't mean like a few here and there, I mean over 100 coins.
There are lots of altcoin that are worth buying and investing for. The only needs is for you to explore those coins by just simply doing a research or background check about that certain altcoin and if you do not even have that much time to research, you may just look up into the marketplace for its price value status and start comparing those and you must even try to take a risk of at least trying them so that you can experience if it is worthy or not. The decision and the ability to choose is just on your hands. There are lots of altcoin to unlock waiting for you to see them and explore its worth.
635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in bitcoins today and be a millionaire in the future! on: July 30, 2017, 07:29:38 AM
http://www.cnbc.com/2017/06/20/bitcoin-millionaire-erik-finman-says-going-to-college-isnt-worth-it.html

Have you heard of the story of a 12 year old kid who wagered with his mom that if he will be a millionaire at age 18 he will not go to college. To his mothers surprise he is now a millionaire and never went to college. His secret he bought bitcoin at 12$ with a 1000 $ gift from his grandmother.

If we also dream of getting rich in the future it is now time to invest in bitcoins. Many said that we will be experiencing bubbles more often, that is true but we have survived it and still bitcoin keeps moving on.

If we want to get rich invest in bitcoins today. The price of bitcoin today is at 2600$ and moving up but imagine its value 5 to 10 years from now.
Yes it can be really possible for him to get rich because he have a good foundation on it because he just buy it for a very low price of $12 and imagine how much a bitcoin costs in our current time. It is not just doubled, tripled but it do really surpass the original price he have bought for about more 10times price right now. That was a great move on his time of buying bitcoin while it is still on dump and just holding it for a long time until it pumps to a price we can never think to happen.
636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best time to buy altcoins? on: July 30, 2017, 07:19:19 AM
Hi guys. I'm looking to invest a couple of thousand dollars in cryptocurrency. I'm not a trader and would like to invest in currently undervalued alcoins with the best potential for the long term growth. Have been reading up extensively and following the markets but still not sure if now is the best time to enter.

Thus requesting an insight from you: invest now or wait and see what the August brings? And what are the possible scenarios for altcoins it can bring?
I think altcoin's best time for buying is just the same with the bitcoin's best time for buying. A strategical way to know when to buy cryptocurrency is to observe and be updated on the price value status of every cryptocurrency in the market. It is best way to buy altcoin when its price dump an opportunity to add up your altcoin holdings and sell those when the price pumps to gain more profit that is surely beneficial on your part.
637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum best for investment? on: July 29, 2017, 11:34:28 PM
Hello, As i am looking in crypto market now so i am thinking Ethereum is good for investment now. What is your opinion for this?
If you want to know if Ethereum will be a good choice for investment that will give you a great count of profit, why don't you at least take a risk and give it a try investing some if your assets into it and observe for a couple of days or week and see if there is an increase or progress that have happened within your investment. You will not know a thing with just questions, better try it to know it by yourself because we have different experiences on same matter.
638  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin dead? on: July 29, 2017, 11:05:52 PM
short answer no, just a little crisis due to the price being low/many lost huge amount of money because they bought at the peak, taxes being a problem, and other small stuff

just a despair phase that is very long apparently
Indeed. Bitcoin is just put into death because people tend to put matter over their minds that should be mind over matter. They are just depending and having their basis to say that bitcoin is dying because of the dumps that we all know a normal phenomenon in the market. They are just looking into the negative side that bitcoin price dump is a serious thing to worry but seriously it is not. Actually, many people tends to see it as a great opportunity to increase their bitcoin holdings by buying more bitcoin and gladly sell them when the price pump meets their standard of selling. Bitcoin is not going to die that easy. We are just over reacting when its price dumps.
639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is the future of crypto, bitcoin is not. on: July 29, 2017, 10:58:48 PM
ETH will allow $2T of underground economy to become more structured (and possibly less underground) through DAOs.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/04/23/americas-2-trillion-shadow-economy-is-the-recessions-big-winner/

If it captures 1% of that $2T, it is equivalent to $20B, which would put ETH somewhere around $150. Those who sell for $2 will shit bricks, eat sand and may even commit suicide in the years to come. If it captures 10% of that ETH will be $1500. I know it sounds crazy, but so did the Internet in 1995.

Once it's launched their main focus will be on scalability, which I think is the real reason crypto is not ready for mainstream. Once they can handle 100K TPS (and I'm sure they will), it's game over.

Do you mean that the price alone determines whether a thing would be future? I don't think so. There have been so many fuss about this ethereum thing, though I wouldn't deny the fact that it is interesting, but most of the news about it seems to be overrated and exaggerated.
I agree most of the news that are widely spread about bitcoin and ethereum comparison is somewhat interesting but if you will observe those stuffs are maybe be just speculations or exaggerations to uphold a certain altcoin can surpass bitcoin. That is how media affects the thinking and perception of a person over matter wherein they are easily attracted of the price hike without knowing its real essence and the totality of the news being dissiminated.
640  Other / Off-topic / Re: Young people should go all in on bitcoin on: July 28, 2017, 10:54:16 PM
Forget about everything else and just put everything on bitcoin. You are living with your parents, they pay everything for you, you got nothing to lose. If I was living with my parents, I would save everything and buy bitcoin monthly. If BTC doesn't keep rising you can still reach the 21 BTC holder group, then save this and retire in 10 years when the price makes you a millionaire.

Go all in on regret later. You are on a privileged position to profit from high risk high reward moves. No risk no win, and BTC is the best long term high risk bet.

It may be right, but I think you are just provoking young people. They decide what they want to do.And parents will not accept this way unless the parents are also doing these kind of living. But it is really risky trusting in this digital currency.
Indeed. The decision will be depending on the young people whether they will be engaging on bitcoin or not. In the first place, they must know first bitcoin before anything else and the way of provoking them to go all in with bitcoin is not the proper way to handle this one. They must start from the beginning of orientation and knowing what bitcoin is then let them decide and if they agree that is the time you have to teach them how to start up and guide them all through out. Learning and engaging on bitcoin must not be forced and provocatice. It must be persuasive in a way that they will decide if they will like it or not.
