461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Adopt New coins ? on: October 05, 2019, 07:00:49 AM
Hi,

So Bitcoin has issues like speed of transactions and energy consumption.

As there is no 'team' behind bitcoin, how is it going to develop and make sure it is always competing with newer coins?

There are alot of coins resolving these issues and people are buying into them, but why if bitcoin is considered No. 1 ? Is there a possiblity the  new coins could be linked with bitcoin or that  future bitcoin 'integrates with them and  their technology which therfore increases their prices?

Trying to understand this universe!

Thanks in advance

L

I think bitcoin will never be a team in different coins because they have different ways and different price in the market. Bitcoin do not belongs to anyone except of course the person under the pseudo name of satoshi nakamoto. If there will be new coin then it will process on its own and not as a part of the bitcoin.
462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi? on: October 04, 2019, 02:13:40 PM
I think digging too much about Satoshi wouldn't make sense anymore. If he wants to expose himself then it would be just easy but it's his choice to keep things in private so we must respect that. We don't know the reason why he has to hide his identity but it might be for his own safety. There are people who are trying to steal Satoshi's identity but everything won't surely work.

Yes, I agree to this statement because keep digging to the real satoshi won't make any changes unless the real satoshi nakamoto will speak for itself. Everybody wants to know who is satoshi nakamoto and other people try to say that they are the real satoshi and in the end, nothing will happen.
463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto - Can We Find Him ? on: October 04, 2019, 01:47:15 PM
Who is Satoshi Nakamoto. No one knows who Satoshi Nakamoto really is, but we do know that he published a paper proposing the invention of the Bitcoin protocol back in November 2008, This paper can now be read on the official Bitcoin website, Bitcoin.org.

Nakamoto provided the first version of the bitcoin software client in 2009. He and others contributed towards the development of the project, but by the end of 2010, he made himself a less prominent figure in the rapidly growing Bitcoin community.

Nakamoto never revealed anything about himself and his last known message was in the spring of 2011, stating that he had “moved on to other things”.

Where is he now? ...

https://www.bitcrypt.co/did-satoshi-nakamoto-create-bitcoin/

No one ever knows where and who the real Satoshi Nakamoto is. When maybe this group or a single person created bitcoin, it didn't say anything nor show it's true identity. If they or she or he really shows itself then I think the person behind that pseudo name will become the center of attention.
464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still bother to engage non Bitcoiners? on: October 04, 2019, 01:15:39 PM
I was perusing another forum today with a long running cryptcurrency thread. To my non amazement they're still debating the nature of the whole thing in the exact same way they were 2-3-4-5 years ago. The same people are waiting to be convinced. The same people are trying to convince them.

This strikes me as a complete and utter waste of calories. I'd rather let people believe what they want. Me convincing them won't help anyone. They're not going to convince me of anything. My attitude is - crypto is here. You may as well sit back and see what happens as nothing I do, say or listen to will change it.

Are you still embroiled in debates with friends and internet creeps or have you let it slide?

As my part, at first of course I will do my best to persuade all the non bitcoiners to start investing on the cryptocurrency, but if they don't want to believe then I will not push myself to them and force them to use and invest on the crypto currency. In my side, I said all the things that can persuade to the non bitcoiners.
465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you think Bitcoin is the world's most widely used cryptocurrency, you're wrong on: October 04, 2019, 12:28:31 PM
If you think Bitcoin is the world's most widely used cryptocurrency, you're probably wrong.

What’s the world’s most widely used cryptocurrency? If you think it’s Bitcoin, which accounts for about 70% of all the digital-asset world’s market value, you’re probably wrong.

While concrete figures on trading volumes are hard to come by in this often murky corner of finance, data from CoinMarketCap.com show that the token with the highest daily and monthly trading volume is Tether, whose market capitalization is more than 30 times smaller. Tether’s volume surpassed that of Bitcoin’s for the first time in April and has consistently exceeded it since early August at about $21 billion per day, the data provider says.

With Tether’s monthly trading volume about 18% higher than that of Bitcoin, it’s arguably the most important coin in the crypto ecosystem. Tether’s also one of the main reasons why regulators regard cryptocurrencies with a wary eye, and have put the breaks on crypto exchange-traded funds amid concern of market manipulation.

“If there is no Tether, we lose a massive amount of daily volume -- around $1 billion or more depending on the data source,” said Lex Sokolin, global financial technology co-head at ConsenSys, which offers blockchain technology. “Some of the concerning potential patters of trading in the market may start to fall away.”

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-10-01/tether-not-bitcoin-likely-the-world-s-most-used-cryptocurrency

Then it proves that even though bitcoin is the most widely known crypto in the world and of course for the beginner, there are still other crypto that are getting the first rank when it comes to trading, there are some altcoins that always being invested.
466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin isn't just an investment, it is the future on: October 04, 2019, 09:54:28 AM
From my last post about Bitcoin investment,  following the valuable contributions of members of the forum,  I learnt that Bitcoin investment is not just something that blossoms in a few days,  rather it takes patience.

That gave rise to my new topic.
Bitcoin isn't just an investment, but it is the future...

Let's all share our thoughts about this, in order to encourage ourselves and build a stronger community of users.

I agree on your statement because many people invest on bitcoin because they want to have a secure future. So that, they won't have any problem when that future comes. I also believe that bitcoin in the future will make a large name and will be known from different countries and also they will not ban the cryptocurrency.
467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What did you know about Bitcoin before becoming a bitcoiner? on: October 04, 2019, 07:09:43 AM
This is a question to people who at some point discovered Bitcoin, but only became Bitcoin enthusiasts later - what was your experience?

I'll start with my story - I have first learned about Bitcoin in 2012 when I was looking for payment options for one online deal. In the end I used some other payment options, and Bitcoin didn't catch my interest, although I did claim a 0.005 BTC faucet once.

Then in 2014 I have learned about Dogecoin, and I still have vague understanding of cryptocurrency, I traded my BTC for DOGE and even tried to mine DOGE on my GPU. Then I quickly forgot about crypto again.

After that Bitcoin caught my attention in 2016 and I finally became a bitcoiner.

Looking back at all this, I wonder why it took me so long to became more involved in Bitcoin. What if millions of other people know about Bitcoin, but don't consider it as payment option or investment or store of value - how can we catch their attention?

Before, the only thing I know about bitcoin is that it is intangible meaning it cannot be touch because its only in the digital world and can only be access using internet. After reading and staying in this forum, my knowledge are increasing but of course, I'm still learning.
468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the benefit of being Satoshi Nakamoto? on: October 04, 2019, 02:38:42 AM
Till now, I have read many news from different people claiming they are Satoshi Nakamato.
We all know all of them are lying. But, What is the benefit of being Satoshi Nakamato? If there was any benefit the real Satoshi Nakamato would have appeared by now.
I think even if Satoshi Nakamoto is found, he/she will have trouble with governments and there will be no benefit.

There are many benefits of being the real Satoshi Nakamoto, and one of it is getting such a fame because of the bitcoin. But being famous and once the identity revealed then there are many controversies that will occur and of course the attention of the government will turn to you.
469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Cryptocurrency? on: October 04, 2019, 01:51:11 AM
What is the First Cryptocurrency(First digital money)?

As for as I know, bitcoin is the first ever cryptocurrency that was ever created before the different altcoins like litrcoin, dogecoin and etc. Bitcoin was created under the pseudoname of Satoshi Nakamoto since no one ever know whether it is a male, a female, or a group of people to create this first digital money.
470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 10 Years From Now on: October 04, 2019, 12:23:04 AM

We know that Bitcoin celebrated its 10th year anniversary this year and for the past many years so many things had happened especially with the birth of this new and trending cryptocurrency industry. In a short period (as compared to the fiat currencies we have around) of time, Bitcoin  was able to achieve many things. Yes, Bitcoin is not perfect and maybe it will never be but with its accomplishments at hand, we have a lot to celebrate actually.

Now, Bitcoin is starting its journey for the next 10 years. There are many challenges and maybe even negative developments that can severely affects its viability but at the end of the day I am sure that Bitcoin can be able to weather them all.

How do you see Bitcoin 10 years from today?

I see bitcoin in 10 years as being more appreciated and it affects and help more people like me. If many countries will accept the bitcoin as early as possible maybe it can change the trading of different countries across the world and if lucky maybe it will replace the fiat money and make bitcoin as a mode of some payment.
471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Replace Gold! Here's Why... on: October 03, 2019, 11:16:51 PM
Overtime I've researched what has made gold desirable as a store of value.

Additionally I've come to understand the limitations of Gold, and why I believe Gold will be seen as the go to store of value less and less going into the future.

We're living in an increasingly high speed, digital world, where people expect instant access to their funds and their stored value.

Gold cannot and will not be able to offer this to future generations, who will not accept the limitations of Gold.

I believe Bitcoin meets the and surpasses many of the attributes offered by Gold.

For this reason I think Bitcoin will grow to become the primary store of value for people, and will begin taking market cap away from Gold.

I've created a video below where I list the attributes that Bitcoin has, that Gold simply does not have, and why Gold cannot compete with Bitcoin.

I believe proponents of Bitcoin have been too soft on Gold. Gold is severely limited.

Please watch the video and let me know what you think. Thanks

https://youtu.be/UyaNJMxWmSU

For me, in terms of the value or the market price, yes, bitcoin will replace the gold but I think when it comes to investing, I think it will be the same because in both gold and bitcoin, they have different opportunities in their different ways. Bitcoin market price can also be dump same as the gold but also their price can be increase also.
472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency user friendly? on: October 03, 2019, 07:07:13 AM
I'm curious to know what the community thinks in terms of how user friendly entering this market is? I know we've come a long way from the days when UX/UI was extremely poor for most companies but are there other areas that require improvement?

For me, bitcoin or the crypto community is a user-friendly because anywhere and anytime you can access your wallet and any other crypto related if you have an internet connection. But entering this market is dangerous because you can lose your money but you can also gain more money.
473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why hasn't any altcoin replaced bitcoin? on: October 03, 2019, 02:20:18 AM
I think bitcoin has been one of the biggest innovations of the human in the past years. Many altcoins have been created after bitcoin. But none of  them have been successful as bitcoin is. Why is that?
Why no altcoin can replace bticoin?
Every new thing and every technology is usually replaced by a newer one as the world is always developing.

The first television built was mechanical, then electronic television were invented, then colour televisions, digital, 3D, ....
The first automobiles invented were steam-powered wheeled vehicles, then electric automobiles appeared. Now we have autonomous cars. Now we have Tesla model S. Now we have Lamborghini.
All of us know about the developments made in mobile phones.

Every thing is being developed. Every device is finally replaced by a newer one. Why no altcoin has replaced bitcoin till now? Do you think it will happen in future?
I personally think people will trust what Satoshi has created more than altcoins till many years later.
Altcoins are created to make the developers rich. But bitcoin is different. Bitcoin was created in favor of us. So, no altcoin can be trusted as bitcoin.

What do you think?

All of the altcoins are successful it's just cannot surpass the market price of bitcoin. Bitcoin has the biggest innovations because when there is a beginner in the crypto world, only the bitcoin is the first that was being introduced because it is popular, then followed by the altcoins.
474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin was Created by the CIA, FBI, US Military??? on: October 03, 2019, 01:47:28 AM
What if Bitcoin was actually created by the CIA, or FBI, US Military to gather some intelligence? This weird imagination has been lingering in my brain because Bitcoin has all the signatures of what the USA Intelligence can create, Similar to the way they have created things in the past.

1. No one has ever created something as big and enormous as Bitcoin and chooses to remain anonymous. The temptation is always too strong for a mortal human being to resist.

2. I am of the opinion that Bitcoin is too complex to be the handwork of one man or few persons. And how it was quickly accepted and distributed shows the evidence of complex and thorough planning, too thorough, and too complex to fit into one brain Roll Eyes

3. How the founders identities were carefully concealed from beginning to the end, without any trace. You will agree with me that only intelligence professional can achieve that level of privacy and anonymity.

And you know, they won't make noise about it until they have gathered enough intelligence. Or may never say anything about it forever, just using it secretly for their purpose. What do you think? Have you ever reasoned in this direction?

I think if bitcoin was created by fbi,cia or us military, the bitcoin will be regulated assuming that it is still decentralized. Since the government has the control over the military, then bitcoin will still be holded by the government. Any wrong actions or against the law will be penalized.
475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Bitcoin and the games industry? on: October 02, 2019, 03:34:34 PM
Hey guys, I was wondering about Bitcoin, blockchain and cryptos in general and their relation to the games industry

We all know, people at my age (31 years) growed up playing games, surfing the internet and they are  very close to technology in general

Games always have put new technologies to evolving the market, like: Internet to play multiplayer games, virtual reality and 3d to have a deeper experience, photorealism, payment inside app/game and etc

But until now, games industry didn't use any new technology related to cryptos

Do you think they will use?
And if yes, how they can use BTC, blockchain and cryptos in general?

The only and most obvious for me is use cryptos to pay games, in steam, psn, xbox live and etc, but I'd like to see your ideas guys

There are games that represents how the bitcoin works. It gives the knowledge to all the users about the blockchain and cryptos. I think in the future they will use the bitcoin for payment and of course a way to give some knowledge about how the digital world works.
476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will "satoshi" ever login again? on: October 02, 2019, 03:09:14 PM
Do you think "satoshi" will ever just randomly log in one day and post something?

It seems as if that would be the only way for "satoshi" to ever be proven to be who he is.

No one can assure that and that goes the same for me. I think satoshi will not show up without giving notice and just get all attentions from the different country and the governments. If that will happen then all people in the digital world will be shocked because satoshi finally shows itself.
477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: October 02, 2019, 02:41:19 PM
If that's even his name. Just read the bitcoin wiki on him and I'm amazed. Nobody knows him.

Long time passed since he last posted in here. Why? "Busy"? I don't think so. He was active when bitcoin needed support but since the slashdot...
Also, it seems has knowledge in many areas, especially economy. He doesn't act like the average human. Not taking advantage out of his creation, leaving without telling anything. Is he even a single person or a group?

How can someone create something so great and not stepping out to get the credit?

I think the reason why he or she or they did no want to show off their identity is because they will be getting more attention because he/she/they invent such an incredible idea that helps many people. I think he/she/they just didn't want more attention like they are happy that the cryptocurrency is still on going.
478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still excited when there is news about the real Satoshi coming up on: October 02, 2019, 01:31:00 PM
There is now a lot of news about Satoshi Nakamoto coming up or uncovered are you still excited every time there is news about new discovery on who Satoshi Nakamoto is and his whereabouts.

We have fed by so many lies about this Nakamoto pretenders some of them are good storyteller some of them might be true I have a hard time analyzing the best version of the story.

In my case, I didn't really gets too much excited when there is a news about Satoshi showing up. If Satoshi wants to show up why did he/she or they didn't do that as early as the bitcoin was created. Once he or she or they, showed up, it will give a fame instantly.
479  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Can I Increase Bitcoin? on: October 02, 2019, 06:26:14 AM
Hi!
I created this thread to know the best ways to increase Bitcoins.

I am looking only for the best and secure options.

Thanks  Smiley

Like what I have been doing, I'm joining some campaign in this forum to earn money. Some people buy bitcoins and they start holding it until the price of the bitcoin pumps up. Then after that, they will sell the bitcoin that they are holding. Some people invest and do some trading to increase their bitcoin.
480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Doing This? on: October 02, 2019, 04:54:21 AM
I want to ask all of you, do you share or give very private things (private key, passphrase, password and else) of Bitcoin to your family? I ask like this because I think if something bad happens to us (I personally hope it doesn't happen), it would be better if we pass down all the things from bitcoin that we have to our families. For example, when we have an accident that makes us comatose state (I hope it won't happen) at the hospital and we need medical expenses, it would be better if our wife or children can take money from the bitcoin that we have to use as our medical expenses.

I personally bequeath all my bitcoin knowledge to my family. I told them my bitcoin assets, how I made money from bitcoin, and also told them how to access them. All of this I did so that all of my bitcoin assets could be useful for my family. What about you guys, do you guys do the same with me?

Sometimes I give some of my private things like private key on my family but not in my friends. I think it right because like what you have said, we don't when emergency happens. So, I think giving private keys and knowledge about bitcoins to your family will help them lessen the load in their backs because of the miscellaneous.
