PhoenixMiner, any chance for miner update to support newest AMD drivers?
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 4.9c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: April 28, 2020, 11:28:06 AM
Hi, I would want to switch to PhoenixMiner from ClaymoreMiner, however I do not know how to configure. Could anyone guide me to set it up with PhoenixMiner and get the same or more hashrate? Thank You.

Current setup:
- Miner = ClaymoreMiner 15.0
- Cards = RX580 8GB (bios moded)
- OS = Windows 10
- Driver = Blockchain Driver
- Hashrate = 33mh/s
- Added command line = rxboost and strap

Claymore Command line:
EthDcrMiner64.exe -platform 1 -epool stratum+tcp://daggerhashimoto.eu-new.nicehash.com:3353 -ewal 36tkokW5zecwpwGh3RjGbEvrer2VnNokAX.HomePC -fanmin 70 -fanmax 80 -rxboost 30 -strap 1 -dcri 25 -mode 1 -esm 3 -epsw x -allpools 1 -r 1

Phoenix miner didn't have rxboost option or analog. For changing REF parameter of card (this is what rxboost do) you must use AMD Memory Tweak tool. If you shoudn't use it PM didn't give more speed than CM.

What has happened to the miner? I wondered why on new drivers the DEAD error was coming up and looks like the miner has not really been updated this year.  Huh
You must give more info about your system, drivers, cards, what algo you mine.

I mine eth on RX580 8Gb latest drivers and Windows 10. All works fine.

My bad bro.

I have Win 10 Pro (1903), vega 56, Adrenalin 20.4.1, usually mine on Saber (TUBE). After going over the settings few times it looks like the miner, only asking as its not had an update on Git for over 4 months which may be just waiting till the devs are back.
Try to rollback drivers to 20.3.1.

Ok. One card runing for one minute and zero shares found is enough as a proof. Gentlemen believe a word Grin

The point is: a rare Polaris card can hash 34 mhs or so stable. And it doesnt matter if you know or you dont know ho to achive such hashes, its impossible for most of Polaris cards.
Besides, higher power consumption makes such configs electricity cost dependent and not always profitable.
amen
Right, forget about it. I'm not going to prove anything to anyone.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 4.9c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: April 10, 2020, 09:45:59 PM
I showed 1 RX 580 8Gb card - it's enough. Other cards looks similiar.
This card running stable for weeks with this settings without any incorrect share. It's Sapphire RX580 8Gb Nitro+ SE.
Core and mvddc voltages for each card can be individual and needs time to pickup best values for each.
All cards have hynix MJR memory.
Power consumption from the wall maybe a bit higher, but not so much. If chip consumpes 95-96W summary would about 20-25W more. So it 115-120W. My Corsair PU shows such increase when I run 1 card.

And don't forget about REF setting in AMD Memory Tweak tool. For each card this value differs. For card on screen it 64.

Not all my 580 cards can give 34MH/s. Depends on card quality. Range of speeds is 33.5-34.1MH/s.
Anyway your results bother me much:)
Can you pls provide screenshot of declared hashes? Sure uptime is much more than 24 or so hours now..
Ill treat with understanding if its not possible at the moment.

It wout be nice if  -hstats 2 was used at config...
Here screen from Claymore miner. I can't use Pnoenix in this moments - I use latest drivers didn't supported by PM. But on PM speed is more about 400-500 kH/s.
I didn't use -rxboost or -hstats. I use my own straps and AMD Memory Tweak tool.

What consumption have you got from the wall per card? How many of your cards hashes 34 mh stable?

If you didn't know how to do that and got stable speed, didn't wrote that it's a fake.
I dont know Smiley. Just share your settings and timings and we will check if all of our cards hashes 34 mh stable.
или этo ceкpeт? Wink
95W showed by miner and GPU-Z, so about 110W from wall.

Why I must share my timings, clocks and votages, settings with you?

It seems to be a phenomena for people to post up crazy hash number for cards without true stability.  32.x is really all anyone is going to get out of a 580 stable.  They may be able to achieve 34 for one or 2 jobs but bet that card crashes hard after a short period of time.
My RX 580 8Gb gives 34.1 MH/s with PM. If you didn't know how to do that and got stable speed, didn't wrote that it's a fake.

i cant reach 34.1 mhs with PM ... well , with cm i have 34 and 34.1 on all my rx 580 series ... anyone has a solution for this ?
CM use with -rxboost parameter?
yes uncle ...
So, to reach max speed with PM you need an AMD Memory Tweak Tool to set REF parameter manually.
PM didn't have analog of -rxboost option. But AMD MTT can do it on the fly just during mining.
Got to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5123724.0
Download tool and launch it. Set REF parameter. That's all. Your mining speed will increase.

wait , i using msi afterburner . do i need to use that link ?

about rxboost i not use

my code in is :
Code:
PhoenixMiner.exe -pool eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -pool2 asia1.ethermine.org:4444 -wal 0x4a3a28f53371a8c6b3e66955722c.TX -proto 3

Yes, you need. Increasing REF parameter is possible only via CM -rxboost parameter or via AMD Memory Tweak.

Miner didn't support newest 20.4.1 AMD drivers. Miner needs update.
Looks like AMD make new OpenCL driver...

I'm not having any issues with my Vegas(64,VII) and Navi.  haven't tried 4xx/5xx yet.  what problem are you having?
Miner have full functionality only with known OpenCL driver. In this case it can use optimized eth kernels for optimal speed.
Sometimes in driver updates AMD change OpenCL driver and miner need update too for work properly.
With known OpenCL driver miner 1st string after launch writes version of founded OpenCL driver. F.e. on 20.3.x and previous miner writes that it Find known OpenCL driver version 19.12.2-3 (OpenCL driver didn't changes from 19.12.2 driver up to 20.3.1)

On new 20.4.1 driver miner wrote 1st string after launch that finded OpenCL driver is unknown. Miner can't use optimized kernels for optimal speed. And without these kernels speed rate is jumps up and down, and many rejected shares appears. So better use old drivers or wait miner update.

168mh/s to 174 mh/s only 2 clicks
( GPU 580 8gb out of box it came with Bios Compute Mode by default )
the 2 gpu give me 27.822 and second 27.825 mh/s max oc

https://imgur.com/7vWFv0t

switched bios to gaming mode ( i just move it up )

got 172 mh/s max 2 gpu with gaming mode 29.833 and 29.835 mh/s without OC
https://imgur.com/V4I8HXA

i oc'd and got around 174 or 173 mh/s

done
_________
i have downloaded PhoenixMiner  idk this main or what
https://phoenix-miner.github.io
extract password is : phoenix

and i'm running from phoenix from bitcointalk in  173 or 174
now running 177.300 phoenixminer downloaded from website https://phoenix-miner.github.io

https://imgur.com/vv4EsfB

bios switch more 4 or 5 mh/s

downloaded from https://phoenix-miner.github.io more 5,4,6 mh/s

and i really did not notice Which gpu's did more mh/s exactly i was focused 580 only

Total  10.xxx mh/s
and all settings are ready you just need to change wallet

reply me if you see is better or not to share that
Sorry pros , just want post something useful

wish help you all Good luck everyone
Another scammed software...
Phoenix Miner can be downloaded from this forum thread without any passwords. No other places.

I really need one answer

now i have Rig 6 GPU 169 Mh/s to 168 Mh/s Hashrate

and i got refunded something by Amazon 311$

so now i want buy new GPU price max 400$ i can add 90$ more

Which best GPU to buy for 400$ ?

i have much enough my PSU , PhoenixMiner says using 650w to 660w
and my psu 1200 platinum

So i can buy any card , guide me for best Hashrate

Really can't go wrong with a RX5700 non-XT. The only reason to go non-xt is there is maybe a 3% performance increase but a 15% price increase. This is also before any modifications. If you want to mod comfortably with less chance of bricking, go with a dual bios card. My card of choice is the XFX RX 5700. I am glad it has dual bios because when I tried to mod it the first time it wouldn't boot, so flipped the switch back to the other BIOS and resolved the issue. Sometimes you can get lucky and get a MSI Mech for $299 as a refurb. I have 2 of them and they get 55MH/s but I will say, I haven't had any luck with the Evoke at all. The best I can get them, after modification, is 52.4MH/s.

But it is your money you can spend it how you see fit.
It's no need in dual bios if you have any other card to connect monitor. If you flash wrong bios just reboot with monitor connected to other card (even integrated can help) and wrote right or original bios.
