Simplemining just implemented Rxboost on linux  Cool

I am running Rxboost on ethOS (Linux), RX474 32.1mh/s , before 31.4mh/s

Ubuntu 18.04, 19.10 - linux driver, use claymore 12.0. I prefer use bios modded cards and not see why realtime straps better, its only additional load time and crash risks on my mind.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5123724.0 -  AMD Mem Tweak - tool, which give same result, as rxboost (see --ref parameter), but i can test result in realtime, without restart miner. I`ve recieve ~+0.4 MH/card (rx480/580) with 10...15 value.

Claymore - best miner for me, for exammle, ethminer take +5 watt on Core (from 65W) with little low HR, but i`m change straps, overclock, underclock and downvolt with scripts, now tune memory. Change straps from miner for save some time with less control and understanding

HiveOs, SimpleMiningOs - just ubuntu based distros, which using tools and scripts, created by other peoples, but have nothing unique. It costs some money, i think only reason - their web interface, but i prefer email and telegram notification (easy create with scripts), remote management via ssh.
Thanks for info!
Important thing that AMT uses signed ASUS IO driver for it's needs. Claymore uses it's own driver without sign, and this require secure boot disable... Now I will try AMT with Claymore.

It's rather simple adjustment that I discovered a few days ago, so it's easy to clone it Smiley It works for old AMD cards too, so "-rxboost" option will also support old cards in next update.
The real magic is to apply straps on latest Nvidia (Turing), Nvidia protected these cards from such tricks, I have a solution for it too, but need some time to implement it properly before including into miner.
What rxboost actually doing?

It increases refresh interval: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_refresh
This setting is not included in AMD straps so you cannot change it with straps.
-rxboost 2-100 means 100 - max, 2 - min?

+ Support Aeternity mining on NiceHash

Really bad performance with 1080ti on nicehash, only 2,7 G/s with Simplemining OS

Haven't tried 1060, 170, 1070ti and 1660ti..
What speed on nicehash Aeternity on RX 580 cards?

I still doesn't understand why the same AMD RX 580 hynix MJR memory straps flashed to the vbios is more stable than applying them via -strap option...
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v14.5 (Windows/Linux) on: May 19, 2019, 07:01:00 PM
in version 12.0 my rx 580 8gb asus cards work stably at 1150/2200 and give out 30.5 mh in this version in the same way. but when I put the strap function then the farm just hangs. tell me what values are better to put on my cards? The cards have the original BIOS

Можно получить ускорение и без использования страпов майнера. Для этого просто добавь в строку запуска -rxboost 1.

Good! With 14.5b version and -rxboost option gives on 1 card +1,5% and on 2nd card +3,5%. Finally Claymore's miner became faster Phoenix with double kernels. Using my straps on RX 580 8G hynix MJR.
Excellent work!

It's need to find new best -dcri value or it stays the same as on 12.0 version?
EDIT: New -dcri values increased a bit speed!
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v14.5 (Windows/Linux) on: May 18, 2019, 08:08:48 PM
v14.5 Beta - Supercharged Edition:

- added "-rxboost" option for AMD Polaris cards, use "-rxboost 1" to improve hashrate by about 5% by applying some additional memory timings. You can use your own straps or use "-strap" option, you will get boost anyway.
   See Readme for additional information.
- fixed issue with overclock reset for Nvidia cards.
Thanx! Does -rxboost still need driver install?
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v14.4 (Windows/Linux) on: May 18, 2019, 05:49:52 PM
Can anyone confirm they have straps working on RX570/580 with Micron memory? POL8Mx. I have tried all 4 straps on 3 Micron memory cards and Claymore hangs each time it tries to apply strap. Works fine on Hynix memory cards (POL8Hx)
i tried but its mining with 31.2 mhs , with my own bios its mining at 32.7 mhs
It's because straps in miner not best )))
What speed on hynix cards you're recieve?
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v14.4 (Windows/Linux) on: May 18, 2019, 05:48:28 PM
v14.4 Beta:

- improved mining speed for Nvidia cards by about 1% (depends on card model). Note that dual mining for Nvidia cards suffers from this optimization, use old versions if you use dual mining on Nvidia cards.
- a bit reduced intensity of all Nvidia straps.
- added "-sintensity" option to adjust strap intensity for Nvidia cards, see Readme for details.

431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v14.0 (Windows/Linux) on: May 18, 2019, 06:41:44 AM
Tried on rig with rx 580 8G hynix memory... All straps up to 4 gives lower speed than my straps with the max 2250MHz MC. Best variant is 2nd strap on 2250MHz. But it still a bit lower than my strap.
Notices:
1. Often if strap set to 0 for use straps from vbios, miner at start can hang the system. But if didn't use -straps option miner always start fine. In vbios flashed eth straps.
2. Often miner hangs system on close if -straps option used.
3. If I use my manual strap (96 symbols) miner can hang on start, and everytime hang on close. But if these strap flashed to vbios and didn't used -straps option, miner works fine.

So, what about AMD hynix MJR 8Gb memory cards problems? And best -dcri settings depends on straps?
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v14.3 (Windows/Linux) on: May 17, 2019, 04:55:09 AM
Strap 3 seems to work best for Polaris ?
Depends on memory manufacturer. For hynix MJR 2nd strap is better.
and for samsung memory ? what straps do you think is best ?
I don't know. I checked only hynix 8Gb memory.

any update about linux version?the windows version works great but my rigs are almost linux.....
Just read last 2-3 pages of the thread and you'll find answer.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 4.2c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: May 15, 2019, 10:45:13 PM
Version 4.2c have full support AMD drivers up to 19.4.3.
Miner need update to support OpenCL from 19.5.1 driver.

Are there some big openCL changes in 19.5.1 that broke compatibility?

I don't see anything related in release notes:

https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-19-5-1

Who knows what AMD changed... But it's the fact, I checked. We need miner update if we want to use AMD 19.5.1+ driver...

If I update to the newest AMD driver. Will it affect GPU order 1,2,3,4,5,6 that I have today?
I think, no. But until you didn't try we can't know it exactly...

438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v14.1 (Windows/Linux) on: May 14, 2019, 06:12:41 PM
v14.1 Beta:

- "strap" option: added support for Vega cards, up to 15% speedup compared to stock BIOS. Use "-strap 1" ... "-strap 5" values and overclock memory to find the best hashrate.
- improved compatibility with AMD 18.x drivers.
- now miner uses CUDA10 runtime library for Nvidia.
- a few minor bug fixes and improvements.

is this just for vega56/64 cards?   i tried -strap 1 with vega VII and get a "memory timing not supported for this hardware" message.
Maybe your card is Radeon VII? In 14.1 added support for Vega's not for Radeon VII...

good lord, Claymore, I have rx480 8 gb samsung, using latest 14th ver and reaching only 28.8mh/s, any help to see those 33mh/s?

I use "-strap 1@2250" or even "-strap 3@2250" for these cards, read Readme for more details.

Hi Claymore what is the maximum strap number we can use? Above is 3, and I see in other of your posts 4.
Can we go beyond?

i have tested saphire rx480 8gb samsung with -strap 1@2250 and make 32.4 Mh but the only problem is that apears allot of GPU Memory Errors on HwiNfo
Claymore you don't have any errors with mcclock 2250 ?

Hello, my platforms are conformed by GPU rx580 8gb Hynix, and with this new Version 14 Beta although if I manage to reach 33 Mh / s with -strap 3 @ 2250 the memory errors are catastrophic. I have not seen any comment in particular from Old House. I would appreciate any comments from you that will make reference to these errors and if there is any improvement in the next version, thanks
What core clock you're use?
