941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.5.3 on: May 15, 2018, 05:09:01 PM
Hello ,
I bought a used RX580 nitro+ on ebay , it's a samsung memory , but the first owner flashed the bios. How I can recover the original bios to know the exact memory model in order to use a good strap?

thx in advance
Go to https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/
Find your stock bios if it's needed.
But bios can't change memory type. Just run GPU-Z and you'll see what memory your card have.

Interesting, that version 2.67 runs, but it didn't have Polaris support... Any version after 2.67 didn't runs on 1803 build.

Does it work on command prompt? cmd as admin?
cmd as admin. Not works.
943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ATIFlash/ATIWinFlash does NOT work on the latest/current Windows 10 update on: May 14, 2018, 06:21:03 PM
Is ATIWinFlash being ran as an Admin (right-click, Run as Admininstrator)? I don't currently have a way of testing this, so I'm attempting to help blind, so to speak.
Has anyone tried turning off Data Execution Prevention (DEP) and then running ATI WinFlash?
    Right-click on This PC.
    Choose Properties.
    Click Advanced system settings.
On the System Properties window, click the Advanced tab.
In the Performance section, click Settings.
Click the Data Execution Prevention tab.
Click to select the radio button next to Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only.
    Click OK.
Attempt to run ATIWinFlash as an Admin (right-click, Run as Administrator).

How about disabling (temporarily) Windows Defender and/or other Antivirus software you may have installed?
Tried to run as Admin and without him.
Tried compatibility modes.
DEP enabled only for essential Windows programs and services only.
Tried to disable AV.
Nothing helps.

Interesting, that version 2.67 runs, but it didn't have Polaris support... Any version after 2.67 didn't runs on 1803 build.

Better choices ?

Single ethereum is the best choise. Lower consumption, lower temperatures... Especcially at summer...

Please be more specific. What Windows? What cards? What drivers?
On my Windows 10 x64 Pro AMD 18.3.4 on RX 580 cvddc works. On 270X didn't work.

windows 10 X64
AMD 22.19.695   (blockchain driver)
rx 470

Use 18.3.4. driver with ati dirvers patcher.
946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ATIFlash/ATIWinFlash does NOT work on the latest/current Windows 10 update on: May 13, 2018, 04:13:12 PM
The only solution I found is to revert to the previous windows version. A lot of problems with the update.
Early or later we will use 1803 version. It's not a solution...
947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.5.2 on: May 13, 2018, 09:46:10 AM
@doktor83   I'm pretty sure that you are aware of all these occasions, I mean with the hashdrop.
Cards with 4gb memory dont have this issue, at least to me. They reach maximum hashspeed immediately.
The problem is with the 8gb cards.
Whenever I start your miner one of them, sometimes more, can go up to maximum, others no and they stay low all the time
even after 2,3,4 hours of mining.
Next time I'm starting your miner some other cards or card do the opposite thing. It's a random situation.
To help things out, you of course the developer of a great miner to me, I found out that running GPU-Z at the time your miner runs
and passing throu all cards one by one and then exiting, voula all cards running full speed. Problem solved.
But of course this is not a solution!!!
Maybe something with the interrupts?
I'm  trying to help!

I wanted to try this, and I got 1000 h/s across the board just by firing up GPU-Z.. Awesome. Wish I had known this earlier! The GPU-Z launch was unusually slow... Very strange! Whatever it is doing to the gpu's, SRB can do too, this gives me hope.

GPU-Z is 2.8.0, and I'm ignoring the update to 2.9.0 in case it works differently, lol.

Hi, could you please explain a bit detail about steps to achieve it? Did you run GPU-Z right before ran SRB? Or while you clicked start SRB Miner, you then ran GPU-Z? Thanks.

Gentlemen,
things are very simple.

You have started SRBminer waiting a while, 2-3 minutes, to report the first hashrate total and give it some time to reach the top hashspeed as doktor83 says.
Then you realize the drop on some or all of your cards.
Now it's the time to fire up GPU-Z as miner runs and uses all the resources of GPUs.
I'm passing throu all GPUs one by one and then exiting from GPU-Z. If you stay running it you'll realize that there's a small drop in hashrate on all cards.
This is normal because of the memory resource usage of the 2 programs.
The great thing is that GPU-Z motivates SRBminer to reach the highest it can get.
As a programmer, I'm suspecting something with the interrupts or the memory management of GPUs.
For some cards it may need to run it a second time or and a third one.
Keep in mind that all this has to do with the RX 480-580 8gb cards which of course I run them with 2 threads and intensity 54, worksize 8.
I reach on them from 1070 to 1148 h/s.

There is no problem at all with RX 570-580 4gb cards. These cards, of course with 1 thread - worksize 8 - intensity 60-61, reach maximum hashing speed at once.
I'm getting on these cards from 755 to 780 h/s.
Sorry, I've forgotten to mention that all these are on heavy algorithm

I'm glad to help the community!
and waiting for a better miner from Doktor83.

GPU-Z didn't use any GPU's resources. it just connects to GPUs and monitors them.

All this connected to low-level accessing to GPUs via AMD ADL or other low-level driver such as phymem or like this.
I noticed that effect about year ago. It happens on GGS miner too. And not only GPU-Z has the same effect ))). Some hardware monitoring tools can do that too. Like HWInfo, but not all versions. It's exists method even without any tools to do that, but only for GPU wich display connected to.

Must to notice that Claymore's miners never had that issue. His miners allways runs at max speeds. This another one proof that Claymore knows more than others on AMD GPU programming. Looks like he realy worked or works now for AMD.

Windows 10 1803. AtiFlash 2.77 didn't work. No errors at start. But in the event viewer it's error on driver that AtiFlash use for work.
It's atidgllk.sys
On latest 1803 this driver can't be loaded by AtiFlash.

My GPU used for display is a RX 570 with Samsung mem, at 1180 core 2130 mem it gets around 31,3MH/S reported, so GGS is not that far.

A tip on voltage changing for R9 270x.
You can change the voltage on an R9 270x with Afterburner, althought the manila version of AB will not let you do it there is a tweak (which I am using) to let you change the core voltage. https://rog.asus.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-81916.html

The image below shows the core voltage adjustment is not greyed out anymore.

I don't want to use AB. For RX 580 card I use miner's settings. For 270X I flashed voltage in bios.

Uncle, I hope that Zawawa doesn't spend his time  on improving Etash.

Even if he reach the same level, Claymore have DM with XVG & Keccak.
At pair with the two( well, Claymore is 1.5 dev fee and Phonex its .65 %) how many people will switch ?
I personally will not. I am not mining Etash besides Pirl ( that BTW its 0 % dev fee from Claymore) but I feel like the speed with Etash Ellesmere have reached a plafond. Vega mmmm.
Isn't much easier to beat an old sgminer on Lyra 2z ?
Or retake the CN crownd ? Or "virtually mod" a stock card ?

Aniway, I was not speaking of my wishes, I was just trying to make a recap of what Zawawa said previouslyhere /hint/publish on github.

Dual mining long time not effective allready. I didn't use them at least half year. Too much power consumtion, not much profit from 2nd algo. Higher temperature.
I use solo ethereum mining. It most profitable for me.
zawawa worked on optimization of GGS. It can give additional speed on eth, I hope...
953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [CPU] JCE Miner Cryptonight/forks, brand new, super fast! on: May 12, 2018, 12:10:51 PM
hi all !

json stak : yeah nice idea, a stak mode for json filled with dummy values when not exists, ok i'll go that way

Intense: maybe they forked, parameter --variation N should allow to force new fork. i'll try.
Alloy: as said in my previous post, adding Alloy fork is next planned feature. should be ready very soon
MarketCash: ok, but you can already mine it with parameter --any --variation N with N in 1-7 (find the N that works, there's a list in the Github page doc)

reconnect : parameter --forever is exactly what you need Wink

edit: Well, i'm not happy with that, but that's a pragmatic choice, I add a JSON mode which emulates 99% of data like Stak, including the shitty indentation and the useless data of biggest shares and ping. It was pretty easy to add to JCE netcode. However the 3 levels of hashrate will be the same, and the highest will be the instant hashrate. Except that, it should be compatible with stak.

next version on the way
* Marketcash coin: done
* Stak compatibility: done, will be parameter --stakjson
* Alloy fork: to do, will be parameter --variation 8
Please, don't forget to check intense coin.

So, we do expect:
a new installer
a new etash kernel (may be for Baffin ?) I saw something on github but I'm not sure
a new x16r kernel ?
a good for all memory timing split by memory vendor ?
a lira2z miner

in the upcoming release ?
I'm expecting when GGS can give good spped on eth mining. 30M speed is too slow, Claymore and Phoenix miners gives up to 32,5M speed on eth. With the same OC parameters GGS gives only 30,3M speed. It's too low.

Pool intense.hashvault.pro tried ports 80 and 443 (ssl). Coins Intense (ITNS). Allways poool rejects shares - low difficaulty share.
Maybe Intense have forked?
957  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.5.2 on: May 10, 2018, 11:15:56 PM

Try Claymore 11.3 with -h 460 and -dmem 1.
I tried it and I am getting the same performance
As i know new algorithm has lower hashrate on the same videocards, so it is weird that you have this result
Maybe because my card is 4Gb? Try to lower -h paramter step by 8. Try variants 452,444,436, etc. If speed will be lower, try to increase.

Anybody has radeon 270x? What is best value for intensity?
I have 270X 4Gb. On SRB old version (1.4.x) I can get max speed. On latest versions speed slower 5-10%.
Best speed I have got on my 270X 4Gb is on Claymore 11.3 fee-free with -h460 and -dmem 1 options. It's gives speed higher than max speed that SRB gives on 5-10 h/s.

and what about ggs? thats your favorite miner no?
For 580X cards now I use your SRB miner ))))
For 270X card I use Claymore 11.3.

I didn't have favorites. Just use miner that gives me max speed.

What's your hashrate in srb?
Mine is 370, and 355 on claymore 11.3.
But on old cryptonight protocol i had about 437 h/s without any overclocking.
P.S. 2GB version
I use overclock, undervolting amd manual bios modded. My speed is up to 550 h/s on Claymore 11.3 on cryptonightv7, the same as on old cryptonight algo.
cryptonightv7 must give the same speed as old cryptonight +/- 5 h/s. You must find right intensity.
Try Claymore 11.3 with -h 460 and -dmem 1.
