ANyone else still suffering from bad ATI drivers for RX cards? I'm getting Crazy
RX 580 cards works fine with ALL drivers up to latest 20.3.1.

Can you guys explain this to me.... Several times I've noticed miner is switching from DAG epoch 329 to 'Generating DAG epoch #0'. I have a mix of 1070, 1060 and 104-100 cards. My 1070 cards are doing 32+ MHs for a short time then miner is restarting with DAG epoch 329 and cards are doing about 27MHs. I understand it's slowing down with bigger DAG but what is DAG for epoch #0.

It's nicehash pool? If so - nicehash can switch on the fly between different eth forks, so it can change DAG's. DAG #0 - is one of this switches to some fork untill it give better profit.

Thanks. Yes it is nicehash. Is it just idling at that time or doing shares?
It's finds shares on any fork or DAG. Just not always have time till DAG changes back.

Hmmm, Sapphire and PowerColor gives only 2 years of warranty. MSI gives 3 years... Asus - don't know...
MSI refs 5700 too often with defects...
ASUS DUAL EVO without memory cooling at all...
I didn't know what 5700 card to buy )))) Maybe MSI Gaming...
i have good results with msi refs so far,Nice article over mem temps.
https://www.igorslab.de/en/gddr6-memory-temperatures-comprehensibly-explained-and-remeasured-is-amd-doing-everything-right-basics/
Thanks!
I decided to buy sapphire pulse. But didn't know XT or nonXT. I can buy almost the same price both... Maybe XT better cooling system? Advises?

It's strange, but I'm searched info's about memory temps of Sapphire Pulse 5700 XT and nonXT.
All reviews and tests where measured memory temp talks about 80C. Even in XT.
But many peoples who buy Pulse cards speaks about high memory temp - about 92-94+C. Some of them writes in Sapphire tech support and recieved answer that it's abnormal memory temperature and recommend to return card to shop cause of defect.
Very strange...
pulse 5700 non xt and xt different vram cooling solutions ,but also ım not sure xt pulse have good results.i'll buy refsdon't need to take risk.
According to micron max temp is 95 .

pulse non xt

Xt

Thanks for info... XT pulse looks much better )))

refs memory cooling way much better then others(evoke, pulse, mech, msi gaming tested)

Not sure where you’re getting your info on ref vs pulse cooling, but it’s completely opposite to everything I’ve seen.  Pulse has been demonstrated by numerous publications to have a far superior cooling solution vs the ref.

Maybe you’re just lumping it in with the shitty ASUS, msi, etc solutions...  this would be a mistake.

For $10 more than the ref, the cooler, quieter pulse appears to be the better buy.

EDIT: Here's Tech Jesus' take on the matter - the most respected voice on these things afaic:

https://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/3513-sapphire-rx-5700-pulse-review-non-xt-vs-red-dragon

Due to my own expreience.Took ss, left side pulse 92 mem temp, right side ref 5700 80 mem temp. i have many of them msi mech even worser 96 memory temp.İn pulse 5700 and 5700xt different memory cooler.

What about Power Color, f.e. Red Dragon?

Don't buy vega 56-64 , my vegas don't work even 850mv and consumption too much,(7 vgas 1380W from wall),my best findings are 5700nonxt ref. series.
Thanks for advise! Why 5700 nonxt, and why ref.?
Xt's more expensive ,not less chance to memory won't go over (900mhz,5700non xt's 950mhz)refs memory cooling way much better then others(evoke, pulse, mech, msi gaming tested)no idea nitro, strix and red devil(bu these are expensive already).
So you recommend to buy nonxt 5700 blower? Any manufacter?
Yep in memory hard algo's best pick to buy 5700 blowers.Doesn't matter manufacter, all same.just sticker different Smiley)
Thanks!

Does anybody mines eth with vega 56? What speed and power conpsumption it give?
Yes, ~50Mh
core ~1000 , mem ~950
check pbfarmer posts for amdmemorytweak settings.
What power it eat with 50MH?
approx 150w @wall
Hmm, not bad... In compare with RX580...
Thanks for info!

Whant to buy Sapphire Pulse vega 56 for about $350. I should do it?

Might want to look at the pulse 5700 xt instead for ~$410 (or maybe even pulse 5700 for $340?) - assuming you care about power costs / efficiency.  Nitro would be even better efficiency-wise, but price jump is significant - not sure it's worth it.

I'm not up to speed on the latest state of the drivers/miners for navi (other than TRM team still waiting on a proper toolchain,) but it seems 50+MH/s for the 5700xt is normal for 2/3 the power of a vega
Thanks! I looking on 5700xt, but prices is too high on them on my shops... All 5700xt starts from $450 for me...
Exists Asus vega 56 ROG-STRIX Gaming for $400.

Is is normal to have different hashrate for eth and etc? Nvidia gpus. Difference is about 2.5% more when mining ethereum. 4.8c version.

why there is a difference with the same config eth mining and etc 3% difference is nobody understands
Try to make autotune both on one and another. I think best -gt parameters will differ.
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 4.9b crash on: January 03, 2020, 06:40:23 AM
The crash seems completely random, anywhere from 3 to 10 min, most of the time the system will restart and the miner will run from autostart, but sometimes the miner just won't run even after the system restart. There are no error messages, I have checked all log files and everything just seem to be running normal than "CRASH", system restart. My rig was running without a hiccup for weeks on end somewhere before the 4.8 release, now it can't even stay on for more than 10 minute at a time.

 Angry Angry Angry
The size of DAG allways increase steps by 8Mb every time. And every time when it grows up it's need more vmemory.
And you must remember that all equipment wears. PSU, GPU chips, vmemory chips... All these equip can degradate with time cause to 24/7 work on close to 100% using.
Try to raise voltages on GPU's and mvddc a bit and check.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 4.8c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: January 02, 2020, 07:17:32 AM
I've tried 4.9b now with driver 19.12.3 and it says unknown openCL driver and hangs when mining about 15 seconds (totaly freeze, cut the power is the only solution)
Reverted back to 19.9.2 driver and it mines at about 20 minutes, then hang and reboots itself. About 0,3% better hashrate than 4.7c (cant use 4.8c at all)

No logging.

Hardware:
Motherboard: Asus B250 Mining Expert

Gpu's (in order in miner): RX470,RX470,RX580,RX580,Vii,RX470,RX470,RX470,RX580,RX470

Conf for cards:
-cclock 1240,1240,1250,1250,1830,1240,1240,1240,1220,1240
-mclock 2150,2150,2150,2150,1030,2150,2150,2150,2120,2150
-cvddc 930,890,890,930,970,890,930,900,950,900
-mvddc 935,900,910,930,950,900,930,900,950,900
-clKernel 1
-mi 14
-amd

-cdm 2

Is it something there that's not compatible with 4.9b?

Edit: over an hour now with 4.9b without issues. 19.9.2 driver, still can't use 19.12.3.
On RX 580 8Gb cards 4.9b works fine with 19.12.3 driver.
