Sorry for your loss. How much did you lose? Do you know how to mine or have a GPU?
From website alone it already seems like a shit/scam coin.

Don't know how to close the thread.
I just cancelled the order for AMD Vega 64
Found a 1080ti at a cheaper price point.
It may be slower but it'll have a better resale.
Thanks
You made the right choice. AMD Vega 64/56 hash rates are out. At 32-36mh, they dont even come close to the 1080ti because of power consumption. The vega's power consumption will eat up your profits.

I am going to have to write an article, because people seem worried about these "competitors".
Let me just do a quick summary, ok?
1. Filecoin does not exist and will not for 3 more frickin' years? Wow...have fun with that. 2. MaidSafe is trying to be too much at once. It is trying to do CPU sharing, storage sharing, and a few other things. The development is also ultra slow, and bogged down by office politics. 3. Storj is centralized, and basically dead. Filezilla integration was a last "hurrah". I looked at their code for that integration, it is not rocket science. All Sia needs is another Bounty for this integration and bam, suddenly in-your-face to thousands of employees and students.
Who else we have?
4. Shift - not a direct competitor. Interesting is they use IPFS, so this will allow for temporary, fast storage, but not better safety than Sia. I can see this actually complementing Sia.
I think that's it.
And Sia? Well it has everything going for it. 1. Proven technology 2. Agile development team 3. Strong community with great people to explain how things work 4. Truly decentralized 5. Network security in the coming months with Obelisk 6. Integrate-able with MANY services. Imagine if you see an integration for GitHub? Facebook? Google Drive? Holy...See you later, I'll be on Cloud 9 while the rest of these day traders are on Poloniex sweating their money away.
Exactly. Nice points you got there sir. Sia has really got it all when you come to think of it. Also, if its any consolation, I believe some of the team are from Harvard as well. Now all they need is time. Anyway, looking forward to your article. Congrats in advance to us sia hodlers!

Just wondering
Where did all the funds came from without any ICO or fundraising?
Anybody from Sigt expert/dev please answer these question we need to have enlightenment. Thanks in advance! Funds came from the first 1000 blocks which were instamined. Difficulty only kicked in at block ~1000, dev probably mined about 2.5M SIGT however it was spread across 1000 wallet addresses and has been transferred around into several wallets holding <100k each. Have a look in the block explorer at any block 1-1000 and then follow where that miner's funds went and you'll find a block where ~10 wallet addresses transfer their funds into another wallet (which can only be done using the same private key for all input addresses). Wow nice find indeed. Fair launch - no premine?Trust is lost. Devs lied. No future for this coin. The devs know they have no response for this that is why they left. Probably cashed out already thats why sigt dropped recently.

AMD did poorly on this one. They should have at least warned us that the 60-100 MH rumor is not real. I had a pair of 1080 tis come today they are doing fine bring in about 10 dollars a day. 5 each = 10 bucks.
What are you mining on those 1080tis that bring $5 each?

If you even need a guide on how to make your product not be called a scam, you shouldn't even have an altcoin anyway. Study, go to school, and learn how businesses and tech work. You have no business making a coin/business if you don't know the basics.

The price of SIA was not simply dumped. The surge in BTC value directly affected SIA.
Come to think of it, if you bought SIA at 400 sat last month you would still have almost the same amount in fiat as you have now because bitcoin price has almost doubled.
Just wait for things to stabilize. Siacoin is a good project that will surely rise as well.

I would go for the 1070 rig. When ETH disables POW mining, the 1060's card architecture will not allow you to mine certain algorithms which the 1070 can do.
Its future proof and you will spend less on electricity and other computer parts.

I'm running 6 gtx 1070's at 31mh each mining Ethereum -65 on core +595 on memory 70% power running 65-70 degrees 725watts for the entire rig
I would change from ethuream to Zcash. 2 dollar increase and NVidia does much better than what you are currently getting I too am mining ETH at around 31MH each with SIA dual mined at 500 MH. Whats your sols/h while mining Zcash? Just wanna double check with calculator. Considering switching soon.

Keep up the good work, great campaign you have here.

I've been following blockchain storage solutions and have found that SIA and STORJ are both good projects that can really disrupt online storage.
My question is why SIA value is so low (~250 sat as of writing) compared to STORJ (~25,000 sat as of writing) when they both can already store data on the blockchain? Am i missing something?

Your post isn't exactly clear. So do you actually have 200 bitcoins now or did you reject the offer and not buy any?
If you have 200 bitcoins now, congrats. You are made for life.

I'd go for whichever is cheapest at the moment. But more importantly, do you really want to start mining at this point in time? There is a possibility that ETH will switch to POS-mode meaning ETH mining will stop. This will not eliminate the mining profitability of your GPUs but it will definitely have a negative impact on your profit.

|
|
According to tech experts in our local community, they haven't encountered problems with failing GPUs used in mining for more than a year now. What they do is keep everything below 75c. 76 is not too far from 75 but who knows. That single degree drop in temp may help preserve or extend your GPU lifespan. Better to be safe and sorry.

Wow this is great. What this SIA ASIC actually means to me:
OBELISK ASIC = 3 MONTHS ROI = PROFIT $$$
However, with more of the coin will in circulation, what impact will this have on SIA price?
|
|
|
Contrary to what most believe (that ICOs cause ETH price dumping), ICOs actually help ETH gain exposure. More ICOs, whether good or bad, is still actually good for ETH. More people learn about ETH and validate why ETH is a great coin for smart contracts. Not all ICOs will dump their ETH. There will be always be some who will keep ICO tokens and this will mean more adoption and market cap for ETH. No doubt ETH value will continue to keep rising and will probably be more than $500++ by then end of this year.

The bear is gone, the decline is over. Good market movement with ETH has started. It should continue to scale with the price of bitcoin.
Speculation is we could actually see ETH back up to $500 or more by then end of 2017.
