1341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hacker tells Bitcoin creator, 'You are not safe. Get out.' on: August 09, 2017, 05:45:41 AM
Interesting read. Regardless of the date of original posting, i wonder if and how much of it is actually real. I doubt satoshi could actually get hacked as easy as that.

I wonder why satoshi would even be scared to show his true identity? What harm, aside from paparazzi, could come to him?
1342  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin rate on: August 09, 2017, 05:45:17 AM
As a general summary for those who have just started reading this thread:

More of the respondents say that YES, most would still buy bitcoin even at the current rate of $3300++.

Personally, i am a short term trader and cannot afford to keep my fiat in bitcoin for too long, so NO, i will not buy bitcoin at this price because i believe the short term outlook is "risky."
1343  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Billion dollar project on: August 09, 2017, 05:27:12 AM
I just started a billion dollar project on bitcoin in my country Nigeria, if you wanna know about it or partner with us you can reply this post or pm me thanks

Yeah sure. A billionaire who joins a signature campaign to earn some extra change for coffee..

Look i understand you are trying to work and make a living. Just make sure you do not do it at the expense of tricking/misleading other people.
1344  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to poloniex? on: August 09, 2017, 05:17:14 AM
Seems like a spammy thread. Anyway to answer the OP, you just need to buy low and sell high. Its the basic principle of trading. Poloniex is the same as any other stock trading market. You can get tips from actual trading experts and analysts but their experience may not apply to crypto trading. They say time goes 5x faster in crypto trading.
1345  Economy / Speculation / Will BTC price be dipping anytime soon? on: August 08, 2017, 03:40:31 AM
What are your thoughts on the past week's rally?
Are there analysts that predict this growth can really continue up to or above $4000?

1346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Monitoring WannaCry hackers' bitcoin addresses in real time on: August 06, 2017, 04:57:43 PM
Just reviewed these wannacry ransom addresses. It seems they have started cashing out, almost half the amount from each address.

Are there any updates? Is there anything being done to further track this?
1347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Can mining-specific GPUs be repurposed for gaming? on: August 06, 2017, 04:20:32 PM
I am looking to invest in some mining-specific GPUs. Specifically, zotac gp106-100s.

I know they don't have any display ports but i am curious if i can still use the GPUs for gaming if i connect to the mobo's onboard graphics port.
1348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Siacoin long? on: August 06, 2017, 04:15:20 PM
Newbie accounts spreading FUD about siacon.. Probably from siacoin competitors.

Anyway, siacoin is a great coin to hold right now. Contrary to what the FUDders have been saying, no devs would want the value of their coin to go down. Having a high siacoin price would mean the amount of siacoin needed to transact/pay-for-storage would be less.

Siacoin is down right now because of the surge in bitcoin price, as all other altcoins are. It will surely go up once bitcoin price stabilizes.

Siacoin has the potential to bring you exponential returns because its value is down at the moment. The devs of siacoin are active and constantly developing the coin, check out their blog at sia.tech. Its up to you if you want to pass this opportunity up. Good luck.

Siacoin is a great investment in 2017.
1349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts for Bitcoin in 2017? on: August 06, 2017, 03:50:34 PM
With all the positive thoughts on bitcoin in this thread i am very much tempted to invest more and more into bitcoin. I really do believe its threads like this and sentiment on reddit that help boost the price of bitcoin. Congrats HODLers!
1350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.8 (Windows/Linux) on: August 06, 2017, 09:16:34 AM
Would anyone know if and how it is possible to have 1 instance (1 console) of claymore miner mining with multiple cards to multiple addresses?

For example i want GPU#1 to mine to my personal address while GPU#2 mine to address of my neighbor.

Even existing it would be much easier and more practical to have 2 instances. So why to bother? The only thing you would accomplish is, in a crash, both will stop.

I see your point. But i ask because one of my extra rigs only has 2GB of RAM (trying to cut on costs and will not purchase another 2GB RAM). Its runs fine with 1 instance but it starts crashing with another instance open.

1352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers have stolen my money on: August 05, 2017, 11:12:57 PM
Damn. How much BTC did you lose? Video is down now but im curious as to what was in it.

There should really be an international bitcoin security group that cracks down on these addresses. Maybe I should start a company..
1353  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin End World Poverty? on: August 04, 2017, 05:29:16 AM
Financial literacy is one aspect you should look into when it comes to bitcoin and poverty. However, blockchain tech itself and not bitcoin may be more applicable in the development sector. Hopefully we will see more scholarly articles on this topic soon.
1354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash: The New Bitcoin on: August 04, 2017, 04:59:01 AM
Bitcoin Cash is driven by greed. Backed by Bitmain and Jihan Wu, bitcoin cash is speculated as their attempt to gain control of the bitcoin network. I would never trust in bitcoin cash. 8MB is a front. All they want is control and profit.
1355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining, how long and how many? on: August 04, 2017, 03:49:00 AM
GPUs mine altcoins like ETH. You can trade altcoins to get BTC.

With a 7 GPU (GTX 1060) mining rig hashing at around 140MH for ETH (~1.25 ETH monthly), it will take you around 10 months to gain 1 BTC worth of ETH. This is based on rates as of writing.

Good day, im just want to know if they have miner for android mobile phone ?
Thanks.

You will kill your phone by mining on it. But if you want to, there is "MinerGate" for mobile.
1356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex to credit BCH = BTC (Based on fork time) on: August 04, 2017, 03:08:10 AM
It doesn't really make sense:

1. We will be crediting users who had BTC in their account balance at the time of the fork with matching BCH.
2. We have not yet determined if we will be listing BCH as a market on Poloniex nor can we commit to supporting BCH withdrawals right away.

If I get BCH but can't trade it (on a trading platform..) and can't withdraw it (on a trading platform..) then what can I do with my BCH?

BCH withdrawals "right away"
"right away"
"right away"
"right away"
"right away"
"right away"

I think what he is trying to point out is that it is poor planning on poloniex's end to release something that has no purpose. A better move on poloniex's part to keep things simple would be to only release BCH when they are actually really ready to have it traded/withdrawn.
1357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining rig cooling solutions on: August 04, 2017, 01:26:07 AM
Air conditioning is always the best way to go. But actually the only really essential thing you need to do is undervolt.
Undervolting effectively cools down your GPUs without much impact to hashrate.
1358  Economy / Services / Re: Earn Money With Steemit Community! on: August 03, 2017, 01:42:19 AM
Great idea. A steemit group that helps each other earn money. Count me in mate.

Followed! My name is not exactly the same in steemit. Do you automatically follow back?
1359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin cash needs miners BCH on: August 03, 2017, 01:29:14 AM
the only thing for sure is that a lot of exchanges stole a lot of BCH from accounts.

This. Bit off topic but yeah its easy to see that the quality of the exchange by their decision to distribute BCH. Its technically easy AF. *ehem POLONIEX fing cheaters ehem*
1360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex down on: August 03, 2017, 01:17:30 AM
Poloniex is down again at the time of this writing. So sad this is happening. I wonder where they spend all the trading fees they take from us.
