1122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All coins are now dying, what do you think? on: October 15, 2017, 11:54:10 PM
Well that escalated quickly.

Altcoins are not dying. They are on a decline because of the steep rise in price of bitcoin. Sure enough, once the bitcoin hype ends, its value will crash and altcoin prices should stabilize. Remeber you only lose when you sell. Just hodl.
1123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can you please help me in deciding on powered GPU riser. on: October 15, 2017, 12:59:17 PM
There is no differences between vendor 1 and 2 : my advice is for those with the higher revision PCB number.
Vendor 1 and vendor 2 : the riser has a 6 pins PCIe connector : this is the original one for all the GPUs, even the most powerfull, it is the best solution if you connect it directly to your PSU, without adaptors.

Hi CarlOrff,

Thank you for the response.

Please let me know how to know that higher revision PCB number.

Also please let me know how to connect it (what does it means?) directly to PSU without adapters?

Can you please share some diagram/layout. I never did this sort of connection before.

Thanks again.

Regards,

Rizwan

PCB number is similar to a version build number and it is written at the top of your riser.

I've checked it for you and it seems that the riser from better one has an later PCB number and is possibly better.

Vendor 1: PCE164-NO7
Vendor 2: PCE164-NO3

Although in reality, they should not make much difference.
1124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX1070 RIG crash on ZEC mining but work on dual ETH+DCR mining, why ? on: October 15, 2017, 12:42:41 PM
You have to remember that ZEC and ETH run different algorithms and as such have different resource requirements from your GPUs.

Have you updated your overclock settings?

On ETH, Memory clock is important while Core clock is useless.
On ZEC, Memory clock is useless while Core clock is important.

Power consumption is said to be higher on dual mining ETH.
1125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are you mining any CPU mineable coins? on: October 15, 2017, 12:16:24 PM
I used to mine Monero on my macbook pro, it did about 80 H/s. However, i learned the hardway that mining really isn't meant for CPUs. Profit margin was really low and the risk of ruining your laptop's CPU is way too high (because of the heat and all). That being said, mining on a desktop CPU is only slightly better. Some CPUs like ITXs are really bad when used for mining too. Always consider your CPU's conditions and if it can take the stress and heat of mining.
1126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: onG Social Media!! The Next Facebook? on: October 14, 2017, 11:24:13 AM
After around a year or two of explaining what facebook is and how safe it is, i finally got my parents to sign up. I find it very hard to convince them to use some new social media decentralized platform that just came out.

This is the first time i ever heard of this ongcoin. The idea is good and real world use is there however they have not done much of a good job marketing this platform, especially if they intend on competing with facebook. Marketing is key.
1127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Gold on: October 14, 2017, 10:11:43 AM
As an alternative to Claymore's Zcash miner, you could always go with the EWBF miner.

Personally, I love that you can customize about almost anything and everything with Claymore's miner (be it dual ETH or Zcash). However, if you're new to mining and just want to get started as quickly as possible without thinking much about overhead configuration, I suggest you just use EWBF first. 1128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Electrical Fire! on: October 13, 2017, 10:17:40 AM
scary, yeah im moving all my miners to the garage this fall, had some close calls with risers and cards exploding

Home mining with many rigs is just too risky

Cards exploding..? Really? Care to share your story..?

Anyway sorry for the OP. It was very nice of your electric company to come to your home even at 10 PM in the evening.
Are you paying a premium on your electricity rates? Our local provider here doesn't give a shit about its customers because they have everything monopolized lol. $0.2/kwh. Good thing I offset with solar Smiley
1129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Open box Biostar TB250 mobo BTC edition for $50 on Newegg no rebate on: October 13, 2017, 10:13:50 AM
And just like that the motherboard was SOLD!

Too bad, that was a good deal. I've been using the same for my rigs for 2 months now and i've had no issues at all. 12-GPU awesomeness and everything is just plug and play (and set mining mode in BIOS). It works well with AMD, NVIDIA, or even a mixed AMD-NVIDIA rig.

Thanks for posting anyway and congrats to the buyer.
1130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin on: October 13, 2017, 09:51:05 AM
Hey guys, very new here so if this is not the right board please redirect me.

if you look at the charts of litecoin, it has had the same trend for the last couple of months. It pumps up then drops all the way down to the support line, it is at the support line now, would it be a good time to buy litecoin ?

I wouldn't trust Litecoin or any altcoin charts or trends right now. Everything has been thrown into a mess because of the bitcoin price surge that makes it hard to do any technical analysis. Personally, i suggest you just get on the Bitcoin pump train until the Bitcoin Gold "dividend" is recorded (oct. 25). After that date, many speculate that money will be pour back into altcoins.
1131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can you please help me in deciding on powered GPU riser. on: October 13, 2017, 06:55:59 AM
Those are the same SATA to 6-pin PCIE connectors. Vendor #1 and #2 have no difference.

SATA is the longer connector while 6-pin is the one with six squares.
You connect the 6-pin to the riser and connect the SATA to your PSU.

Both are good anyway because powering your risers with 6-pin PCIE has shown to be better than using SATA adapters.
1132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins Plunging on: October 13, 2017, 06:20:26 AM
Just remember this, Bitcoin increasing is great for altcoins. A bunch of money pours into BTC, then once the price settles, people reallocate that money to altcoins. Rarely do people cash out of BTC and then pull money out of crypto forever. It seems that once money is in crypto, it stays there or at least if it leaves, it's temporary.

TLDR: Money will pour back into altcoins after this BTC pump.
1133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Byzantyum HF on: October 13, 2017, 06:01:06 AM
As of date and time of posting,

1. No, you will not get two sets of coins because the old version of ethereum will be abandoned. Nobody seems to be serious about maintaining and mining the older coin. All exchanges will upgrade and only recognize the new coin.

2. Yes, your ETH should be safe on an exchange as long as they upgrade. But to be safe, make sure you keep it somewhere where you have access to the private key.
1134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum (ETH) mining profit formula on: October 13, 2017, 05:58:20 AM

Made me lol. You could at least acknowledge the OP's efforts haha. But yeah, as a miner knowing the numerous number of online profit calculators should have been part of your initial research.

Allow me to add the some calculators i use as well:

1135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BTCZ] BitcoinZ on: October 13, 2017, 12:34:46 AM
Great job on getting listed guys. Just would like to clarify:

Website: https://www.bitcoinz.site/ (by mtx_demon)
Help to improve website, send your pull requests:
https://github.com/bitcoinz-site-pod/bitcoinz-website

I was about to contribute to website design but it appears that the design currently displayed on bitcoinz.site is different from what is on the github page.
I believe the github version looks better, are there plans for this to be deployed to bitcoinz.site?

I'd just like to know what version I should be helping enhance. I will do some CSS and copywriting.
1136  Economy / Services / Re: [FREE] ★★★★ Signature Campaign Management Bot ★★★★ on: October 11, 2017, 05:51:52 PM
Um yes i believe DOM is a very basic concept in web dev.

Do you actually have working code to check if the BB code signature matches the bitcointalk's html output?

Or is all this just sample html?
1137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BTCZ] BitcoinZ on: October 11, 2017, 06:59:32 AM
Can we dual mine using claymore ?

Yes, i'm currently using claymore on 12x RX580 GPU's

Care to share how to dual mine this with Claymore?
Am i correct to assume you mean claymore's dual ETH miner?

Currently i only see -dcoin options for dcr, sia, lbc, etc. but no btcz. When i change the pool address i to btcz anyway, i get errors like:
"n2size not detected" or "cant establish handshake blabla"
1138  Economy / Services / Re: [FREE] ★★★★ Signature Campaign Management Bot ★★★★ on: October 10, 2017, 02:11:52 PM
You can place the BBCode into bot, parse it into html and then have your bot see if the html matches.

Yes exactly. My problem is the BB code in this forum is parsed very differently (e.g.
is converted to <span style="text-align:center"> instead of just <center>). I've been building a custom parser and have completed most of the custom conversions but I can't seem to find out where and why this forum generates extra html such as:

Code:
"           "

Some break lines have it, while some don't. Its weird. Have you come across those?
1139  Economy / Services / Re: [FREE] ★★★★ Signature Campaign Management Bot ★★★★ on: October 10, 2017, 01:21:17 PM
You don't need to parse BB code, you know how each signature will be rendered.

How do you know how each signature will be rendered in the forum?

Do campaign managers 1) wear the signature, 2) get the html output code, then 3) paste it on your system?

Wouldn't it be simpler for them to 1) place the bbcode and let the system do the rest?
1140  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex manipulation? on: October 10, 2017, 01:15:24 PM
Nobody is manipulating Bittrex dude. It happens whenever multiple users dump their coins together. It is a known fact that altcoins will be dumped since the fork is near and people are selling their altcoins in losses to acquire the free Bitcoin gold. It happened during the last fork too when altcoins were dumped to acquire free BCH. So nobody is manipulating Bittrex, its just the people who are dumping their altcoins.

Allow me to quote the article for you:

"
Argument: People are moving alts to BTC

This is mainly false. Though it is true, it didn’t happen at the scale that matches with the volumes moved from alts to BTC across any other exchange. This wasn’t a market-wide movement like we saw with BIP91 activity between June and July.
"
So you are saying that there is something that is making Bitcoin's price increase more than it actually should or may be you could also say that altcoins are dumping more than they actually should. In this case a person with good mathematics can figure out whether it is actually true by calculating how much alts were dumped and how much btc were raised. If there is a difference then what you said might be true.

Bitcoin is not in question here, bittrex is. Mathematicians and analysts did calculate, look at the charts.

I suggest you stop post spamming and actually read the article. If you have nothing intelligent to add to the discussion then just leave. Im done with you.
