BCH was dead until Segwit2X died...now it's a thing again.

Until January when Coinbase releases peoples' BCH to the millions of users that like free money.

Momentum / trend of price might be interesting if this will happen in Jan - if Bitcoin Core has peaked and BCH comes up, they all could adding on BCH.

When you come to bitcoin, there's an awful lot to learn.
One of the very first things for non-native speakers of the language is English.
But you're being much too arrogant to bother with that.
Haven't you ever wondered why you get so little traction?
It's not just that some of your ideas are unsound, but your communication skills are lacking too.

The good thing about the WO thread is that the English language writing skills of most of us are generally above average. The other threads are sometimes unreadable. I've stopped reading other threads, it's straight to WO for me. Updated info, a great mood, and readable posts.

The last 45 minutes remind me of our nice Carolina days...

Go BTC go!

@JihanWu
All Bitcoin Cash fans should be brave to tell the truth to the world and friends, when dragon's den coordinated another social engineering attack

Dafuq is this bullshit! The old switcharoo....You and Verr should see a jail cell in the future, pair of greedy thieving bastards, stole bitcoin brand name... Stole users money. It's coming, you'll pay for what happened this weekend
I just can't stop laughing. How many people actually believe his narrative?

Actual people? Not many I guess.
Is there any realistic chance of them getting prosecuted? I realize that crypto is completely unregulated, but what these people are doing out in the open is quite absurd. Not that it personally affects me in any way, but I sure would love seeing some justice served with a side of rice. Would be a great ending for this story.

No need. The ultimate grand victory of Bitcoin over BCH will serve as their painful lesson. It's worse than killing them.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT
COMMUNIQUÉ OFFICIE

Have you all read this sh*t? If you haven't, just read it. All of it. I don't think there's more to be said about this "coin"... I know the "enemy" has power, but I expected them to be better than this load of cr@p contained in this "Letter from the CEO"... Wow, we have a CEO now!

Just imagine Satoshi Nakamoto dumping his 1,000,000 BCH all at once. BCH would go negative...

But... He's either dead, or Craig Wright...

I love how these idiots politely waved a white flag re their S2X garbage then immediately attacked with their junky BitCH coin.

Duplicitous and treacherous fucks they are to be sure.

Exactly this! Let me find the text... Here it is:

Quote
The Segwit2x effort began in May with a simple purpose:  to increase the blocksize and improve Bitcoin scalability. At the time, the Bitcoin community was in crisis after nearly 3 years of heavy debate, and consensus for Segwit seemed like a distant mirage with only 30% support among miners. Segwit2x found its first success in August, as it broke the deadlock and quickly led to Segwit’s successful activation. Since that time, the team shifted its efforts to phase two of the project - a 2MB blocksize increase.

Our goal has always been a smooth upgrade for Bitcoin.  Although we strongly believe in the need for a larger blocksize, there is something we believe is even more important: keeping the community together. Unfortunately, it is clear that we have not built sufficient consensus for a clean blocksize upgrade at this time. Continuing on the current path could divide the community and be a setback to Bitcoin’s growth. This was never the goal of Segwit2x.

As fees rise on the blockchain, we believe it will eventually become obvious that on-chain capacity increases are necessary. When that happens, we hope the community will come together and find a solution, possibly with a blocksize increase. Until then, we are suspending our plans for the upcoming 2MB upgrade.

We want to thank everyone that contributed constructively to Segwit2x, whether you were in favor or against. Your efforts are what makes Bitcoin great. Bitcoin remains the greatest form of money mankind has ever seen, and we remain dedicated to protecting and fostering its growth worldwide.

Mike Belshe, Wences Casares, Jihan Wu, Jeff Garzik, Peter Smith and Erik Voorhees

Such hypocrites... Keeping the community together... Yeah, right! You f*ckers!

You can tell it's an orchestrated attack on Bitcoin, by looking at the charts. Like staircases...

I don't fear about Bitcoin, it will recover, and soon. I just made the wrong move and bought some at the top, but that's OK, we're heading there soon, so no worries.

CAROLINA coming soon!!!

Jimbo not selling bcash wasn't so daft after all.

He's got the magic stick. I knew it! God help me, I knew it.

Core need to come out fighting instead of shrugging their shoulders in the corner

Problem is, you don't need brains to fight that war, you need lots of coins...

No need to panic. This is good for Bitcoin (the real one -- BTC). Let them pump all they have on their AltCash. When you have cancer you either sit and wait for your death, or you take the knife and cut it out. You will bleed, but you'll survive. Let's cut it out and move on.

Has anyone done the maths on how much more ammo this animal can possibly have left?

Not much, I hope. It's Sunday. Come Monday, things should start looking the other way around. This is a big opportunity to buy cheap BTC and strengthen Bitcoin even more. Things should turn around. And soon.

this is a pr disaster. some kids on reddit heard BCH is the real BTC and lost all their cash coins in a Bitcoin address.
but which will be the real fake bitcoin?

@JihanWu

There is more and more threatening that BCH's hard fork upgrade will have spin-off(s) by some parties. It is said that they will creat "BCH Classic". I think exchanges should be prepared and not losing spin-off coins. Your customers may want to sell it(them) to have more BCH.

ForkClassic this is great Cool weee

Good God! Are they going to give birth to a new coin every time they want to do a software upgrade? What's next? Monetizing testnet coins too?  Huh

Maybe trying to lure people into buying BCH so they can have free new coins after the upcoming BCH fork...

What a forcking mess! Shocked

I don't think the idea that's circulating lately, of BTC being a store of value (like gold) and BCH a coin for everyday use (like cash) makes sense. It doesn't make any sense, because, in that case, there's no point for BTC to exist, since BCH can technically be a store of value too. Why have two blockchains for two different types of usage, when one (BCH) can do both?

It's not about usage, but about control. Sad, but true. Human nature at its "finest". One thing's certain: if BTC comes out as the winner in this war, it will be stronger than ever. If not, we'll never see crypto in the same way again.

Just woke up to see that the Euro-land ATH was broken last night, and has now become 3870 €/BTC. And it looks like it's going to be broken again very soon!

I'm reading all the posts about how BCH is dead, etc. Well, it may be so, but I've decided to hold it for a while longer and see how things play out. My way of thinking is this:

If I sell my BCH for BTC:

- My BTC holdings increase by around 12% (with current prices) = Insignificant gain.
- If BTC plummets and BCH gets a major boost = Significant loss.

If I keep my BCH:

- My BTC holdings stay the same = No gain.
- If BTC plummets and BCH gets a major boost = Significant gain and insurance against the unexpected.

So, HoDLing my BCH allows me to sleep peacefully at night, knowing I'm safe whatever happens. As much as I dislike Jihan Wu, Roger Ver, and all the rest of them, I don't want to underestimate their power. Better safe than sorry.

I guess I should have taken my own advice... Embarrassed
