Bcash... What a forking mess...

I'm glad I stayed clear of this shitcoin (and its cancerous byproducts)...

BTC has dropped a lot, yes. But even now, my net gain is far beyond my wildest dreams, as I'm sure is the case with most true HoDLers. Just imagine what will happen when Carolina wakes up and the Choo-Choo starts moving again... And it will.

Keep HoDLing, keep your keys secured, and lose those (BTC) keyrings, you don't want anyone to know what you own (remember the $5 wrench method)!

"Craig Wright says he has an exploit to take down Bitcoin (BTC) by end of 2019. Does he? Or all talk?"

https://youtu.be/4TOnHAlI_Vg

WTF? I hope it's just Craig Wright talking out of his ass...

It's the calm before the pump...

We'll soon be in 5 digits and rising...

Hell, I even think I'll win mic's game...

@xhomerx10: If it's not too much trouble, I'd really like a hat of this pic. You may cut and crop and do what you must to make it look awesome. Will be worn with pride once we hit 5 digits!

I bet they sleep with their ties on...
Damn...

Anyone noticed that HAT is an anagram for ATH?

Bullish! Wink

Hi mic!
Thx for the game!

Carolina says... 1 BTC = $12345
2610  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 20, 2018, 05:32:10 AM
Carolina definitely needs a hat much like xhomerx10 needs a beer Wink

 Avatar-sized

Awesome! Already wearing it with pride.

On me.

I think the CCMF Carolina Coiner deserves a hat too!

Cheers!

Not only is that the wrong bond angle for water, how does it relate to bitcoin? Just curious.

Spaceman_Spiff_Original explained it nicely (thanks SSO, would merit if I had any). I just thought it would be cool to keep the alcohol molecular structure, but replace the carbon atoms with BTC...

[...]

The choice of the Bitcoin camp is to move mass tx *off* chain.  And segwit allowed that.  The Choice of the BitcoinCash crowd is to have every transaction permanently recorded on the main chain.  I think the layer-2 way is right, and therefore I am glad to see hundreds or thousands of tx/sec to move OFF the blockchain.

Exactly! I just can't imagine my daily morning coffee and other petty, insignificant purchases being permanently recorded on-chain, and having to be copied to millions of devices on the network and preserved ad-infinitum... This would soon result in a monstrously large blockchain that contained mostly worthless junk. It just seems so pointless and a great waste of resources.

Logic dictates that, as Bitcoin grows and adoption increases, the blockchain should tend to contain mostly transactions of non-trivial value, that are either transfers of non-trivial amounts of value/wealth, or aggregates of smaller transactions coming from one or more off-chain layers, such as the Lightning Network. Such "layered" approaches are already being successfully utilized in several computer science concepts that are being used by you and me everyday. Computer networking is one of them.

Regardless of what each of us support, the Bitcoin ecosystem will find its way, and, almost by definition, will move towards the optimal solution to the scaling problem. "Vires in numeris." Nothing to worry about. Just HoDL and enjoy the show.

Wow, I found the WO thread way down the Speculation page. That's so rare...

Speaking of BCH (a.k.a. Bcash LOL), the 5-minute chart looks weird. Like a normal chart after being fired at with a bunch of AK-47s... Not many transactions/activity happening it seems.

Reminds me of Stephen King's  "Desperation"... And of this:

His dick has nothing to worry about. Will be fine and functional, as will all who HoDL.

Bitcoin or not, the smartest guys always win! That's life.

The rest just sell cheap coins to them...  Wink

IOW: HoDL!

Epic!

Would send merit, but I don't have any...

I'm getting my Carolinas ready for the big pump that will surely come (and soon, I hope).

@mic: Keep it up my friend, we enjoy your posts and your doggie and your pics. Don't let the WO purists discourage you.
2618  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 10, 2018, 04:39:54 PM
Absolutely cause anybody that sell his or her holding in other not to loose because of the dump in price of the market such person person is already loosing. How ever, this remind of Papa Laszlo the man who bought 2 pizza with 10,000 bitcoin back in the year 2010 and I knew he will surely regret doing that now. Guys don't sell your bitcoin now if it not for an important or urgent situation so you won't regret it.

He was the first GPU miner. He'll have tens of thousands more coins.

No  he has no coins left. He sold his remaining coins for next to nothing and didn't buy back. He must hate every bitcoin pizza day.

Sadly the buy who was paid those bitcoins sold them for a few hundred dollars which he used to pay for a holiday.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-pizza-guy-laszlo-hanyecz-on-why-bitcoin-is-still-the-only-flavor-of-crypto-for-him

Quote
Jercos – the man who earned 10,000 BTC by selling two pizzas

Cointelegraph also had the chance to speak with Jeremy Sturdivant, also known as Jercos, who participated in the original Bitcoin pizza deal as the recipient of those 10,000 BTC that he turned into two pizzas. Sturdivant, who told CT that he turned Hanyecz’s BTC into fiat for a trip when they were worth a couple of hundred dollars,

Lesson learned:

HoDL!

Meanwhile my German bank just e-mailed me saying for "security reasons" they cannot let me transfer any funds out of the country from my bank account. That I have to come in personally to un-block my account. I live in French Polynesia and have no plans whatsoever of ever returning to Germany.

You could transfer your fiat to Fidor Bank (a German bank used by Kraken for deposits).

Check it out on Kraken's site.
