It's a good alternative. Dollar will always stay. I hope Bitcoin will come even good known as the dollar and the euro. If everybody found his way to the BTC, the future looks good.
Maybe for the next few decades Fiat currencies will stay intact, but in future it will be cryptocurrencies .I don't know will it be bitcoin or not, but cryptocurrency is the future.

I don't think that bitcoins can replace Dollars, as Dollars are widely accepted and most trusted currency and people have more faith in dollars as compared to bitcoins, but yes if the adoption of bitcoins reaches to the peak then anything is possible in the future, but at present I don't think bitcoins can replace any major currency.

No, I see 2 different currencies between the dollar and bitcoin

It's like if you were to say "Do you think the Euro will replace the Dollar soon?

Anyone seeing that happen?
However when gaining mass adoption, wouldn't we see no point in having fiat currency anymore? You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand that fiat monetary system is doing more harm than good.
That is most likely not happening any time soon however I can see this happening. Maybe even in our lifetimes.
USB is right... fiat is only causing harm to the world.. it won't be long before something (hopefully bitcoin) takes its place and abolishes it forever.

Of course, if Bitcoin manages to replace the dollar, it will become a global currency.
It will be one of the strongest reserve currencies in the world, since its rise has been driven by people all over the world, and not any particular government.

If in the future happens that Bitcoin will be a global currency, than I am just wondering how the world will turn on?

What will happend to the banks? At all of that.

Exactly. Bitcoin is just going through a lot of issues right now (block size, TPS, etc) and I think that it still needs to be perfected in order to really replace the Dollar. Still, anything is possible and if Bitcoin ever reaches mainstream use, I'm pretty sure it might replace it. Soon fiat currencies would become obsolete and the new generation of money would be crypto currencies. Just my opinion.  Roll Eyes

Lol thats the funniest thing i've read today. What are "dubai rich people" going to do? the only reason they are rich is they were lucky to be born with oil sitting on their ass, that's all. Those guys aren't inventing anything new and groundbreaking, let alone anything that would ever compete against Bitcoin's supremacy.

Supporting bitcoin and having a positive mentality towards is what we all need to do but at the same time we cannot ignore the reality, and the reality is that bitcoin can never replace dollar, bitcoin will be more popular in future for sure but it will replace any major currency, I doubt.

Will Bitcoin replace the global reserve currency soon?
I think the market cap ($ 5,260,848,667) is not anywhere near that of a global reserve currency ($1,000,000,000,000 ). It's about 0.5% of the dollar market cap. That is a lot of money but not near replacing. Do I make a logical fallacy?  Huh

It will take a long time dude, not so easy to replace currency like dollar, as dollar is treated as the king of all currencies and getting replaced by a crypto is something unimaginable but if the bitcoin gets on mainstream then it would go parallel to dollar but it cannot replace dollar for sure.

i really dont think it will, the dollar is just so much convenient to use. plus the dollar commodity in cash is extremely fast to transact with 0 fees.
