i really dont think it will, the dollar is just so much convenient to use. plus the dollar commodity in cash is extremely fast to transact with 0 fees.
Yes difficult to compare bitcoins with dollars as both of them their have their own advantages and also would prefer to choose either which would be more convenient for them and the users of dollar are high and it is widely accepted currency so it's difficult to see that bitcoins replace dollars very soon.

Yes, I think it will definite replace dollar in the future!
It dpends on the development of bitcoin. If there are community support and bitcoin evolves over time, it will replace dollar eventually.

I don't think so. But i hope it's gonna be as important as the dollar. A value as the euro, the dollar, ... should be good.

no, never.. bitcoin is a currency and can be changeable on exchange offices. and maybe usable on special global shops. think about that; you have a mexican pesos u can not use it in india, your exchange procedure is clear. u must change it on exchange offices. if it can be success, u can use btc on shops, coffee houses, malls. and it sounds great. but btc price is not stable and i dont believe it never be stable. and in this situation also buyers or sellers one of them must be loose money

till 16th century Gold was used for buying things, There was no economic crisis in those period. Only after introduction of Fiat currency we saw so many economic crisis. Wish we have a globalised digital currency in future.

Well don't forget the use of mobile phones etc. The need for paper money is dissapearing. So I think in time (10 years) we will not need paper money. Looking at all alternatives, crypto has the no.1 potential.

Not this year are the coming years. The dollar is on it's way back, but bitcoin needs a lot of new features/innovation/products before it can compete with a A+ currency.

It really ain't easy for Bitcoins to replace Dollars, as people currently ain't giving the respect BTC needs in order for it to be used like a currency all over the world... BTC NEEDS MAINSTREAM TO BE USED AS A GLOBAL CURRENCY...

I don't think Governments are giving control away by allowing BTC to be Currency No. 1. It sure will be more established and more used (At least thats what i hope)..

Yeah that is true that is very difficult. As long some one have a power than I think bitcoin won't be the number 1 currency, but who know maybe it will/

You need to wait dude, everyone waited for these moments to happen in their lives... Bitcoins are still in developing mode, and as soon as it becomes mainstream, then we may say that it can actually replace any currency soon...

I don't think that it will replace the dollar soon, but in the long run I believe that the bitcoin is going to be more valuable. Why? Because the whole world can use it, it has intrinsic value, it can be broken down into tiny bits and used for microtransactions, and the world bank doesn't control it. I think within 50 years we see the USD fall, but before that we will see much more war as countries martingale to try to recover losses.

15 years to replace dollars is too early, but if GCC countries stops accepting dollars for petrol then it can be achieved less than 15 years. But I dont think it will happen any sooner
