why not if all people can acces internet, and all people have smartphone, i think bitcoin can replace dollar

If this will be the case what currency will be used to know how much a value of 1 bitcoin is? Will it be EURO,Yen,Peso? That is like saying that we should also be colonized by them. |

Bitcoin will replace Dollar when it comes to Online transaction, But if physical it will never happens, Bitcoin will be the primary currency when online transaction. I think bitcoin transaction will replace paypal transaction when the future comes.

Yeah, bitcoin is for digital currency and use for online transactions, but the dollar is for physical transactions. And that's never going to happen. It will just depend for the US government if they will allow bitcoins to change their currency. |

it can't replace dollar but still bitcoin will be traded on the market like stocks or commodities, bitcoin will never gonna die but it can't surpass the value of dollar as the standard forex currency trading.
Dollar is the most used currency in the forex trading, and that is impossible that dollar will be replaced by bitcoin. But only bitcoin will be treated as the 2nd currency in the world and possibly next to dollar. What are the lagging factors you are considering with bitcoin to compete with dollars. Bitcoin has no lesser features compared to dollars. So, there is no obvious reasons behind bitcoin to stop it to become the most used currency as dollars except age of bitcoin. So, in time we will use bitcoin more than dollars. I'm not saying that bitcoin will replace dollars, what I'm saying is dollar will always be on the top and bitcoin will be just on the second place. It depends upon the people who are knowing about bitcoin if they will try to adopt it and if the government of US will going to change their currency and create a bill for adoption of bitcoin. Yeah totally, if there are no bill passed for it which is impossible at the first place as government will never allow a currency to be decentralized as there will be no tax then there will be no BTC to replace USD, and it all depends on the users and people to adopt whether they like BTC for their own buying, trading or whatever purposes they have in their mind. If the government will ban bitcoins completely its value will be worthless and I also doubt the government is in favor of using bitcoins as they will not earn anymore from their shady monopoly agreement with major banks who most of us uses for legitimate transaction online. The point of my comment on this thread is that BTC will never ever replace USD as BTC are too decentralized and uncontrollable by any Government, bitcoin will only be a currency used by person who preferred to use it. No other than that BTC is one of the main posing problem of all of the society on their market due to its high anonimity and decentralized used of trading, that means Government all over the world never get any tax return from the users of BTC, which is a total loss for any government. |

Bitcoin will never replace dollar any sooner, this is not possible. All countries all over the world do depend on dollar and this cannot be change. Business transactions, clients and all of institutions mostly prefer monetary exchange.
I agree with you dolar is the primary currency for the entire world. the dollar's strength is very strong. impossible for bitcoin could exceed the strength of the dollar. I think if bitcoin want to replace the dollar. bitcoin should do something more than dollars. you have to conquer the world first. to be able to replace the dollar Yes that is true even though that bitcoin has some point where it is somehow known in any other country or as they say that there are some shops who does accept bitcoin for payments including online shopping but still not all companies in any type will totally accept bitcoin in any way. They would probably prefer the money and so forth dollars that control every country economic status. Dollar cannot be break just like that for people believe money will only transact the business which makes the world go around. |

I missunderstood it, but then I think it is fine since almost all of the comments here are saying that BTC will never replace USD. We all know it, USD is one of the most powerful currency which every country have on their market, and USA government will never allow any cryptocurrency to just replace it. Yeah if the Government will ban BTC then it will totally be worthless, who will used banned currency right, but previous comment is correct that they will never do it as it is one of the techniques used by them to earn tons of money. |

It's definitely not an easy question-it all depeneds on how bitcoin goes in the future and if more people start to use it and replace it as a tool for paying in their lives,it's definitely possible,but I have to say I expect people to use both currencies at least for now.

it doesn't matter how large bitcoin grows in the far future. bitcoin will always remain an alternative currency. governments will never allow their precious fiat system to be replaced by something they can't control. it will cost them many billions in income every year, and on top of that it gives the power to the people. governments want to be the sole ruler over every aspect. it will not happen. |

It's definitely not an easy question-it all depeneds on how bitcoin goes in the future and if more people start to use it and replace it as a tool for paying in their lives,it's definitely possible,but I have to say I expect people to use both currencies at least for now.
But I consider this question a rather easy question since the bitcoin cannot replace dollar soon definitely and in long term with good probability. |

Indeed, dollars is very stable and large population of people are using that already while bitcoins is still in the early stage where it has a small market in terms of users, for now we cannot expect that, let's just observe how well this bitcoins will perform in the following years. |
