Two years have passed and bitcoin is nowhere close to that, we will wait the next 13 years to see if this do in fact happens but I have my doubts that we are going to come to that point that soon.

No way. Bitcoin will not replace the dollar for a long time. I give it at least til the beginning of next century at the earliest.

I think so but I'm not sure about it because you're talking about dollar, we all know that it is a big thing in this world. Maybe dollar will have their own virtual currency when that happens bit still I'm hoping that bitcoins will be more successful as they are today that they will come to the fact that they can replace the dollar and will be one of the official currency that the world will use.

15 years is extremely ambitious. I give it closer to 150 years, and not even playing. My exact guess would be 80-100 years. Here is the thing... everyone in the world uses some form of fiat. It takes time to do anything. It takes LOTS of time to change minds. Then we need to educate the kids about what Bitcoin even is, and most have no idea. Although most kids have no idea about the concept of money in general, so I guess that doesn't matter. What I am getting at is this is a huge undertaking and cannot be accomplished "soon". Fiat and cryptos are hard to mix in current time. Bitcoin though being no. 1 is being challenged by other cryptos. Similar is happening with USD, many countries have already switched to regional and local coins for exchange rates. It's just the world bank and IMF that are securing USD, soon it might to get replaced by Euro or other fiat.

Nope. I dont think so because bitcoin is a digital money and we all know that we are living in the world of reality. We must know that in our life we must rely on our reality not on our digital money. And if you cash bitcoin it will turn ito dollar because they didn't have paper or coins for bitcoin reality. So I think doar will not replaced by bitcoin.

It's not going to do it anytime soon or likely even within 15 years, but it could in our lifetime I reckon. I think more economic instability in certain countries and maybe another financial collapse/crisis will happen soon rather than later and that could bring in many new people to bitcoin which could have a snowball effect. absolutely not. there is no point in thinking it ever will replace any major fiat currency. just stop thinking/hoping that it will happen. it will not.
Why will it not? If in the future bitcoin keeps going up and fiat keeps going down which is what happens when they print more of it on a whim people might wise up. Money should grow over time not devalue and bitcoin could solve this and that's what's great about a deflationary currency. It might goes down but government will find a way to keep it. Banks were built for those fiats and btc were not allowed yet in banks unless for fashing out only. Deposits were not still applicable. Btc user may grew in number but it will take time as well as in usage of btc in community since implementation were not broad to use by common people now.

Well, but I also think that it can not happen, because dollar, and bitcoin have different places, even dollars will not be able to replace bitcoin on the internet because basically bitcoin and dollar are different.

Bitcoin will not replace dollar soon. A lot of topic talks about the Bitcoin replacing currencies but actually, this will be hard because each country's currency has been existed and used for a long time already.

You are right, people will have more benefits in dollar than using bitcoin, it's just a alternate currency with no real value without people using it or supporting it. With dollar, the value is more bigger as it is a more dominant country and people value their own than use a currency that is made by an anonymous person.

It is really not about the benefit but how the government will decide or how they will take action to avoid it. Additionally most country really rely on Paper money rather than any kinds of payment method like paypal and credit cards, that is how most people transact in any country. Bitcoin's price has gone this far because of how it is free to do so from demand to big players it has big factors that affect its massive price. On fiat currency we won't see these kinds of fluctuatiom because the government can control their Fiat Currency.

Bitcoin is the digital currency, while the dollar is the real currency. While transactions around the world do not have to be online transactions. If bitcoin replaces dollar, does whole society in the world must transaction online? I think not, there are online transactions and there are offline transactions. Online transactions using bitcoin and offline transactions using dollars. In my opinion there is nothing to be replaced between bitcoin or dollar.

Maybe if the transaction fee was lower, i may think bitcoin can replace dollar. Additionally, not every people know about bitcoin so it would take long time for bitcoin to replace any currency...
Bitcoin will never replace dollar. Bitcoin will remain as it is. Like what you've said not every people knows about bitcoin so how can they survive without dollar? I don't think this will happen in the future. It will still remain as a dream and not going to make it possible.

Replace a currency important on the world like Dollar is impossible, because Bitcoin at now still not enough famous and the cryptocurrency community very small if compare with currency community. That future just is a dream .

Just don't think of that possibilities because it will never gonna happen, bitcoin will replace dollar? such an unrealistic thinking. Bitcoin will be popular but it's not going to attract a big number of users like dollars were able to attract, plus it's going to be regulated by the government and there will be restrictions soon.

I highly doubt it. USD is a big currency and has a high market value. Eventhough Bitcoin's rate of increase on it valur is high it is still volatile which is different in USD. USD has a stable maeket value. And also Us dollar is a big currncy because it is used in different countries and Bitcoin is only legal to some of the countries namely Japan, North Korea and the likes.

The only thing that makes dollar more famous than bitcoin is, it is the first currency that most of us ever used so there is no doubt that bitcoin cannot replace the dollar because the dollar is what we get used to for the most transactions that we have done in our life and bitcoin is not that easy to access on rural places because of difficulty of gaining internet access so it can't be a replacement for dollar.

that is correct. Even though bitcoin is good and it has many potential, we can not deny that fiat still plays an important role in our life and our economy system. In a face to face trade, I still prefer pay money by fiat because it is faster than bitcoin. Bitcoin transaction needs confirmation so that it will be slower than fiat for a little bit

The confirmation means the decentralized of bitcoin it works.
