I have this feeling that all the idiots who scream that BFL is a scam will just disappear and make new accounts later this year. And there will be a few nuts that believe that hundreds of forum users are being paid by BFL to act like they got working ASIC's.
who knows ))

He forgot the third group.

The people that bitch about their ASIC not going break even in 6 months. You know, an investment that makes over 10% a year is usualyl scammy... here in Bitcoin, people go nuts if something does not make 100% in 4 months Cheesy

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

This is interesting, check out my 'BitPhantom' design ideas in my sig. As a designer I could do branding, design 3d products, code websites and so on. I have been thinking about taking on such a project but I do not have the technical background.

We'd discusssed developing the Leviathan ASIC line with an ARM SoC running a custom version of Android. I really don't understand why BFL decided to make these cute little boxes. ASIC mining should be fearsome and aggressive. When people see the case, they should be filled with awe and despair that their hardware could never compete. I tell you what could you draw up something as concept art and shoot me an email with the pictures?

I'd like something angular, black, dominating and efficient. Something that says I've come to fuck your shit up and there is nothing you can do about it. If BFL is a scam, then I'm going to collect as many people as possible who got screwed and put together a dream team to build the Leviathan ASIC Miner.

The boss of BFL was guilty for mail fraud in 2007, stoip saying that they're not scammers.

The CEO of Butterfly Labs is a convicted felon (25M USD worth of mail fraud):

Does anyone know if there was a limited release from BFL very recently? The Hashrate jumped to a new all-time high (could just be a consequence of mining popularity). Disclosure- I have not purchased anything from them, just a curious citizen.

Its been in the news a lot all over the web so I think it was a jump in popularity.  I know I am one of those.

No I think with the increased power usage costs, they're being forced to redesign the boards and powersupply and this is increasing their cost.

As delayed as they are, I think we will get them soon. I mean they sent a dev unit to a guy to review it. So it is legit.

Hey guys I'm knew here so thanks and hello to the community. I think I might have a couple answers for some of the questions I saw on this page of the thread. So first developers and reviewers have been shipped and some have already recieved their 5 gh/s and the video I saw showed the guy unwrapping the jalapeno and plug it in and it starts hashing it ran at about 30 watts and was hashing from like 4.3gh to 5.7gh. I will continue in next post to help me get some post numbers sorry for the inconvenience.-obiwanjabroni

Hey everyone again by the way I don't work for BFL I heard about bitcoins in a forum last Augusg so after watching I decided to invest a small amount that I could afford to lose. So just a regular guy with nothing to gain so just so that's outta the way I'll continue from where I left off.  The guy in the video who recieved the asics jalepeno mentions in that everything has moved up a size bigger, the jalepeno is now in the 25 gh/s box and the single 60gh/s will be bigger as well. Now the prices have gone up I beleive a 5gh/s is $274.99 and the 60gh/s unit is now a 50gh/s unit at $2499. Those of u that purchased a single for $1299.00 will still get the 60 gh/s it may be one 50gh/s machine and two 5gh/s jalepenos or 2 units running at 30gh/s each but regarless u will be getting the gh rates that you purchased or that you purchase now. So I hope that helps I will look at my twitter account and see if I can find a link to the unwrapping video or at least send you in the right direction to find it but I'm sure it willl be if it isn't already on the BFLforumsite so you can check announcements there. So I hope that helps and puts some minds and pocketbooks at ease because if they are confident enough to ship it to a reviewer I would say we are literally days from mass shipping to the public.-obiwanjabroni

They also advertise on bitcointalk.com, does that mean they are legit? Or at least BT supports BFL?

Right. Please explain how BFL lying for months on end about shipping dates and power consumption to make more money does not equal a scam. Bait and switch is a real verifiable scam mechanism.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bait-and-switch

Even if the previously convicted felon that runs BFL does not abscond with the loot this is still a scam. People pre-ordering now will not break even because they'll not receive their products for several months, at which time difficulty will be several times higher than it is now. That is why FTC prompt delivery rules exist in the US. BFL is a US based company and is very clearly in violation of these rules.
