Maybe that price tagg was just made because they are in the same League for Bayern Munich , thats what i think.
So its possible that they want to be sure if Wirtz leaving the club that he dont goes to an direct competitor , specially because its Munich , but who knows.
I guess that Xabi Alonso tried a few times to get Wirtz with him to Real Madrid and its possible that we will see him there for sure.
He has the skills and all to making something that Kroos have done there.

For me Jamal Musiala is also in some ways better then Florian Wirtz there is no question about that.

Everything is about how committed they are towards participation. I am not very optimistic about that point especially that many Bayer Leverkusen players are looked for by many teams and Xabi Alonso himself. Additionally, Ten Hag has his way of players selections and might change drastically the technics and the way of the gameplay for the team.

I'm not a big believer in Ten Hag's skills. He might have done well in Eredivisie, but that's a different level from the Premier League or Bundesliga.
I don't even blame him for Man United's poor performance, he's actually not looking that bad compared to United's current manager (Ruben Amorim) who ended the season in the worst league position since the 70s (if I remember correctly). But what I disliked about him when he was leading United is that he didn't seem to be doing much to improve the team's performance. Is like he was carrying on with the same tactic, somehow expecting different results. A good manager should be able to adapt and be proactive.

Overall, I think it will be hard for Leverkusen to either win the league or even finish in the 2nd place next season. I predict Bayern to defend the title and expect Dortmund to be the top contender, if they play as good as they did at the end of the season.

Maybe it's right that they have to compete a lot for this title because I think they are excluding high quality players. As you mentioned that this team has sold some important players to other clubs but on the other hand, their arch-enemy is selectively taking high-quality players into their own hands. This team was once much stronger and they won the title but their current performance proves that they may not be able to come close to the title in the new season either. One thing to remember is that this German league club Bayer Leverkusen has lost their best dribblers one of the notable players being Frimpong, without these players Leverkusen may never be able to offer competitive football.

Yeah it was the main reason. Leverkusen doesn't want to lose one of their best players to one of their direct rivals in the same league. It is reasonable as every big team from different leagues is doing the same.

The squad owned by Leverkusen can make a new step with Ten Hag because if they have the support of quality players, it will make it easier for Ten Hag to build a team. I think it's too early for you to come to conclusions as to why you think Bayern Munich will possibly remain champions and dominate the league for another five years, Bayern Munich got better than Leverkusen last season and they are building up the team again with the players they are attracting to the club but the transfer market is still available and the current coach of Bayer Leverkusen still has time to shop for new players that will help the team to get better so that they can still challenge Bayern Munich next season and more season to come.
