Unexpected result. If I remember correctly, Bochum was a slight favorite with a quote of 2.35 and Fortuna was quoted as ~2.8. Next season is another season and we should aswell consider that he's not a very young player and cannot continually be as effective as he would be much earlier than now, he has been really helpful to the team at the beginning of the season and at this point it can be said he's been a good player enough even if he isn't as efficient as he had always been at the very beginning of his arrival to the team.

He coached Burnley and was able to take them to the Premier league, and although they have been sent back to relegation, we cannot blame it all on him, the quality of the teams in the league was too much for him to handle with the players he had.

If you have also noticed most of the coaches that learnt coaching under Pep Guardiola have become very good coaches in their team, we see Arsenal coach as an example of that, or players who he coached who have now become coaches , players like Xabi Alonso, Xavi. Vincent Kompany can be another. One of the biggest problems that Bayern Munich had this season was their defense which was very poor but some have managed to save them fine to the Champions League, Vincent Kompany was a very good defender, he will bring changes to Bayern's defense.

Sometimes self-confidence is also an important factor in performing optimally because they are in good mental condition because they always win matches and have not been defeated, but it seems like their self-confidence is too high so they brag and feel they will be able to beat Atalanta easily even though no matter how confident they are should not underestimate their opponents and keep trying to perform as best as possible so that they can win this prestigious title, but it's useless because the Europa League match is over and Leverkusen have to accept their defeat for the first time in a very important match as well as an important lesson for Leverkusen not to demeaning his co-stars even though they've had a great season.

I never read or saw Bayern Munich fans saying that and even if they do back it up with some evidence. The Europa League might not have ended as we expected but I think the DFB pokal is actually going to finish in favor of Leverkusen.

Everyone thought Leverkusen would finish the season winning the Treble and be equipped with an unbeaten record in three competitions, but the defeat in the Europa League final meant they failed to make a mark in football history as a Treble winning team that was never defeated in one season. Leverkusen defeat against Atalanta felt very embarrassing, they had the status of the top team in that game but were unable to withstand the onslaught of the Atalanta players.
Of course Leverkusen have made their own history despite failing to maintain their unbeaten record in the Europa League final, now they have the chance to win their second trophy of the season when they face Kaiserslautern in the DFB pokal final.

Atlanta really prepared for Leverkusen in that match, they didn't come to play possession football in the game, but business football and with a discipline never to lose or misuse a scoring chance. Leverkusen clearly dominated the midfield, but all their efforts were rendered futile by the ever gallant Atlanta defense.

I think their confidence were slightly too much in the final match, so when faced with a challenging and ever resilient Atlanta, they became frustrated and that led to more goals by A.Lookman.  They've done well in this season maintaining an unbeaten streak across competition until the Europa final and they can start it again with DFB Pokal final they've ahead.

The drama that happened between Atalanta and Leverkusen had made people to quit picking real Madrid as favorites for champions league easily because as it stands now, anything can happen. We're looking forward to the finals to celebrate the winners.

I think also Leverkusen felt too confident and that is why they lost Europa League final. They had great season but they needed to remember that no team is perfect. Winning both Europa League and DFB Pokal would have been amazing but losing the Europa League final shows that anything can happen. Leverkusen did something great by beating team that had won 11 times in a row. One loss shouldn't hide how well they have done. I think they will try harder and maybe win the DFB Pokal which would still make this a great season.

Contrarily I felt the pressure was what caused Leverkusen not been able to win the Europa finals and not even their confidence which some may think they had, they were actually really confident in the fact that they were going to win the trophy because they have won even teams that appears even tough than  Atalanta both in their domestic league and the Europa but then the finals came with so much pressure such that they weren't just focused on winning alone but also focused on maintaining a record.

At the beginning of the final game , just before Atlanta got their first goal, it could be observed that Leverkusen were very much careful with the game and they were trying as much as possible to making sure they are able to maintain a defensive yet opportunistic attacking strategy but it turned out that Atalanta realized it Early enough and seized the opportunity they had to get a goal then the second after which they now adopted the Leverkusen strategy which Leverkusen dropped in the second half and started to play for a goal but it felt like it was late already.

I still believe Leverkusen is a good team and can be able to achieve a whole lot by next season but they may not be able to maintain the record they did had this season as it was such a huge one that no one expected of them and so it gave them the privilege to get through to setting the record but now a few will be having their mi D's on the possible performance if Leverkusen which will lead to them wanting to stop Leverkusen from repeating such records again.
