i think 2016 will be a good year for bitcoin use and worldwide adoption, news coverage already increasing and many people using BTC and increased places actually accepting it.

if even more places are not accepting is directly you can still buy stuff from them using 3rd party or you can exchange your bitcoins to fiat there are alot of people ready to buy and when you have fiat in hand in exchange of bitcoins then you can use it anywhere you can so you can use bitcoins anywhere you want

2015 is the year of turning point for bitcoin price comes out of bear market. 2016 is the year for bitcoin to be reported more in main stream media and used more as a currency

The halving will reduce the supply of newly minted bitcoin. The increase of block size will help the adoption of bitcoin. So good news ahead.

Of course it will happen this year also, the bitcoin will definitely touch $800 or maybe it cross $1200, just as in 2013 the price within one month gone higher from $100 to $300 . In 2016 we will wait for the price to touch $1000, I have hold some bitcoins for the future benefits.

Yes, as adoption of bitcoin in use on digital world, will be more faster around halving just due to the fact of value appreciations, then 2016 will be the year of bitcoin as it will defeat all payment processors in terms of growth rate and best performing in value appreciations.

Agreed 2016 will be a good year, but 2017 will likely be better and to be followed by even better times in 2018 2019 etc

Bitcoin has got off to a rocky start at the start of the year, but after halving it should be all good.

Yeah the start was very frustrating I hope it will eventually get back.
The halving should be a right moment for bitcoin to get back on track.

Just look at the chart showing the number of transactions!!! Cheesy

2016 is the heart of the exponential use of btc! More and more bitcoin are coming this is gonna be huge!
My only worry is the scaling capacity of btc...

I'm not the only one concerned I know, but truly if a solution is not found it might stop the exponential adoption, which would be really prejudicable to btc.

I think so as well, and i believe after the next halving even the Bitcoin's price will increase and that's encouraging more people to start using this powerful crypto currency online to make deals and trades

I think 2016 is still a bit too early if you look at the grand scheme of things, we'll see some notable progress, but i don't expect Bitcoin to explode until 2017 at least.
Then again, who knows what will happen in the next following months.

The bear market has lasted long enough. I predict 2016 is the year where bitcoin finally breaks through, both in price and in mainstream adoption.

The fork issue is a distraction. It won't kill bitcoin. The majority will eventually choose what fork they want to use, whether it is the original, or XT, or some third option.

I see the fork issue as silly infighting which only hurts bitcoin. I want bitcoin to succeed, that's what I care about, not what version of BTC I use. I will go with the majority, whichever fork is chosen.
i dont know how the criteria that there was one year called "bitcoin year" even for last year bitcoin just like another year, nothing special. the only thing that make this year will be special is,bitcoin halving, maybe you cn call this year is bitcoin year from that.

Bitcoin will not destroy the banking system. The banks can use bitcoin to do business. They will earn more due to the lower cost dealing with bitcoin.

Bitcoin halving but don't forget the size issue.
Strange to believe that the "bitcoin year" will be the year of the scaling issue...
I mean for me that's a bit too much optimistic. It'll be already good enough if we don't lose the biggest part of the value of btc. It's a very risky year so not the year for global adoption in my opinion.
