Support is not? There is a problem? Scary to buy
If the price is below 0.001 is sad.

Obviously do not buy a coin that went up 10x or more within the last 24 hours. Some people just don't know these things... it's sad.

My first statement on Twitter: Already the wrong crowd of buyers/supporters $EXP http://pastebin.com/5q5eHTKJ (Last year's AMA)

I replied to Julian: Let's be honest, you and I know most people in Jumbucks Slack despise "bagholding" altcoins. They only care about BTC or profit @jyap

Nathan Bowers ‏@outragedhuman: are you saying you like bagholding and hate profits? I'm confused.
ME: You're using a strawman argument. I'm a trader and I know when to buy and hold or trade short-term. I make profit from both strategies.

Nathan Bowers ‏@outragedhuman: @CryptoGambleh @scambust completely agree. I'm not sure if he's suggesting we should take a loss or baghold happily. And why ama hate?
ME: Now, he's not sure, LOLZ. I do not hate the AMA per se. I'll explain in a bit.

Julian Yap ‏@jyap Coinmarkets died in 2014. Jumbucks Slack isn't even the same people since most have left the alt scene.
ME: I've been lurking everywhere: Slack groups, Telegram groups, Reddit groups, IRC groups and here. The conversations inside Jumbucks mostly just talk about trading. I believe the quality and topics of conversation hasn't change at all. It may be different people, but same shit.

Why I think the Expanse Dev Team was shilling to the wrong crowd
The ultimate goal of every altcoin is to be used and adopted by the masses. The first sets of people they should be promoting Expanse is to the mining community and then to the developer community. The second set of people are the long-term investors or VCs that are willing to weather the volatility of a traded altcoin. The rest of crypto can be informed through press releases, blog posts and forums.

The dev team got the mining community hooked, good job but then they made mediocre efforts to reach out to developers. And I don't see any attempts at acquiring big investors.

And then I read the AMA they did it with a community of traders (Jumbucks Slack). This is an AMA to a group of people who most will definitely buy the coin before the hype and then dump afterwards - which is not at all wrong. They are traders after all.  Let me tell you, not all communities are traders. Supernet Slack, Storj Slack, Alexandria Slack, etc. - They mostly talk about coding.

It's like BTC Core devs or major BTC mining pool operators announcing their plans on Whaleclub (BTC traders) which is fucking crazy. Coin devs talking to coin traders feels weird.

10:45 <+cryptoclub> The other ETH clones have anon devs, so we have an edge over them IMHO.
10:45 <+defaced> how is my pw wrong -,-
10:45 <+aaltc> lmao
10:45 <+defaced> im copying it directly from the pdf
10:45 <+aaltc> rip @defaced
10:46 <+keesmomma> Are you worried about volume?
10:46 <+defaced> id like things to grow organically
10:46 <+defaced> volume will come

10:46 <+cryptoclub> I am not worried about Volume as we are POW now and will always get it. Buy support is always my main concern.
10:46 <+cryptoking> After shit like $URO @cryptoclub  do you really think anon vs. real identity gives extra confidence to a project?
10:47 <+collincrypto> it doesn't hurt
10:47 <+cryptoclub> Yes, it doesn't hurt.
10:47 <+cryptoclub> We have reps and are not going to just vanish one day.
10:47 <+julian> maybe the team needs to put buy support in the early days to show confidence in the project
10:47 <+cryptoclub> And we are not making any promises like URO
10:48 <+cryptoking> so - you're just identified, but you're not promising anything.
10:48 <+cryptoking> >_>
10:48 <+defaced> I always have buy support hanging over the market
10:48 <+cryptoclub> Cryptoking, not promising anything we can't deliver.
10:49 <+sicarious> "over?" 0_o
10:49 <+cryptoking> @sicarious:  yes the ominous buy sell support
10:49 <+cryptoking> you know.
10:49 <+sicarious> lol
10:49 <+defaced> when its low i send btc and buy
10:50 <+aaltc> "where does the bitcoin go?"
10:50 <+sicarious> what do you consider "low?"
10:50 <+cryptoking> ^
10:50 <+danconway> As stated previously, we have quite a lot of plans and things in development, but we won't rush to announcing anything until its ready to go, unless its something being proposed and discussed on the DAO
10:50 <+cryptoking> looks like rekt after rekt to me.
10:50 <+defaced> well at 5k sat i can buy every expanse out
10:50 <+defaced> thats low to me
10:50 <+cryptoking> @defaced:  do it.
10:50 <+danconway> if a project is making grandeous world changing claims, that's a likely yellow or red flag
10:51 <+defaced> @cryptoking:  my forcing the price anywhere days are over.
10:51 <+cryptoking> @defaced:  so where would you advise people to "invest" in this project.
10:51 <+julian> a question for the team. is volume evil? because i think “organic volume†doesn’t really exist.
10:51 <+aaltc> I think that’s valid.
10:51 <+defaced> whereever they feel comfortable.
10:51 <+eleven> solid question jyap
10:52 <+defaced> volume isnt evil, volume is good, volume and distribution are the goal.
10:52 <+cryptoclub> @julian volume is very important, not evil at all. Worrying about volume for me is worrying about losing a slot, and that won't happen.
10:52 <+eleven> "Worrying about volume for me is worrying about losing a slot, and that won't happen. "
10:52 <+aaltc> losing a slot?
10:52 <+danconway> Volume is good, fake volume isn't (although can be for a project to keep people interested, seeing a high volume on an exchange)
10:52 <+eleven> does this imply you will fake it to make it

10:52 <+aaltc> wat
10:52 <+cryptoclub> Being delisted.
10:53 <+aaltc> Ah
10:53 <+julian> but if EXP were to get say 60 BTC of volume, that’s obviously not organic, right?
10:53 <+sicarious> are you promoting faking volume?
10:53 <+sicarious> 0_o
10:53 <+cryptoclub> Eleven, no POW has miners that will sell regardless.
10:53 <+cryptoking> 0_o
10:53 <+sicarious> @bittrex-bill:
10:53 <+danconway> No, the opposite
10:53 <+defaced> @julian not if im all 60 btc
10:53 <+defaced> but if its 60 btc because people here like our idea, that would be organic.
10:53 <+danconway> We are saying we have no interest in faking volume, nor a need to when the project has legitimate growth merits

10:53 <+eleven> I see, What is the daily dump amount from the miners, enough to keep you listed?

Quote
10:56 <+aaltc> Answer pls >>Also have any of your developers actually done the work of converting PoW to PoS before?
10:56 <+defaced> @danconway:  same
10:56 <+julian> are you afraid of other ETH clones coming along?
10:56 <+defaced> @aaltc for bitcoin variants i have
10:56 <+danconway> Not at all, we have faith in our own abilities and plans, if a team can come along to bring about big innovations on Ethereum based platforms, it will benefit us as well
10:57 <+cryptoclub> I think we compare well to the others, and I know some of their promises are not likely to happen. As for future competitors, that is an unknown.
10:57 <+defaced> i understand how pos well,. but adding it to exp, is a completely new beast
10:57 <+defaced> how pos works*
10:57 <+aaltc> @defaced:  cool. Yeah; my understanding is that adding PoS is no small feat

Quote
11:05 <+aaltc> What’s the timeline for that update are you guys thinking?
11:06 <+cryptoclub> Eventually it will be POS, but I believe Ethereum will update their code soon, and we can do the same based on that. Not sure of an exact timeline for it.
11:06 < slackbot> Soonâ„¢
11:06 <+aaltc> lol

Quote
11:09 <+cryptoking> Sounds like you're pretty dependent on the Ethereum dev team. Would you guys be "screwed" if the Eth team up and ran?
11:10 <+defaced> no, because then there would be an incentive to pick up and work on exp
11:10 <+defaced> our DAO

Let me remind you the devs are talking to "traders". The conversation translates in my head -> We don't know what we're doing, but we can always copy and paste Ethereum code. We can pretend we are coding and promise everything, in the meantime, we'll turn on our volumizer in sync with pump groups one day.

BOOM! And the volumizer switches off on the clock. LOLZ.

To Julian: it was never an attack to your "community" of traders. I don't know why you got riled up.
To neck-beards everywhere and the feeble-minded: Lay off the drugs, will ya? What a waste of time typing this shit up!

lol

"scambuster" quit being a fucking tool m8. They were asked to go there, they wernt shilling, and just answering the crowds questions. You can spin it however you want it but the proof is in black and white and kindly bolded by you. Nothing they said was out of turn as much as you wish it to be. There is no conspiracy. Nice effort though. Good for you, bitcointalk surely appreciates everything you do. You dont have any motives at all, nope. None.

As some of you know, Ethereum will be going proof of stake in the future. Expanse can also do this, or anything else. If you have opinions to share on what direction we should go, please feel free to chime in. We have the freedom to basically do whatever we want here.

Why ppl want expanse?

There are only 1,170,379 EXP available now.
EXP will switch (probably) to PoS before 2 millions coin.
You'll need a minimum amount of EXP to benefit from PoS (probably 1000+)

look at the distribution on bittrex, you'll see any big wallets , max 14k coins.
compare with others eth clones ( soil 600k+ lol ) same for shift.
Not so many coins are generated every days...

Take your ticket ^^

What is up with the crazy price manipulation? When 24 hr volume is several times the size of the marketcap, well... that just isn't natural.

Lots of theories on that. I can share what I know.

Several traders have said they really love Expanse and might be big players, they could have been involved. (they were tweeting, so certainly they were trading) It is entirely possible some interest or traders out of China were behind it.(Little things like making the mining count a lucky number for China, 8, could influence them... who knows?)

ETH whales, maybe. We do have some information coming out soon, and maybe some people got excited, but certainly it was big money.

What I am 100% certain of, the team was shocked by it all, happy, but shocked. My best estimate was that it was just a perfect storm of some large investors, interest, and small investors all hitting at once.

Thanks for the reply on this. Didn't this happen a month or two ago as well? I remember seeing price skyrocket and volume was several times the cap.

At release Expanse was crazy popular and went on all the key exchanges within 24 hours. By the time it hit Poloniex it went crazy high. Obviously it corrected, over corrected in my view. After that and continued development, that were several +100% or more spikes, but nothing this dramatic.

Mirage in what way? We were 12k days ago. Only in crypto is +500% not good enough. Long term holders and miners are doing amazingly well. Best thing if you not involved, have patience and pay attention. I would never suggest buying at the top, but I also don't know what the top is. Expect volatility however, we do have that and EXP is rare.

How big is the team behind Expanse meanwhile?

Are you actively checking the fixed bugs in the code that bug hunters find in Ethereum's source code? I would imagine many of the bugs that are being found in Ethereum also apply to Ethereum forks but can be quicker fixed, as the work has been already done with Ethereum.

Scam bust, you have to be kidding me.

Jumbucks had an ASK ME ANYTHING session, where they invited us for an interview. We participated and answered questions honestly they asked for over an hour. That is being transparent. They invited us out of the blue, we saw no reason not to come. It was open and public for all, and they posted all the information online and nothing was secret.

Franko has done other interviews, we will do more. Most of these will be crypto radio shows, crypto websites, crypto groups. For obvious reasons.

We did not seek out a trading group. I assume Jumbucks is a crypto coin group based around their crypto. I imagine they were curious about Expanse and also wanted some cross promotion by having us on (we do have some followers in the crypto world). I have not heard anything bad about Jumbucks before and saw no reason to deny their request. They came to us.

Additionally, this was a very long time ago, well over a month?
