so, got a new usb 3.0 hub (tp-link uh720), but can't get the bitshopper-version working in bfgminer on rpi b+.
usb 2.0 hub worked fine but was too weak. any suggestion?

Are they detected at all ?
Any error message ?

Also try to plug the Usb3 hub in the usb2 hub and the usb2 in the rpi.

RPI doesn't like USB3 a lot.

no, bfgminer doesn't detect the stick. also only the green led on the stick is on, not the blue one which is blinking when it's mining.
i already tried connecting the hubs to each other, this also didn't help.

Does anyone have any experience with these Y-cables?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/39cm-USB-2-0-A-Female-to-2-Dual-USB-male-Hub-Power-Adapter-Y-Splitter-cable-Cord-/141745213314?hash=item2100ac4f82:g:j5wAAOSwd0BVzVp8

The reason I ask is that I got one from Amazon and when I measured the voltage and amps on my Drok I was seeing a .3-.4V drop and a .3-.5A drop depending if I was using 2 or 1 of the male ends. I was just wondering if anyone else saw anything like?

Now one caveat here, I was using this to charge a tablet, so does that make any difference? I have not tested it on the stick miner yet because I was concerned with the initial results. Any help would be appreciated.

That is pretty cheap. I'd kind of link overclocking my stick to 20GH/s, maybe this would work.

Anyone know if these make noise? I just have a bad experience with small fans. So far it seem the smaller they are, the more ear-rape they are.

To start with your drivers.
You are damn right!

it seems to work now! I must have been blind!
Strange that it did not install this driver when i put the usb in?

I started on a macosx, then linux, and as a last resort on windows.
I'm going to try this on the other platforms since i just installed windows to test this.

What drivers are needed on linux or macosx?

Thanks Toptek for the advice!

Linux comes with both drivers for BFG and CFGMINER, for windows, BFG is best, it seems to pick it up better etc  , i use PI's of all types for my controllers that run different versions of Linux. The main Linux site or versions i use are here http://www.armbian.com/ he covers all PIs so far but raspberry. from time to time if I'm messing around I may  DL berryboot http://www.berryterminal.com/doku.php/berryboot .

try

Quote
-S all --set compac:clock=200

 you shouldn't need
Quote
-S all
but sometimes  it might help.

like some one said USB 3, doesn't work well with any raspberry PI, self powered or not, I have yet to get any USB 3 hub to work with any RPI but have with other PI types and make sure the USB hub is self powered, most PI's can't power hubs if they have a way to self power them self and the ones that need external power like PCs or PIs for this type of use, seem to be junk .

i sort of have something like that now.. i took apart an old psu and hooked it to usb.

but.. i was thinking about making something more permanent.
at only a couple bucks each those fans would fit on the heatsink and only need 5v.

Get some cheeeeaaap usb cables and cut them and use the 2 power wires, then just plug the fan's into another powered hub would probably be easier.

Disabling the LEDs in code might be an option on the next version since the next version would have an actual microcontroller on it. But like every other Bitmain-based USB miner, there is no real active control on the device. The green is hardwired off 5V and the flash is triggered by a serial data response from the ASIC.

Cool, quiet and up to 1TH pod miner, on sale now!

Thanks for clearing that up I thought as much Smiley.

Having the option to switch it off or adjust the brightness with the next version would be great Cool.
