Yep, right leg is 800mV. I meant left leg at 550mV. So 10 o'clock is between left leg of 550mV and approximately 700mV at 12 o'clock and the rest is eyeball approximation.

Not sure what is going on ...i did the instructions
see here on my test laptop (same kind) and all was well
can't get it to work says gekko detect 1-12 failed you don' have privlage completely stymied
using this for the cgminer
./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 -u 1BURGERAXHH6Yi6LRybRJK7ybEm5m5HwTr --compac-freq 150
just to get it up and running
advice? (using 10 port orico powered hub that worked before and others on here say work
suggestions? (or if wrong sidehack support thread i'll move)
using unbuntu 12.04 *all up to date on upgrades*
I did not even use stratum+tcp://, just had stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 maybe you need to add _yourstickname to burger adhttps://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173963.msg12378834#msg12378834re vs some special cgminer build which, as a newb in sticks, I did not know how to do. Tomorrow will try wi-fi, although it might be too complicated. yeah no idea wtf i'm doing the machines are old no longer up gradable beyond xp laptops i can run up to unbuntu 12.04 on them. cgminer comes up simply can't find the devices (have 2 sticks) worked on the test machine with a hub so i'm kinda stumped guess i can just re-install on a diff laptop see if that cures it as you can see from the 'long' instructions on my prev quoted msg link there....it should be idiot proof ..so running off and adding bfgminer to the mix probably won't work in that i was hand held the first time thru on the cgminer test rig .now i try to put it up for good in basement blamo nothing works serves me right for moving out of my 'comfort' zone..the only reason i want to use these laptops is they are 'free' and montior the titans also with putty ssh i reached to far and fell off the ladder The "It takes a village" massive effort link below on the first time I got it to work......what I just used https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173963.msg12378834#msg12378834this time it was a no go cgmier comes up with the 'test start address to start cgminer' i used from page 1....but alas says no permission and device error as above in quoted msg again prob should just reinstall the works I guess After doing the sudo make or the sudo make install, did you do ---> sudo cp 01-cgminer.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/ (if it does not copy, sudo su enter then cp 01-cgminer.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/ ) while still in the cgminer-gekko dir, And the sudo usermod -G plugdev -a whoami (whoami= your user name you setup), then a reboot, to set-up/give permission?

Also, I'd have to verify with Novak but it's possible the cgminer-gekko does not recognize bitshopper sticks. BFG has no problem with them. Stock cgminer should work them as U3 just the same as a Gekkoscience stick, pretty sure.

i took the special one from the OP-Posting. is it normal that the sticks make sometimes some "buzzing" sound while working ... ? in idle i don't hear them but sometimes when mining (windows) they sound strange after re-inserting to the usb hub it's normal again test again: plugging in one miner direct in the RPi ... same ... not working is there any difference in th e EU/US Gekkos?? the buzz is wrong. you have a power issue. could be hub and rasp pi don't mesh could be you have the little pot turned up to high or too low

for BFGminer: --set compac:clock=*** (decimal, not hex) you can fine tune them by: - setting them at the frequency you want to achieve (assuming your hub port can deliver the W) - setting core V until you get no HW error using the "screw pod" I know it's a PITA but this has been discussed at length in this topic, tru a search, or reading the last 10/12 pages (that's when I arrived and asked and summarized a lot of things ) when to issue this ^^^ command? Does it mean that 250=250Mhz? At the same time when you ask it to mine (after the password in a string) or beforehand (in bfgminer directory)? I use the command from TingaWinga5 youtube video (great stuff-described how all dependencies have to be downloaded) to run bfgminer: screen -S Mining ./bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://POOL.com:PORT -u USER -p PASSWORD if you have a better run command- let me know, please.

I have not tried the EU one on cgminer-gekko. I treated it as a collectors since I only have one of the design. I have it, the reviewer, and pre-production all running in stock current cgminer as u3 (icarus). Have no issues with it. On the one's I got from sidehack i have them running cgminer-gekko and OC'ed. But have not tried EU one on the cgminer-gekko.

From what I can read, its only a charging station.. get that and 5 Y power splitter cables and a 7 port/5 port USB hub..

From what I can read, its only a charging station.. get that and 5 Y power splitter cables and a 7 port/5 port USB hub.. It is only charging so good thing amazon has good return policy. If at all possible if you just placed order try to talk to customer service and see if they can cancel it out before it ships. If it just takes longer and shipping back. But make sure in future to get a hub, not just charger. A lot of these chargers have really great power... it's since they are meant to charge fast. But if they have no data cable to go to computer... all you are left with is a charging station.

Would be good if Gekko can come up with a nice big unit like bitmain and take the improvements used to tweak the voltage. Would love to see a unit come out in the future that has such options available. Is their any plans on bringing out some 4TH units or above in the future?

If you plan to use Y-cable you can use it as the power source. Then you need a real (maybe powered) USB-Hub for data.

Order was cancelled in time, thanks for the help its much appreciated....
So what's the general consensus for a hub to both power and transmit data for 5 compaq's?
This one works good http://www.amazon.com/Superbpag-Portable-Charger-Transfer-Samsung/dp/B013OK10YMIt even work's with Raspberry Pi 2-B (Pi's are very picky on hubs and will usually never work with usb 3.0 hubs or even some 2.0 hubs). It will do ~2 amps per port, I've ran 5 sticks at 250MHz for over 2 week's with only about 3 HW errors (once you get the pot on the stick adjusted).

To large... I highly doubt gekko wants to compete directly with bitmain's S7 type products as bitmain makes chips. I am hoping they continue on with the pod miner, something like the "new rbox". Having power issues as well with my USB hub but it's crap lol any load and the voltage starts dipping.. Don't use a hub that has a 12VDC power supply lol. Will a rasp2 be able to handle 3 miners connected to it's USB ports if it is powered via a hefty PS? Overclocked to liek 250Mhz is what I would want to do.

I'm pretty sure the RPI has a strict USB management and won't allow more than 500mA/port.
plus 3 sticks won't fit unless you use a cable extension.

I have 5 with Y cables on a orico A3H10, running 240Mhz. I've not tried more yet as I'm waiting for the USB doctors to arrive to fine tune my sticks. PS is 36W, so 7.2W/stick with should be able to get them over 325Mhs. also 1 USB3 port is 4.5W so using Y cable i could get 9W/stick, but the 36W power supply is the limit in my case.
