Yeah its not looking good for tennis with the corona virus, its okay if the smaller tournaments are cancelled however some players use these tournaments to help get them fit ready for the bigger tournaments and grand slams. It's especially bad for the lower-ranked players money-wise. They are kind of self-employed and have some staff to pay. These players often live from paycheck to paycheck and with all tournaments cancelled, they won't earn any money for weeks/months. Their travel expenses will also be less, but some fixed costs remain. No problem for ~Top70 players, but everyone else will surely be worried.

Look like world is stuck with this CoronaVirus as many Schools Colleges Universities closed sporting events cancelled or suspended and we are losing in economy as well so this virus is really killing badly this is going to be more terribel in next few months if WHO fail to bring any thing to control this.

Ouch, sad news for tennis fans here, I'm excited to watch this tournament and make some beats, unfortunately, it looks like the corona virus pandemic has really affected us, even in sports. But we can't blame the organisers though, they just want to make sure that everyone are going to be safe. I'm expecting the remaining minor tournaments to be cancelled as well.

Its going to affect all sports as we see many European football matches played with no fans in the stadium so maybe this could be an option for tennis tournaments. Very shocking news for Tennis lovers all events are suspended for next 6 weeks after this we will have new update what will happen with this all https://www.atptour.com/en/news/atp-tour-2020-six-week-suspension-decision

Yes, it looks like we won't see any matches for the coming weeks, I think we all know that is coming, even NBA has suspended it's season for now (one player is positive of the virus). It's really too bad that the COVID-19 is really taking a toll on every sporting events, but we cannot do anything about it for now but to hope that somewhat the contamination will put to a halt. And for everyone, just stay safe as well, no need to go out somewhere if it is not that important.

I'm not sure if we will see tennis return in 6 weeks as I can see the corona virus getting worse so I can see all sports being called off for a lot longer unless they play in empty stadiums but even then the players might contract the virus like we have seen in the NBA. If this is the case then the French Open may be cancelled this year or pushed back once the virus is under control. Its going to be interesting times ahead for tennis and all sports for that matter. Stay safe everyone!

Yes, everyone losses in this worst kind of scenario. Not just for the players, but the whole business itself, every support staff are going to suffer from games being suspended because of covid-19.

Usually tennis event is being held in two weeks, so if they are going to cancel an event, in 6, it's likely that we may have to missed 3 tournaments already. However, at this point, we can't really do anything about the COVID-19, but to stay at home, so that we can have less contact to people that might be carrying the virus or whatever. It's really frustrating to see other sports being cancelled globally, in football reports are popping out that a player has tested positive for the virus, so everyone is really taking precaution today. In the past 8 hours, our community was alarm when we heard reports that we have one cases already. But thank God the person turns out to be negative. So yes, be safe, don't go to crowded places, but pandemic won't stop sports for good.

As a fan yes this decision indeed hurts a lot as we won’t be able to watch any match for quiet a while now, but as a human being I feel this one of the best decisions in the current scenario. @Bitsat19 it doesn’t matter if there’re no cases reported as this virus spreads on touch and symptoms often show post 2 - 14 days, hence I’m glad the organisers didn’t take any chances with the security of the fans and the players. ATP tour has just decided to suspend tournaments for period of 6 weeks. Here are few selected quotes from ATP page. The ATP has announced a six-week suspension of the men’s professional tennis tour due to escalating health and safety issues arising from the global outbreak of COVID-19. The suspension means all ATP Tour and ATP Challenger Tour events scheduled up to and inclusive of the week of April 20 will not take place. The suspension of ATP events takes place with immediate effect, meaning this week’s ATP Challenger tournaments in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, and Potchefstroom, South Africa, are not able to be completed. Not the news we wanted to hear but only sensible decision in times like these. Hopefully, situation will be under control by the end of that 6 weeks and tour will continue as usual.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/51930214we will have RG as last grand slam this year, since it is delayed for the end of September, from 20nd till 4th of October, just one week after US Open, it clashes with Laver cup, but there was not other spare dates, and French federation do not want to cancel it since Laver cup is promoted by Nadal, he could miss RG due to his contract obligations, so tournament will be without the king, doubt that it will happen, but RG decided new dates without consultation https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/mar/17/french-open-tennis-postponed-until-late-september-due-to-coronavirus

I think we will see minor tournaments being cancelled totally this year, to give way to bigger tournaments of them all, the Grand Slam. I think Nadal has no choice but to go with Laver Cup, but let's see how it goes, maybe tournaments official will have to work out so that there will be no conflicting schedules.

I can’t believe how messed up the schedule has got as players will barely get time to recover, and many players will now have to play in selective tournaments only to keep themselves fit, which will dilute the competitiveness in these tournaments. As far as Nadal is concerned we will have to wait and see what he chooses, but I don’t expect him to participate in both the tournaments due to the various injuries he has suffered in the past, therefore he’ll be forced to play in limited tournaments only. Most likely we will be normal in July or August because its not easy to have this all in very quick time now we have more causalties and more spread of this in many areas just because of peoples movement Italy is hurting very seriously as 350 deaths before yesterday and 450 deaths yesterday really matter of serious concern for authorities here.

Well as I suspected we won't be seeing any tennis in 6 weeks as they first thought. I'm starting to think that we might not see any grand slams this year with the way things are going right now. Not just with the corona-virus but the economy is taking a big hit as well and that will effect everything.

Yes, this cancellation might take longer as we expected, every country is taking a big hit, US and EU wherein most of the tournaments are being held. And I'm expecting players as well to take care of themselves not to get infected. So let's admit that we will missed tennis for now and will have to wait till everything has settled down. With that said, let us re-lived 2001: Pete Sampras vs Andre Agassi QF match. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sh2ApXMSCY
