...and so it comes to pass, another final against Medvedev and Sinner. Both players won their
matches yesterday in 2 sets but in fairness they were hard fought battles with tie breaks for both.

So for todays final the odds are close: Medvedev 1.71 v 2.15 Sinner.

Sinner has definitely improved this year and noticeably in the second half, he just
might pull off the win and is worth a 2.15 bet.

Sinner had won the match against Medvedev 7⁹-6⁷ 4-6 6-3 which is real fight. The win of the first set through the tie breaker have made it a winning match for him. With the Vienna title win once again he makes himself a strong contender against Medvedev. Earlier in this month he won against him in the Beijing final. Medvedev at the presentation had mentioned it a tough match and both had met in four tour level finals this year and stands 2-2.

It's true that Medvedev isn't the most consistent player, but compared to others like Rune, Ruud, and Tsitsipas, he's a pretty consistent player, it's quite rare for him to lose in the early rounds of the tournament, but in the Paris Masters this time I doubt he'll make it far away because the tournament schedule is too close, and Djokovic and Alcaraz have the opportunity to repeat the Cincinnati and US Open finals

Hurkcaz. I wasnt following this tournament but I am delighted for Felix.

That is truly remarkable. Last year he also won in Basel. After that he did not win a tournament at the ATP Tour. It is great that he won a tournament again after such a long time. Hopefully it will not be the same again from now on for him after he won in Basel last year.

The Paris masters are now happening and both Sonner and Medvedev play tomorrow,
but not against each other.

I believe Murray totally lost his composure and smashed his racket after losing against
de Minaur in 3 sets.

Two inconsistent players of the tour face each other. Wolf is a step ahead with a good serve and more matches at this level lately, but he has had his ups and downs. McDonald is not a big fan of playing on indoor courts, but he is a tenacious player and can at least take the match to the top. Wolf is one step ahead.

Altmaier - Fils
Daneil Altmaier struggles on hard courts. Fils has been effective on indoor hard courts for some time now and he has a suitable opponent. Fils, who recently had a successful tournament in Antwerp and reached the final, is the favorite to win this match.

The consistency you mentioned about Medvedev has quite positive consequences for him. Since he almost never fails to get through the early rounds, he consistently collects ATP points and hence is often ranked very highly. I was confused one time when I checked the ATP ranking and despite not winning a lot of tournaments, he is still listed at the top because of his continued performances that get him through the later rounds. But I don't particularly like him as a player because I hate it when he looks as if he hates the game he is playing.

From this match it looks like Mackenzie McDonald will experience difficulties.

Even though Jannik Sinner is the seed in this match, it is also possible that he will lose because there are quite a lot of cases where the seeded player actually loses to player ranked below him.

Surprising alright to see Alcaraz going out of the tournament in round 2. Maybe
he underestimated Safiullin or maybe he wasnt mentally ready.

Just as Alcaraz was not expected to be bowled out in his first match, no one thought Ben Shelton would be either. He also was bowled out in the first round. He could only win one set against Davidovich Fokina. But in the second round against Griekspoor he was bowled out.
And unfortunately Fritz is also out. He cannot play in Paris due to an abdominal muscle injury.

So some surprises so far.

Yes a few surprises so far but there are still some "usual suspects" present in the round of 16
notably, Sinner, Rublev, Zverev and Tsitsipas and to a lesser extent but still notable is Dimitrov
and Hurkacz.

Currently Bublik is playing Dimitrov - it seems Bublik is playing well again, this one could go
either way...

Tsitsipas plays Zverev later and this definitely could go either way

Sinner plays de Minaur later too - Sinner is favourite at 1.35 which I agree with, he should win
this one but could be tricky enough too over 3 sets.

I'm most curious about Rune's chances against Đoković in their probable QF duel.
At first you'd say he's got no chance, but then again he's one of the rare players with a positive H2H against Novak.

Last time they played on hard it was in the final of this same tournament, where Rune overturned Đoković's 1-0 set lead.

Currently Bublik is playing Dimitrov - it seems Bublik is playing well again, this one could go
either way...

Bublik lost in straight sets to Dimitrov and this was a fairly quick match that finished in only around 1 hour 7 minutes, Dimitrov was playing very well at the moment.

Tsitsipas plays Zverev later and this definitely could go either way

Zverev vs Tsitsipas looks like it will be a match that lasts 3 sets but it seems like it will still be difficult to predict who will win because sometimes both of them can play really phenomenally but it doesn't rule out the possibility of the opposite making the match end quickly

Sinner plays de Minaur later too - Sinner is favourite at 1.35 which I agree with, he should win
this one but could be tricky enough too over 3 sets.

Alex de Minaur is quite an agile player who can trouble his opponents because he will always try to catch the ball and hit it well, but he has bad statistics against Sinner, in five meetings he has never won once, but it could be that this will be his first win against Sinner to advance to the quarterfinals, 3 sets possible.

Indeed, Nadal leaving tennis is another big loss after Federer said goodbye. These guys were the ones who made me watch my first tennis games. I never particularly liked it, but then I don't know when, but I saw a match between those two and I was blown away by the precision tennis professionals can apply to the ball with their tennis rackets and these games were so intense that I happened to watch a game that was like 4.5 hours or so. This was what made me think tennis is boring, but then I saw this 4.5 hours 100% precision shots and I was shocked about it.

But Djokovic said in an interview now that he is far from quitting and for as long as he is called the favorite for Grand Slam tournaments, he won't stop playing.

Rune has won once in paris against Djokovic if im not mistaken. Anything is possible but after that first match that Djokovic played i think he looks unbeatable. Plus Djokovic must be motivated even more because Alcaraz got knocked out but i think Rune might cause some problems to Djokovic,but i think Djokovic will win in the end,if they play in the next round against each other

Yea there is a lot of talk about the scheduling of the matches and the fact that Sinner v
McDonald had to play so late.

TBH Sinner is probably my favourite player ATM but is withdrawal of the match with de Minaur
is a bit sour. As McDonald said he would have loved to play against de Minaur himself and
it was late for both players.

It true that now he has risen in rank and is in 4th place all of this achievement is thanks to his hard work who always tries to win every match.

Previously, I said that it was possible that Jannik Sinner would lose because in previous cases several top tennis players actually lost to players who were still far below him.
And in every sporting event there will be surprises, I think you can understand what I am saying.

Tsitsipas won the match and so far Tsitsipas can still be relied on as a favorite.
