~snip
Alcaraz v Djokovic, I have a small wager on Alcaraz with not bad odds 1.47

I have a wager on Djokovic, can't tell why, but @2.95 cannot miss it
Alcaraz is in better form, but as we have seen against Tsitsipas he could have lose third set in tie-break, and Djokovic would probably use that chance, with maybe different outcome

will be interesting to see what will happen, but I would clearly not sign-off Djokovic in this duel

regarding Ruud and Zverev, if Zverev hadn't last season injury, I would go instantly with him, but as of this moment, similar chances to pass for both

I got 2.80 odd on Djokovic and i think they are really thinking that Djokovic will lose. The bookies gave a huge odd on this i took advantage of it and hopefully it will pay off. So far Djokovic playing really good and leading 4-1 in the first set and a break more then Alcaraz.

Well, well, well. I finally tune in to see the famed Alcaraz form that I've missed out on for a while, but instead I'm treated to a Djokovic special. The kid's really good at covering immense distances, have to say, and he probably could take the second set but the comeback from Djoko, to make sure this set goes the distance, man.

Alcaraz managed to show an unbelievable performance against Tsitsipas especially in the first 2 sets. However if he becomes complacent as he was after the middle of the 3rd set, Djokovic wouldn't forgive this and he would send Alcaraz back home.

Djokovic can still have a psychological superiority to his opponent somehow even in times his opponent is better than him. Therefore unlike the betting odds the person I expect to see in the finale is Djokovic.

Yeah I'm seeing that psychology in play a little I think, wavering a little and quite lucky that the Serb made a few errors now to give some wiggle room. Worth watching!

Well the second set was insane and several rallies in the first as well. These guys played the best tennis in RG so far, but I thought that Alcaraz can keep up with Djokovic for longer and even outcompete him with his fitness, but it was actually Alcaraz who suffered physical problems. I have to say that Djokovic is a beast. He played with all his experience and made a lot of smarter moves. But Alcaraz' speed is inhuman. Too bad this didn't go the full distance with players staying at their best.

Alcaraz got injured in the third set and wasnt able to give his max until the very end and Djokovic took that advantage with his experience and destroyed Alcaraz in third and fourth set with same result of 6-1. Djokovic is too close to being the best in history. 23 grand slam title is around the corner.

Djokovic showed us today once again why he was one of the biggest tennis players in history. Even if Alcaraz didn't have an injury Djokovic was like in his prime today. Besides if Djokovic wins Roland Garros he will capture the oldest winner in Roland Garros title.

Indeed and Zverev is showing his second ego. This guy is full of surprises both in the negative and the positive sense. Within only three days he can show an amazing performance and a devastating performance. Against Tiafoe he had some very strong points and I thought he possibly has overcome his injury and also the impact on his mentality. It looked as if he trusted in his body again and could show his best tennis, but now it is all gone again. Djokovic almost didn't have a single weakness for most of the match. Ruud looks strong now but that is because Zverev is so weak.

Sabalenka made to fight, next casualty perhaps? I'm beginning to think to bet on Haddad now the way the women's seem to be going...

Ah damn, I see from my previous post that my predictive text left out the 'nt from would.

Tsitsipas needs to ditch his family from the coaching team, I seriously think they
are more of a hinderance than a help at this stage.

I know you buwaytress like myself and others have been let down by his performances
in the past so at this stage of a GS its way too risky to bet on him especially against to top guys.

I should have known that's what you meant -- no idea about players and their relationships with family/coaches... Djokovic I believe has had several, and Raducanu seems to have parted ways with a lot of talk surrounding it, but I never paid attention to that news. Maybe I should start?

But yeah, Tsitsi, I'm over him, to be honest. Would love to be proven wrong at some stage (as I actually like the guy) but I'm more inclined to put my hopes on other rising (youthful) stars -- a revival by 26 and powering on from there maybe? Hard to say.
Sabalenka turning it around and looks like sure thing now even though result is not backing it yet. She started to simply overpower Muchova.

Tsitsi had no chance against Alcaraz and before we start to pile on him let's wait to see how Djoković will fare tomorrow. I feel like there is nobody on tour capable of competing with Alcaraz when he is on his best. First 2 sets against Tsitsipas he was simply unplayable. But if anybody can test him it is player like Djokovic, full of experience and tricks even when he is not in his best form like here.

Indubitably, Alcaraz's performance against Tsitsipas was nothing short of impressive, however, his complacency during the latter stages was quite concerning. Should he exhibit such overconfidence against Djokovic, the result could be disastrous - like a mouse challenging a lion in his own den. Alcaraz might be packing his bags sooner than anticipated.

Djokovic's psychological edge over his opponents is rather remarkable. It's like a chess grandmaster subtly manipulating his adversary's strategy. Often, even when he appears on the backfoot, he manages to shift the momentum in his favor. Betting odds notwithstanding, it's quite conceivable that Djokovic could indeed find himself in the final, capitalizing on the slightest of missteps by his opponents.

In fact, Alcatraz was experiencing pretty rare full body cramps (wow must be quite painful) since early 3rd set. That is the reason of such a poor performance from him. I'm not saying that Carlitos would have won the match but chances were quite high that the match would have gone into the 5th set. Such a pity.

Anyway, Zverez was a mess today. I'm not sure what happened to him but he played really terrible tonight.

To me, both Zverev and Alcaraz played terrible. Ruud had a much easier win against Zverev, 6-3 6-4 6-0. In the third set Zverev unable to take a single point is very bad. For this he could've walked over. Anyhow the favourite to win have made it to the finals very easily.

In the match between Alcaraz and Djokovic, everyone must have expected it to be atleast a close one. From the beginning there is dominance of Djokovic. A second set comeback gave boost to Alcaraz followers, but third and fourth sets were really worse, 6-3 5-7 6-1 6-1. Once again the final to be won by Djokovic.

Well I was confident Alcaraz would win, my bet is dead now though. I'm a bit worried
for Alcaraz though, for a young player he is getting injured quite often I think.

I thought the match between Ruud and Zverev would have been much closer, the final
scoreboard looks like Zverev didn't turn up at all.

The final on Sunday I agree is going only one way, I cant see Ruud beating Djokovic
eventhough they are seeded 3 and 4.

Great game by Ruud. He gave Zverev no chance and deserved to win. But Zverev can be proud of himself for reaching a semi-final. It seems he is back again.

Djokovic let Alcaraz pretty much run. That is his experience and that was also the reason why Alcaraz got cramps. Alcaraz did not have to chase every ball when it was 40-0.

Great game by Ruud. He gave Zverev no chance and deserved to win. But Zverev can be proud of himself for reaching a semi-final. It seems he is back again.

Not an ideal match for a grand slam semi-final, Zverev in this match ahead of Ruud on the money line by a very small margin, did not expect that he would be so difficult to beat Ruud, he made many mistakes which were very profitable for Ruud and the third set was the the worst of the entire match, but overall after being injured in the tournament Zverev participated in he has made very satisfactory progress.

Djokovic let Alcaraz pretty much run. That is his experience and that was also the reason why Alcaraz got cramps. Alcaraz did not have to chase every ball when it was 40-0.

Leaving aside what Alcaraz experienced, Djokovic's performance was extraordinary, it seems not many predicted that he would be able to provide a very tight resistance to Alcaraz in the first and second sets, and what Alcaraz experienced was the result of Djokovic's clever use of his experience by creating young players must run for every point in the first and second sets.

I always thought Alcaraz's way of playing would get him in a lot of trouble, he had to find the most effective way of playing not always chasing the ball which would make him more likely to get injured, but he is really a star player will have many titles he can win and become the biggest threat for Djokovic to get more a grand slam title aside from Medvedev on the hard court.
Meanwhile, for grass, it has not been seen that there is a player who can drop Djokovic unless he is not feeling well.

Swiatek v Muchova WTA final today. Swiatek has been confident and determined so far and I'm pretty sure it's going to be a one way traffic in this one. She had given her opponents a considerable number of bagels and yet to lose a set at this RG . Moreover, I'm pretty sure Muchova hasn't recovered after an exhausting semifinal against Sabalenka. The Czech has spent 5 more hours on court than Iga did (12 vs 7). Although, H2H is 1:0 in favor of Muchova, she managed to win in three sets back in 2019 in Prague. But all in all the outcome of this final looks quite clear to me - Swiatek to win the title.

This has to be a one-sided match. Swiatek, it’s just leaps and bounds better compared to her opponent Muchová. We are talking about the player who is ranked first versus the player who is ranked 43. I don’t think we can predict the match just based on the one head-to-head match that they have at which was also back in 2019. Things have changed a lot since then. I absolutely agree that Swiatek, she’s going to be the winner of this match. For me, it is an 80-20 chance of Swiatek winning.

I agree with both of you that Swiatek will be the champion today, just hope Muchova doesn't let that happen easily, the final match should provide an interesting spectacle for tennis lovers. Muchova is not one of the players who is calculated to be able to perform optimally to finally reach the final and before defeating other favorites who were previously even predicted to be Swiatek's only strong challenger, so what she has achieved should not be let go so easily because Swiatek had faced difficulties when she faced Haddad Maia, so everyplayers have a chance to give a tight game today.
Bet on over 18.5 and hope Muchova is solid in her service game even though it doesn't have to go to 3 sets but at least there isn't a 6-0 score which is very unpleasant to watch in the final match.

Djokovic showed us today once again why he was one of the biggest tennis players in history. Even if Alcaraz didn't have an injury Djokovic was like in his prime today. Besides if Djokovic wins Roland Garros he will capture the oldest winner in Roland Garros title.

I agree, Djokovic played great against Alcaraz, but the match was completely open and the question is who would have won in the end if Alcaraz had not been injured.
The whole tennis world was impatiently waiting for this match of the year and it's a shame that it all ended like this, with the injury of one tennis player.
Alcaraz impressed me a lot in this tournament and I have no doubts that he will become the new Nadal and win a lot of Roland Garros in his career, if he will not have many injuries.
Djokovic probably has about 2 more years of top tennis ahead of him and a great chance to win a record number of GS titles and officially become the GOAT.

Well currently its just one sided and Swiatek leads 5-2 in the first set and looks like she will take the set and the title pretty much without any hard work. For over 18.5 Muchova will need to work more and get some games but still its realistic that over comes in the second set.

Alcaraz have not played many games against Novak djokovic so it is understandable that he may still feel some level of tension and his nerves getting the better of him whenever he plays against Novak especially in a very important games that decides who heads to the final. Alcaraz suffered cramps and that reduced the challenge on Novak. Novak will play against Casper Ruud again, Casper Ruud is the underdog in this final game because he has never won Novak in the number of times they have met, he may be lucky this time, but it will not happen easily. Novak Djokovic is on a move to make a record by winning a 23rd grand slam title, he will keep his concentration so that Casper Ruud does not stop him from this achievement.

Well currently its just one sided and Swiatek leads 5-2 in the first set and looks like she will take the set and the title pretty much without any hard work. For over 18.5 Muchova will need to work more and get some games but still its realistic that over comes in the second set.
Swiatek won the first set 6-2. In the second set Muchova had an opportunity to win, she missed it and then made a comeback and won the set 7-5. Now the match have moved to the third set, this is interesting. After Stuttgart Open title win Swiatek lost Madrid Open final and lost Italian Open quarter finals match. Once again she had reached the finals and it favours her amidst the hard competence from Muchova.
