Yeah, WU fees are quite ridiculous. Though in all fairness you could make the same argument with something like PayPal where you can send to friends and family for no fees, but obviously it falls flat in that it's very much centralized and also has quite high fees if you use it for commercial transactions. I think WU is going to get hit with a wakeup call very quickly.
but in real life people will rather choose western union, they just think its the safest way to send a money, WU will lead as a money transfer option for next 1 years probably

It is quite optimistic to say bitcoin will lead money transfer in a year's time. I think it might be feasible in 10 year's time, depending on the wide adoption of bitcoin and its use in everyday purchase and usage in business. If bitcoin is used widely, it will also be used in remittance.

BTC needs to be introduced to those in the USA that speak spanish and send money south of the border each week.
Western union is a scam. In Argentina Bitcoin is growing daily with more and more people using it to edge against their forever depreciating national currency as well.

Adoption is very big problem for bitcoin in most of Developing countries corrupt politicians afraid of this just because of this they are baning and doing crackdown on users and adopters

This is not fair, you can't compare Western Union with Bitcoin.
Western Union is a service that allow us to transfering Fiat money, whilst Bitcoin sending a digital money.

The picture is a lie, with $0.01 of tx fee you wait MONTHS before the transaction gets confirmed.

Thanks Blockstream and 1 MB blocks.

even though its not 0.01 cent, its still nothing compared to what you would pay for western union.

thats a lie, im pretty sure bitcoin transactions get dropped after a couple days of no confirmations, even with 1cent it would take about a day for a miner to pick it up.

You are a blind fool. Soon transactions will cost several dollars if blocks are just 1 MB.

I would choose both why? Because some thing the rate of currency is not same, sometime its better to remit in Western union than bitcoin, like yesterday I make remittances in Philippines the the rate is 1hkd=6.045 but in bitcoin is 1hkd=5.95 so I choose Western union rather than bitcoin.

Western Union has horrible fees compared to Bitcoin. Simply put, Bitcoins is a step ahead of Western Union in a digitized/virtual form, with 10x lesser fees to be paid for remitting large amounts. I'd prefer Bitcoin over Western union any day, considering that the other party also is ready to accept Bitcoins for receipts.

This why I like bitcoin. It is not that expensive to give money in other country.

I dont use western union but I use other and always I need to fill the form and sign it.

Bitcoin is cheaper, faster and more convenient than Western Union. You can do it all from home or any other place you like. No restrictions where you wanna send or when you wanna send. Western Union and Money Gram are Dinosaurs which are going to day the next couple of years imo. Foreign remittances is one of the markets where Bitcoin will have a huge and tremendous impact.Especially when developing countries start to accept Bitcoin as second curreny for instance. Then no conversion needs to take place.

Western Union has his days numbered. They are not going to adapt, they will fight till the death, till they go bankrupt. They will go against Bitcoin no matter what, because if they adapt they lose money (the money they make on fees).

Western Union & PayPal are probably the 2 main organisation's who should be worried about bitcoin, even morecso than fiat banks. They are going to be in serious trouble if/when bitcoin achieves mainstream adoption.

for them bitcoin is a serious threat. that's why you are right with saying they will fight it till they reach out of money. people will stop using western union once they find out bitcoin is far better and cheaper.

eventually everyone will lose money if they are going to do a fight against bitcoin and bitcoin will be the winner, i can only see visa and mastercard withstand this, because they are monstrously big

it must be said that in the future fee of bitcoin will increase if we want the price to increase, you can always pay zero fees, but it will slow down everything..

If I we're to choose between fee's to pay between Western Union and sending Bitcoins, I'll go for Bitcoins since fees are so minimal, while in terms of accessibility, I'll go for Wester Union, maybe thats the reason why we are paying high fees with those remittance companies like WU.
