I think the issue is the contract, but they have a good run last time, too bad the management need to break it, they could been still a playoff team until now, fox is now in the spurs, and might have a chance for another run in the playoffs, if things go smoothly they might be another contender in the west, that makes now the west again a force and will go down to experience in the playoffs, Mavs, Suns, OKC, nuggets are for me the best top teams in the west, who are yours?
This is what fox said. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/44126913/mike-brown-firing-ended-deaaron-fox-sacramento-kings"I loved it," he said of Sacramento. "Everybody bled purple. It was always great just going to the grocery store, going out to a restaurant. Everybody there was extremely kind. And when we started winning, then it was 'light the beam' everywhere. You really felt it around the city. So, it was definitely a great place to be for as long as I was."
Then, almost suddenly, it wasn't. As we can see, Fox actually wanted to stay with the team, but there were issues internally, mainly with the coaching side. He no longer believes that the current system can lead the team to success, so he wasn’t happy and decided to ask for a trade. It’s fine, let’s give the current roster a chance to prove something first, then we can make a fair comparison. And honestly, if Fox is really that good, he should be able to lead the Spurs to the playoffs. It's obvious that the Kings have move on already from Fox. But during his stint with the Kings, he was really their first option, that lefty, very quick can shoot outside and penetrate inside. And together with Monk and Sabonis, they really put the Kings into playoff. But during that time, they can't get pass the Warriors and I thought that this two are going to be rivals. But then both of them have weaken and now the Kings are a very different team now. But let's see, line up looks solid in paper.

It's obvious that he has lost step too because of the injuries he suffered. But during his prime he is a good shooter. But just like anyone who who just injured, majority of them wasn't able to get back to their previous form, including Malcom. He as a good rotational player when he was with Boston too. But again, he might have felt that his career is getting nowhere and that he might be high risk of a possible injury and that could be the advise of his doctor. Also, he might have settled already, uses his money in the NBA into investment and so he can now retire without thinking of his future as he could be earning passively.
The best part about having this type of career is that he has made a ton of money already. It means that if he didn't spend it on clubbing and what not, then he should have a lot of money invested right now, plenty of players bankrupt after their career but we are hearing more and more about how plenty of players are investing into business that makes them even richer. There are few who made more from their investments than their career earnings. If Brogdon made good investments while he is playing, that dude can retire at 32 and just live his life on the beach sipping drinks. So it is not a sad thing, it is not a sad story, it's a good story, we all wish we could have retired at 32 and have enough money to last us until we die.

With experienced players like LaVine and DeRozan, that’s already a solid core, they just need the right supporting cast around them. They’ve got good bigs too, so that’s not really a problem. Maybe last season they fell short because they hadn’t found the right mix yet, but I’m sure they’ve worked on that during the offseason. I’m actually expecting them to have a strong run this coming season. Sometimes chemistry really matters. Even if Fox had a great season with the Kings, it’s not guaranteed he’ll have the same success with the Spurs, especially since he won’t be the main man anymore, they already have Wemby.

I agree to that, with DeRozan and LaVine together with Dennis, Sabonis and Monk they've got players who can contribute they just need to established that good chemistries, blending key players with the role players and allow each individuals to perform at thier best, like you've said there's nothing to do with Fox now as they need to embrace the reality that he already move and what they've got now is what they need to solidify in terms of working and playing together as a team.

On paper the team looks solid, but it's also a little bit old. Also, the combination of Lavine and DeRozan didn't really bring a lot of wins to Chicago already, so I am not sure if he plans out the way they are hoping this season. Last season it was ok, but they didn't really reach anything, didn't they. Adding a veteran point guard like DS17 of course helps, but it's nothing that suddenly turns around the fortune of your franchise. Now adding yet another aging star in Russ is also a "meh" decision in my eyes. Well, of course I can be wrong, and I hope so, but I don't see them being close to the playoffs honestly.

To be fair it doesn't matter to Kings, they just realized that even with Fox they are not going to do anything special, so I am seeing them basically rebuilding. Which means that they could send away some players and instead pick up some assets and picks. That makes more sense and right now they are doing that as a better way. This isn't really a bad idea neither, because with Westbrook leading them to rebuilding, they could actually build a team in 4-5 years that can rival for a playoff place and do a lot better. Fox was great but they couldn't build anything around him that worth anything so it made no sense to keep him when they can cash out on him and profit from it. In this case they are actually benefiting, while also Spurs is getting something good too.

It's pretty interesting that we're opening the season with the Rockets – Thunder game. The last champion will face the team I see as the biggest favorite for this season. I'm not saying this just because we're witnessing Alperen Şengün's rise to superstardom. They've added the best shooter in history, Kevin Durant, to an already great team. With Şengün, Thompson, VanVleet, Eason, Finney-Smith and the other role players, it's a full-package we've got here.
I was honestly surprised that none of the NBA.com writers placed them in the top two. But predictions like these exist just to be proven wrong anyway. The Rockets will show their strength on the court.

Could have been great if Vanvleet didn't get that injury but still they are a team to watch this season. They're recent starting made history I guess as the tallest starting five assembled which I think dominates in the court with those height advantage. Could have been great if they didn't let go of Brooks as I say he got that defensive hustle in him too, he's probably still good even in the second unit. I wonder if they'll stick with that tall starting five, and I guess it is they only got 1 listed point guard in their team which is Vanvleet and probably out for the rest of the season.

You're not wrong. What you said are all true, and that's why I have low expectations towards the Kings team this regular season. I'll just add 2 things to your opinion as well. One is how stacked the West are. There are teams like Denver, OKC, Lakers, Warriors, Rockets, Clippers that have all-star players in their team. The Kings? Some might say that they have DeRozan, LaVine and Sabonis, but are they on par with the likes of Curry, Durant, Luka or Jokic? Nowhere near, and if there are some Kings fans here, I'm sorry, but they're just a play-in team right now. Second is their new coach. No offense to Doug Christie, but we know that there are some skepticism towards new coaches ever since, and I have low expectations to him as well. Like you, I will be happy to correct myself if I'm wrong, but the Kings are just a play-in team right now especially with their current roster. The Spurs have a better roster than them.

I have same opinion, they are lucky if they are able to be in the middle of the standings in the west, as they are going to face tougher competition, aside from the rockets, okc, denver, they still need to compete with LA, GSW , Clippers, so meaning their position in the playoffs are so thin, Sabonis, Derozan, Lavine are stars, but there are other stars in other teams that are better than them, the ball is round but still they will have their hands full if they make it to the playoffs, if they will be at 8 that is an early exit for them.

Like you, I will be happy to correct myself if I'm wrong, but the Kings are just a play-in team right now especially with their current roster. The Spurs have a better roster than them. Kings and spurs have the same odds in the NBA futures ( https://www.espn.com/nba/futures) That means the competition is pretty even. I think it’d be fun if we actually make a local bet on this since it’s like a 50-50 shot. I’d go with the Kings finishing better than the Spurs next season, regardless if they make the playoffs or not. A lot of factors can really affect how their season goes, but I still don’t see Fox fully blending in with the team’s chemistry. Sometimes a player looks great because of the system or the teammates around him like Westbrook, he was a beast with OKC but struggled once he got traded.

Not entirely sure if it's honest or if it's PR. Telling "I hated sacramento, it was a horrible city, everyone sucked, I am glad to be out of there" would be a terrible way to leave, and will not help you with your future as well. I would say most common one is silence, when a player moves to another team, they just simply do not talk about the teams or cities that they leave, instead of saying anything good or bad.
So while I also think it has some PR reasons to say this, I also think he didn't had to say this so it's great to see him cherish his time there. Lets see if he can be a great duo with Wemby at Spurs, because those two could really be something special. I am not entirely sure how healthy Wemby will comeback, his sickness is serious, it is not an injury it's a sickness, so that is a bigger problem.

Now that preseason is over, I am looking forward to having a thrilling Tip-Off game. https://www.nba.com/news/starting-5-oct-18-opening-night-on-the-horizonThe wait is almost over. Finally, the season will start again after a few more sleeps. The Houston Rockets, which just overhauled their roster in exchange for Kevin Durant, versus the champion OKC Thunder, without much of a change in their roster. Then the old rivalry of Steph Curry versus Lebron James. I think that's a good choice made by the NBA to start the season.

Now that preseason is over, I am looking forward to having a thrilling Tip-Off game. https://www.nba.com/news/starting-5-oct-18-opening-night-on-the-horizonThe wait is almost over. Finally, the season will start again after a few more sleeps. Then the old rivalry of Steph Curry versus Lebron James. I think that's a good choice made by the NBA to start the season. I think the Lakers and the Mavs are a better season opener match up than the GSW. Though the Warriors have acquire a veteran Al Horford, which adds something interesting about the team, but I think the Mavs acquiring Flagg is more interesting, and I think that's what makes the Lakers vs Mavs match up very interesting. I mean, let's see If the Mavs really won the trade sacrificing Luka for Flagg and AD.

To be fair it doesn't matter to Kings, they just realized that even with Fox they are not going to do anything special, so I am seeing them basically rebuilding. Which means that they could send away some players and instead pick up some assets and picks. That makes more sense and right now they are doing that as a better way. It just wasn't enough in my opinion. Sure they have a good starting 5, but after that, no one can come from the bench to give the Kings a better change. So they decided to just let go and rebuild. The thing that I don't like though is that they got both DeRozan and Lavine, which has prior history with the Bulls and it didn't turn out good.
No, they can't rebuild around Westbrook, he might just be there to guide them with his experience. Maybe play as second unit, but with Westbrook's history, he might played for just a couple of minutes to stabilize everything.

Fans provably love to watch this match up especially there's some great roster changes and additions happened. Al Horford is for sure is difference maker in Warriors and somehow I'm excited to watch this especially they are doing good so far. Also in Lakers side it seems that Luka is well prepared and chasing to win a championship for Lakers this season. Mavs somehow is good but I think NBA Lakers know that they can get more higher ratings in this match ups.

Its because of curry and lebron rivalry started with Cleaveland to lakers match-up they really want to see this two players, at the same time this has higher view because some hate lebron other love curry, meaning the viewers wan't to see other player lose, NBA really know how to connect with the audience, the mavs and lakers are also good one, but because irving is not there to play, there is no appeal on the audience, and its better for curry and lebron, besides they still have matchup in regular season so its okay.

Not only because of the rivalry but both team has the most fan base among NBA teams so even if they are facing against other team or not surely there’s a lot of fans watching their game so when the 2 team with huge fan base clash it’s automatically resulted to in demand games even with rivalry or not. Curry and Lebron already established a brand on NBA so even they are already old there’s still a lot of fans watching their willing to watch their game hoping their idol have some good game.

2 days until NBA Basketball!
While I like the NBA, I'm also waiting for the NCAA season to start. Still another 2 weeks though, which is quite sad. Watching NBA games sometimes is quite boring to be honest. Resting stars, lame atmosphere in the arena, players that are rich and don't show they really want it. NCAA is the complete opposite, guys are fighting for a future in this sport, arenas often are packed and loud, that's what I want to see. Much more fun to watch, that's why the NCAA final 4 has a higher viewership than the NBA finals basically every year.
