Latest NBA rumor I’m seeing is that the Houston Rockets are willing to do whatever they have to in order to pair Kevin Durant with Giannis. I don’t think they have the cards to get him, but you never know. The Bucks can’t let Giannis walk in free agency in my opinion. They’re going to have to trade him.

Why are they doing this? Like why would they do it? What's the point of it. Durant is so old, and getting him was a mistake to begin with. But let's assume for a moment that they achieved, and got Giannis, how could they win a title with a very old Durant, and Giannis alone? They would have basically nobody else left, all other good players would be gone, they would need it all to offer to them, otherwise it is not going to work.

In the end, this is a bad move, they already had one bad move, getting another isn't good. They were second last season, and they sent one young star that made them second, and got a very old star that can barely do what the same dude can do. I guarantee you they already got worse, no need to get even worse.

Finding scoring is not that hard actually, you don't have to trade for superstars to get scoring. What you need is a solid core and especially defense if you want to win another ring. I mean we have all seen that creating superteams doesn't necessarily mean success, this fails over and over. again, even for the Lakers in the past with Dwight Howard, Steve Nash and so on. Especially super teams with aging stars and a very limited window isn't the right approach, that's why I also don't think splitting up and young and hungry core like in Houston is not the way to go!

It's also the chemistry of the players in a certain team, just like what you mentioned, it looks good in paper but in reality the players might have different mindset and they are not in the same page. But if players are hungry, like the Celtics, with Pierce, Allen, KG and Rondo it was a instant click and they become champions.

Another bad example is the KD, Irving and Harden in the Nets, too much drama and then they don't have enough supporting cast. I think this is one important aspects as well, players that are willing to do the hard job, and we've seen teams to have this special kinds of players as second stringers to play defense.

i’ve seen trades like that before where a team shakes up the roster, trading multiple players for just one star. In the end, they struggle because their second unit becomes weak.

If the Rockets can address that depth issue, then maybe they’ll be successful this season, assuming the trade actually happens.
They’ve got a good coach, and if you put Giannis and KD together, both proven champions, that’s huge. Could easily turn into another superteam.

Remember when he went to Houston, thinking he would handle the ball and call plays? Well, days later they signed a ball hog called James Harden and we all know how this went. I had the chance to see Lin play twice in Taiwan and he still looked solid. I guess with 37 years now it's time to call it quits.
